Reviving the Angry Chicken meme dream !!!
T5 already hinted at either HoFing, or nerfing Divine Spirit with one of their last interviews. That should be kept in mind in regards to this card.
Sooo...Magma Rager is playable now?
Cool, unique mechanic but I understand the concern with Divine Spirit.
Wow! Just by having the text "summon" oppose to "played" brings a lot of possibility. You can Vivid Nightmare the card and it will be full health!
It's time to HoF Divine Spirit. Inner Fire isn't too bad on it's own, simply throwing it on an ordinary high-health minion is fine. But once you start doubling health, for the low-low prices of 2 mana, both Inner Fire and [Hearthstone Card (Topsy-Turvy) Not Found] start generating a bit too much attack. That word "double" can get very scary very fast.
Some sort of replacement, +4 health for 2 mana, would probably be a fine. It'll have a close-enough effect when used *once* on a normal-ish minion, without the excessive combo potential.
Turn Ancient Shade into a 4 mana 7/7!
Blizzard literally unable to come up with any viable Priest gameplay outside of Inner Fire.
Even if they HoF'd Stonetusk Boar with the expansion there's still Bluegill for a guaranteed 28-damage combo
Maybe they'll finally gut Divine Spirit which is the main reason we're in this mess.
Either way, this is basically the fallback wincondition for Priest for the next 3 months if no other deck works....to the point where it might even end up as overpowered and be nerfed because the only counter to a hypercycle 36-damage combo is Aggro or Warrior
Exact same combo with Stormwind Knight has been around since day one. Use PW:S, two DS and the IF and you're at 28 damage for 10 mana. Same number of cards required even. I really don't think this card will be game breaking for OTKs since nobody uses the OTK I just listed.
it had reappeared when Emperor Thaurissan had released. It can reappear with any set. Because YourPrivateNightmare is right here. This package is only win condition of Classic Priest set. There was Mind Blast too but not anymore.
I think they need to do healing synergies with a win condition to priest. Just Buff isn't shows well the class identity.
For example, Taunt Priest should be a think since priests are backliner in parties and heals the guys which tanks and deals damage.
we saw a lot of Shadow Priest + Buffer Priest package but didn't see so much healer priest. There is just Injured Blademaster + Circle of Healing decks and there was some mid-range lists in TGT times with Holy Champion.
Team 5 need to find something besides Inner Fire, Especially after Mind Blast rotation.
I can understand that Inner Fire priest feels classic whenever they support that archetype but nostalgia feels good if they made it just once or twice if it comes after so long time but they keep necromancing it like hell.
Star Aligner
Hm interesting unique effect. Cam be really good in zoo style inner fire deck
I think the issue with priest is that none of the big themes in priest make for a good in condition.
healing, high health, drawing cards, none of these things are good win conditions, and some of them are not even good at all. priest needs some sort of revising that allows it to have a solid win condition other than resurrect.
Are you kidding? This very card allows for a 10-mana 36-damage OTK.
There are literally people complaining about this making Priest unbeatable, and in the same thread there are people complaining it's too weak. I feel for Blizzard, because they really cannot win here.
that combo requires 5-7 cards, depending on whether or not you want to use power word: shield or not. and that is a lot more cards than it sounds like, I have played enough malygoes druid to know that getting 5-7 specific cards is pretty hard.
I think that the problem is blizzard nerfing or hofing combo decks and print a card that is a clearly a least 28 dmg combo with a 1 mana charge
Interesting card, but as a legendary, it can't carry an archetype on its own.
I mean, a Reborn Priest would still need much more than this + Reborn cards.
On the other hand, it is nice support for an already existing (but weak) Inner Fire Priest.
I seem to recall Blizzard saying that they don't like the Inner Fire + Divine Spirit combos because it's not compatible with the class identity, but High Priest Amet obviously makes that very easy with Stonetusk Boar. This may be a harbinger for a hall of fame rotation for one or both of those combo pieces - Blizzard has said that they think it's fine to produce super powerful combos as long as they rotate after a few months (this was in a reflection on the failure of the Highlander/Anduin's tenure in standard), so they may be getting ready to give that combo one last hurrah before "hall of faming" it.
Outside of combos, because High Priest Amet's text reads "summon" rather than "play," he does a lot of cool stuff with reborn effects, etc., and after the almost certain hall of fame rotation of OTK Priest, I expect we'll see him used for some pretty serious value plays.
That’s not even that powerfull tbh. It‘s a 28 damage 5 card combo, 6 cards to top the 30. The later one with power word shield requires topsy turvy without mana reduction.
But this effect is broken with small Summoned minions, for instance reborn
how is it broken with small summoned minions? What'S the point of turning a 1/1 into 1/7 unless you have infinite copies of Inner Fire those are completely ineffective. Priest doesn't have AoE buffs.
If we got an AoE Innerfire I would agree, but right now this is really just a degenerate combo enabler or a bland gimmick with no real practical applications
