Great news everyone! Blizzard has officially announced the Forged in the Barrens Mini Set and we've got a release date - June 3!
Just like the Darkmoon Faire Mini Set, Darkmoon Races, we'll be seeing a whopping 35 new unique cards added to the game through the new set and like before, you can purchase them all in one swoop via a bundle, or, they can be opened from Forged in the Barrens card packs - you have been saving yours, right? Said bundle of "Wailing Caverns" cards will cost $15 USD or 2000 Gold.
No other information is available about the mini set, but card reveals are starting tomorrow on May 28 so get ready!

That may be crazy but do you think there would be a chance for something like neutral Caravans synergy cards, at least for memes?
Shaman will get a new legendary murloc... and i'm sad. :( I want a competitive card draw for our green friend.
1-mana 1/3 Legendary Murloc: "If your deck contains only Murlocs, Overload (2)"
Totally shaman flavoured card!
FINALLY ! The wait overrrrr ! (almost)
I don't know how others feel but in 5-6 years that I play this game, this was probably close to the least fun Standard meta for me (maybe same as short Evolve Shaman meta). Maybe not a worst meta balance-wise, just that there is not that many viable decks overall.
At least there are other modes I could play little more, Wild and some Duels.
Well, maybe the waiting is more annoying now, knowing that Mercenaries is coming...
People really forget how godawful Gadgetzan was...or Uldum...or Outland.
The gadgetzan meta atleast had multiple decks, even if it was rock paper scissors meta. I think the worst metas had to be WotG and Outlands. WotG was literally just aggro shaman and outlands was just DH.
Uldum wasn't all that bad. It introduced Highlander synergies and Quests to standard. It was really fun for deck builders having so much build-arounds to play with.
Which Uldum meta though? The early Uldum meta was one of the best ever, in my opinion, but after the Doom in the Tomb event it became stale very quickly.
So it looks like we're at least getting a murloc, maybe a new Murloc Legendary, based on the size.
Considering the set is named Wailing Caverns, named after the World of Warcraft dungeon, that Murloc should be named Mutanus the Devourer if it exists in the set because that's the last boss!
According to the subtitles in the trailer on YouTube he is indeed named Mutanus the Devourer. :)
Where did you find those subtitles? All I can get is auto-generated subtitles and those obviously only contain the words spoken in the trailer (except for errors like "Barrens" being transcribed as "barons").
Those were just the default English subtitles for me. Usually auto generated indeed and was surprised by the specific mention as well..
