Also Really Annoyed w/ no Deck Building
Really hoping this falls on the right eyes (again). How many years has HS been around? Why, can someone tell me, can we not craft decks with the new cards in them BEFORE the expansion launches????
It is so frustrating to have it land and there you are scrambling to put something together when you just want to PLAY with the cards you spent good money on??
The tragedy of course is how much enjoyment is being lost in this week leading up where it would be so much fun to get the deck building out of the way, pruning and reexamining it, then when it releases all you'd have to do is craft the cards you didn't get and be ready to go!!
Why do they continually sabotage their game with these silly super obvious oversights?
NOTE: I'm well aware you can do this on outside sites and import it but it doesn't have the same charm and is a pain in the ass to navigate.

I agree. I wish I could put cards I did not own yet into decks so I could at the very least come back to a list without tabbing out the game.
edit: I am sure there is some technical reason we cannot or maybe we cannot for the same reason we used to have limited deck slots.
Your face is already dead
They should definitely add a way to theory craft decks with cards you don't own yet
If its any help just use playhearthstone's deck creator: https://playhearthstone.com/en-us/deckbuilder
The interface is more or less the same. Just copy paste the import code and keep it until the expansion comes out. Its not much, but its something.
Honestly, this sounds like a nice quality of life feature that is in practice too minor to have to work out a way to implement it. It is a dead feature for all but 1 week in the expansion cycle (maybe 2 weeks if you consider the mini-set significant enough), and as you acknowledge there are external solutions to the problem during that week.
Don't get me wrong, I agree it would be ideal if it existed, but it's hyperbolic to say they are "sabotaging" their game by leaving it out.
Building decks without cards isn't just for 1 week before expansion release, you know. Sometimes, i really want that feature at middle of an expansion to make some meme or fun decks with cards that i don't want to craft as soon as the thought of the deck came to save that in the game to find out I open those cards from packs or not but it is not really an ideal way to do that with out-game source like a deck-tracker or a website like this.
I honestly wish that system were in the game.
Unpopular Opinion Incarnate
Why not just make an incomplete deck and indicate which cards are missing in the deck name? You won't be able to play it but you can still store it in the collection manager.
You need to be missing a really large fraction of the deck for this to not be a viable option, which is rarely true in the middle of an expansion cycle.
I do wish there was a way to add cards to your deck that you don't currently own, but I think it is asking a bit much to add cards to your deck that aren't in the game yet. Blizzard would have to update the client every day just to let us build decks that aren't even playable. I am no coder, but this sounds like far more hassle then it is worth.
