Master Duelist 1.1: Twisted... To Perfection! - Submission Thread
Greetings everyone, and welcome to the submission thread of the first episode of our brand new Duels series: Master Duelist.
General Information
This challenge will begin today, August 10th, and will end on August 31st. During this window of time, you'll have to start a Duels run with a starting deck including Y'Shaarj, the Defiler and 3 other Corrupt cards of your choice, being them either class or neutral cards.
Everyone who'll post proof of a 7+ wins run in this article's comment section will be awarded with a different amount of gold, an in-site currency you'll be able to earn from different activities and that will be used to purchase cosmetics in our in-site shop.
Submission Rules
In order for your run to count towards the challenge, you'll have to provide an appropriate proof of your feat; otherwise, your result won't count. To be precise, you will have to reply to this forum thread including:
- a picture of how your run ended;
- a picture of your starting deck;
- a picture(s) of your final deck.
- any other information you want: even though it's not necessary, it may help other players or generate a discussion!
Remember that we have to make sure you actually played following the rules, so please help us in doing so - disqualifying players feels bad, and we'd want to avoid it if possible!
Challenge Rewards
Here's a quick breakdown explaining the rewards you'll receive based on your performances:
TOTAL WINS | GOLD EARNED |
Best result (both Casual and Heroic) | 200 |
12 | 100 |
10-11 | 50 |
8-9 | 20 |
7 | 10 |
Moreover, who will obtain the best score in the least amount of will also have the chance of suggesting the next challenge's theme!
The winner will be contacted through Direct Messages, where the next challenge's theme will be discussed. In case no one will be able to hit 12 wins before the deadline, the next challenge's theme will be decided by none less than Avalon himself.
Time Criteria
Those which follow are the time criteria we'll use to determine the winner in case of identical scores:
- An Heroic run will be considered more difficult than a Casual one, therefore Heroic players will have the priority.
- If you get the best score overall with a 10-wins run in Casual and somebody else gets a 10-wins run in Heroic, the latter will be the winner of the challenge.
- In case of more people getting the same score, the winner will be decided by the submission time.
- If more players will get to 12 wins, losses will count as well: a 12-0 will be considered better than a 12-2 or a 12-1.
- You could get the highest score on the first day as well as on the last day of the challenge, but if someone submits the same score before you do, then they'll be the winner.

Spice Lord and self-proclaimed Meme Master.
I chose to play rogue and I was planning to do some cool combos with Circus Medic and Y'Shaarj, the Defiler. Ended up getting Meek Mastery as my first passive and it pretty much hard-carried me though the 12 wins. Also got double battlecries, which helped a lot, and actually got me a few wins with the Medic by simply bouncing it 1 or 2 times. Never actually got to play Y'Shaarj, but hey I filled all the requirements listed in the OP. :)

End Result
Honestly I am pretty impressed someone was able to hit 12 wins this fast - definitely well played!
Rogue was a class I didn't consider optimal, but I am glad you were able to prove me wrong :)
For those who would like to give dib's deck a go, here's all the info you need.
Passive Treasures Chosen
First pool - Meek Mastery
Second pool - Battle Totem
Congratulations again for your noteworthy result! Let's see if someone will be able to do better!!

Thanks! It definitely wasn't optimal, in normal circumstances the only corrupt card I'd keep is the Medic. The other ones were just there to fill the requirements.
Honestly I didn't expect to get far with this deck, just goes to show the power of Meek Mastery.
Went with Ping Priest and added Insight, Auspicious Spirits and Circus Medic. Did not end up playing Y'Shaarj once in my run. Felt like I could have gone 12 wins with Rally the troops but lost to a Pally with Stargazing and a Murloc Shaman who got my Thoughtsteal into Shadow Vision into give Lifesteal to his board the turn I had lethal. Enjoying the challenge so far and will try a different deck since I really want to get to play Y'Shaarj at least once :). All my runs are Heroic btw.

Hi,
I normally lurk and check the Duels decks on your site since I suck at deck building myself and need to get ideas from others most of the time :D
I noticed the event on and I remembered the taunt druid deck regiskillbin played recently. I thought ok I can try this and changed it a bit
The sad part is I forgot to take a screenshot of my deck at the start of my run. However I always use HSReplay deck tracker so I will share replays of my all matches. Even If I'm not eligible for the competition I wanted to share my deck since I had so much fun and got a 12-1 win on Casual. This is the second time I've ever make it to 12 wins.
I wanted to play Taunt Druid but since I don't have Greybough I didn't bother with Nzoth and decided to go with Clown/Survival of the Fittest package. Since I unfortunately got Sheldras Moontree on my packs I thought maybe I can get lucky and cast some big spells with It and included two more big spells Cenarion Ward and Best In Shell. I wanted not to play cheap spells because of Sheldras and added some discover cards for starting matches.
I luckily got offered Meek Mastery on first bucket, since there are awesome neutral taunts I was very happy. On second bucket I got offered Endurance Training and from that point most of my games were just bulldozing everyone with huge and wide boards at early game and people couldn't keep up with all those stats. Ended up not using Y'shaarj or Sheldras that much, my only loss was against a bomb warrior on my third match before the Endurance Training, where I made a terrible choice to fill my board with 2/2's got rancored and lost the game.
Here is my replays:

Hey there - thanks for creating a profile and joining this challenge!
I am happy that you were enjoying our usual Duels content, and even more that you decided to step forward :)
For the submission, no worries: we create a set of rules because we don't want anyone to exploit the system at the expense of other users. Yes, we ask for a deck list screenshot at the beginning of the run, but you literally posted all the replays of your run, which I consider equivalent of a proof if not even stronger.
Also, congratulations: you've currently taken the lead of this challenge!

Btw I've been trying to compete myself.
Despite a considerable amount of runs, the best one so far has been an 8-3 in Casual with Neo's Miracle Priest.
Here's the proof (both starting and final deck).

Went through quite a few more runs, really trying to make Warlock run since it has great Corrupt targets but best run so far was 6 wins. Here is another run going with a great starter (Murloc Shaman) deck but adding Corrupt package. Did not get to play Y'Shaarj given how quickly the games went.
You improved your most recent score: congratulations! I'll update the leaderboard to resemble it.
