I think I'm iv seen my auto build if I don't pull in a pack
Mill Rogue incoming? This will certainly be a boon for that archetype in Wild, and in Standard it's at least a solid tempo boost and value tool in a class whose hero power becomes pretty irrelevant after the early stages of the game.
INSANE card. Sure it comes out a bit late, but Vanish is FINALLY back! AND it also gives you immediate board presence AND you have that insane hero power! That hero power is SOOO good. So much mana cheat and i bet some combos will be more easely doable thanks to Shadowcrafter Scabbs! Loving these hero cards so far, so much lategame or control stuff. I LOVE IT!
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Arena: Vanish wasn't great because it was anti-tempo in a class that is all about tempo, but Shadowcrafter Scabbs summons 2 4/2 stealthed bodies afterward. That drastically makes up for the tempo loss.
Wild: Don't know if this replaces Valeera the Hollow in Mill decks, but this new hero definitely has a place in there. Other decks might be interested as well as this basically the rogue version of The Amazing Reno except 3 mana cheaper.
Standard: Pretty much mandatory in every deck.
Arena > Wild > Standard
The only reason why you wouldn't run this Scabbs in every single one of your Rogue deck is if you're playing a Turbo Combo deck like Garrote Rogue.
Hey, you heard about that Mario guy?
Autoinclude on every Rogue deck, strongest Hero card ATM.
By The Holy Light!
Card is really really good. 7 mana Vanish that also puts 2x Jungle Panthers in play. The Hero Power is a bonus to set up a big play after as well!
This card is TURBO BUSTED. Vanish, 8 face damage and insane mana cheat potential in 1 card, with free armor on top. This will get nerfed no doubt.
Well, guess we get our broken Scabbs after all. Mill Rogue in wild will go nuts for this card. The 4/2's with stealth are alright, but the biggest problem will be the HP and all the mana cheat shenanigans that will ensue.
Probably one of the better hero mercenaries but lets wait till we see them all first.
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
The only good thing this card offers is that it essentially board swings in 99% of all games.
But at 7 mana, and the hp being what it is, you're really just banking on the board swing to do the job for you, which it might. The hp allows you to do more shenanigans with ending games, like using new alex, or just plain wicked stab + something else.
It'll see play courtesy of its battlecry (which honestly makes every other hero card's battlecry so far looks infinitely like shit in comparison), which allows rogue a clean break on 7, that is if it survives till 7.
battlecry is insane, unlockable board clear while gaining you tempo on board. If you're running battle cry minions (as rogue usually is) the Vanish effect on your end of the board isn't even a downside.
On top of that, you get to mana cheat a card every turn.
I can't find a reason you don't run this in any rogue deck. It's 1 card that doesn't need support with a very swingy effect.
Agreed that this is the best hero card revealed so far.
I wouldn't say this is an auto-include for any Rogue deck: for instance, Garrote Rogue likes cheap Battlecries that let Field Contact draw cards and SI:7 Rogue wants to find its SI:7 to complete the Quest. Neither wants to be staring at a 7-Cost Hero that could have been something cheaper. I do like it, a lot, though, and think it could potentially do some busted stuff once that Hero Power gets rolling.
I don't want to cure cancer; I want to turn people into dinosaurs.
Well yeah, but then again, this is a board wipe on a deck that needs board wipes. Also, the Hero Power gives your Field Contact extra draws without needing Shadowstep. Shadowcrafter Scabbs reminds me of Loatheb as the tempo bomb played the turn before you go for lethal that also doubles as a last minute board clear if you're far away for Bleeding your opponent to death.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
With Vanish rotated out of standard, this will be an autoinclude in nearly every Rogue deck
I've never really been able to wrap my head around why Vanish is so great, since it also returns your stuff to your hand. The hero power is near broken, so there's that anyway.
Wow ... insane card! This will be played in every Rogue Deck whatsoever!
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
This is the kind of hero cards that gets your both Hyped-up and scared for the following meta ..!
5/5
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
Might be the best of the Hero cards. Unconditional board reset that leaves you with 8-damage on board, ,which by itself is already setup for Battlemaster.
Seriously makes me question whether we have to nerf Battlemaster again.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Good but boring.
The problem I have with this card is that instead of encouraging specific builds that maybe do use or don't use the hero, this is just an auto include in EVERY rogue deck (including quest rogue). This just feels....weak from a design perspective (as in, strong but boring effect, not a weak card....as in weak developers who can't come up with anything other than vanish on a hero.)
Also it feels weird for vanish to be rotated out, but then to be reclaimed on a hero. It's similar to my opinion on charge: Why rotate it out, why get rid of it, why create a more balanced version of charge (aka rush) and then re-release charge cards? It feels like there's 2 different visions at work on team 5, and it's a battle on who wins the stupid balance argument of the year award.

This card easily will be the most strong one of the expansion, is just bonkers. Vanish, Preparation and two 4/2 with stealth, very very strong
Vanish was hated enough to be HoF'd but yeah, here it comes! Battlecry has a lot of value but I am not yet sure of which deck would like to include it 100%.
Nice board control and amazing value hero power. It essentially gives you 12 mana on every turn, not counting the other discount effects Rogue can do. If only there weren't so many thief rogue cards this expansion.
Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.
That's another card we've seen return - Vanish was rightfully removed from Rogue's core suite of cards, but I guess only being able to run one copy of this is enough of a safety valve (as well as being an expansion card).
Welcome to the site!
Vanish is back baby. This together with the new Paladin Hero card are probably the strongest two.
Mass sap, and the hero power is pretty good too. Probably will see play in most Rogue decks.
Class identity politics ended so quickly.
