The final day of the ongoing Battle for Alterac Valley has come, and it's all official now: after being in the lead for the past few weeks, the Alliance faithful got to solidify their advantage over the Horde followers! If you were following along with this Honor event, it perhaps doesn't come as such a great surprise.
Quote From Blizzard Congratulations to the winning faction of the Battle of Alterac Valley:For Azeroth. For the Alliance!
This marks the end of the competition that split Hearthstone players into two separate camps based on their choice between Drek'Thar and Vanndar Stormpike, and ran from the very release of Fractured in Alterac Valley on December 7 up until today on January 11 (even though the whole Honor system went online before that). Perhaps now at least some individuals might be able to relax with their unending Honor grind. Expect your Diamond card reward to arrive at a later date!
But Where Are My Numbers?
If you were expecting detailed stats, graphs, or any other extra information about the event, it looks like a little more patience is in order:
Quote From Nicholas 'DeckTech' Weiss Congrats to the Alliance! Everyone can look out for a longer form blog post with some more detailed stats, coming within the next week or so.
Perhaps we'll be able to find out how many billions of Honor were collected in total, how many people participated on each side, or which players might've scored the highest amount.
And don't worry if you still have a lot of Honor to collect and many ranks to achieve to reach the end of your Legendary Questline. It is a ton of games needed after all, but there are still good 3 months left to get there at your leisure. Even afterwards, these Golden cards should still be available for completing specific achievements.
Quote From Blizzard The period for tallying the winning faction is from December 7 to January 11, but you can collect Honor to complete your personal Legendary Quest Chain at any point throughout the Fractured in Alterac Valley expansion. After the expansion period, the Legendary Quest Chain will be replaced with another means to earn these rewards.
Are you happy with the Alliance triumph, or too busy mourning for the Horde? What kind of stats from the event would you love to see next week?

Scratch that, you need therapy
You need to grow up kid.
They can annoy a lot of people by making cards exclusive, or make more people happy playing their game by giving everyone something to enjoy.
I think most would merely need to be a human with normal amounts of empathy to make the right decision here.
I knew they were going to give away the card to everyone regardless and this is exactly why the “event” was meaningless. Trying to imply I’m a soulless troll with no feelings or caring for others tells me a lot about you. My comment criticized the people who make the game not those who play it. By the way the NFL announced both teams who play in the Super Bowl will be declared champions and will receive a trophy. The score will not even be kept because keeping score is offensive and can cause feelings of exclusion. If the NFL really announced this do you think anyone would even care to watch the game ? W
Except this isn't the NFL, its a card game where resources are created out of thin air. NFL players are paid high salaries to win, and likewise its audience pays a huge price to watch them butt heads against one another. NFL players would spend a third of their lives training in preparations, all in an effort to be the best in the game, and despite it all a majority of them will never make it big.
Conversely hearthstone is none of those things. It is instead a game where a majority spend naught but an hour a day in, unpaid, where people come in and out in an effort to have fun. Its a game, not a sport, not a big part of our lives.
So let's assume that team5 really did make certain cards exclusive to winners, and that this Alterac event had high stakes attached where winners take all. Well, then they'd find out that the majority would simply not engage in it and at least half of its playerbase would come out pissed and move on to another game. And the next attempt at an event will likely be even worse in terms of player engagement. Its likely less an emotional decision, but a rational one designed to keep the vast majority of its playerbase happy
Not everything in life needs to be a race. I don't wake up every morning, do my 12 hour job, come back and attend to my second job - unpaid - called hearthstone.
Happy we won, but ngl feel a little bit screwed over that I now I need to continue grinding to get the other legendary, and have to stop opening packs because the refund period is over, while the "losing" faction receives the other legendary immediately. At least give Alliance players specifically some kind of cosmetic reward so we actually get something for winning, instead of getting a flat-out worse deal.
Imagine worrying that you're not going to make it to the top honor rank before the end of the expansion and thinking that you had absolutely any effect on Alliance winning 😂😂
You actually want something for winning ? How dare you!
sorry but you won’t get that from woke blizzard .
I remember almost always losing bgs in wow when playing for the Alliance, the Horde just always seemed stronger. However in epic bgs (Alterac Valley was one of them) the Alliance has won a lot more often. Cool stuff and great event.
Alliance won Alterac Valley? Is it a joke? Never saw that happening the whole 5 years I played WoW (Classic till Pandaria)... Now I know that Hearthstone is not set in the same Timeline as WoW :P
Me neither, sometimes I thought that it was something like an autoconcede for alliance on Vanilla times.
We used to simul-queue back in Vanilla (before group queuing for AV was a thing) as Alliance and blitz through it to help get Sicnus to server number 1. Good Times.
I was gonna support Alliance regardless, but it is kind of a shame. I was like, "I'll pick golden Vanndar and get a free diamond Drek'thar when the event is over! Horde is a shoe-in to win, 'cause Horde always wins this stuff!"
RIP
I feel a lot who joined Alliance had the same sentiment lol
I'm very happy my faction won, though i won't lie, Drek is the better legendary of the two and would have been the better option for the diamond treatment.
Congratulation to the Alliance.
This battle is over... but the Horde never gives up!
That's a sick mug!

Alright, that was indeed silly, and already enough. Sorry everyone, got It.
