Well.
Fuck.
I thought Quest hunter would be somewhat balanced out by not having access to Professor Slate anymore so big minions are an issue. Apparently we needed to give them an even better Slate for 1-mana that you can run two copies of.
They'll nerf Quest Hunter within a week, I'll bet money on that one.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Slate on a stick. I think it's strong, as this also now refreshes quest hunters hero power ass well. I'm hesitant to call it broken, but surely will find a place in new age quest hunter if board based decks are strong. Super good combo with Barbed Nets

So nice of them to replace Professor Slate with something that is probably not going to see a lot of play. It's just the tiniest bit inflexible, and a lot harder to justify putting in any deck, even Questline. We'll see, because it does have Naga and Raj synergies, but my guess is that it's just a little bit too clunky.
I don't want to cure cancer; I want to turn people into dinosaurs.
I can see some comments about this breaking quest hunter, but I really doubt you'd run more than 1 copy in your deck.
Anything that doesn't progress quest or pressure face doesn't fit into the gameplan, and this card is only properly powerful once quest is completed. Will anyone actually hold this in your hand waiting for the perfect time to play it? At least slate is a 3/4 spidertank that requires an answer.
Outside of quest hunter? Well, it fits more into combo hunter actually. Playing control until you get your rajs, and twinbows. Its also a cheap spell that activates twinbow, so that's something at least.
This seems bonkers for Quest Hunter. Nice cheap spell and with another cheap spell you could clear a big minion too ...
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
Very cheap tech card for Quest Hunter to remove big minions so this will be seeing a lot of play and Quest Hunter is going to get even more annoying 😒
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
Professor Slate but in the form of a spell. I want to say that this seems bad, but in Defend the Dwarven District hunter this can keep them alive, refresh their hero power and it's only 1 mana compared to Professor Slates 3 mana, which makes Urchin Spines a lot more flexible. I actually see this getting played, maybe as a 1 off at the very least.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
If I recall, Professor Slate didn't see much play. I imagine he rarely survived more than one turn, and left you with 3 less mana for spells, as opposed to this which only takes 1 mana, so you can have a turn easily removing your opponent's minions. If you play Explosive Trap after this, does Trap keep poisonous until it triggers, or just for that turn? That seems to be the only Hunter spell which can damage all enemy minions.
Cheap AoE never been deadlier ^^
I shouldn't have licked that.
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
"Zounds, Barov! I've turned myself into an Urchin!" -Professor Slate, probably.
Hey, you heard about that Mario guy?
It's cheap and strong, so it might be worth running since it also resets the hero power for Quest Hunter. Not a bad defensive tool to have!
