Welp, if I pull this, it's going straight into my Hadronox Druid. :D
Seems like a decent follow-up to ramping with Nourish. It being a one-of limits how useful it is to build a deck around though. In theory you could tutor this card with Capture Coldtooth Mine, but then you can't include any other 8+ mana cards in your deck, which reduces its usefulness considerably.
Maybe you'd just put this in as the 30th/40th card in a deck and accept that it sometimes low-rolls. Even if it discounts something that was already cheap, it still draws you closer to your good cards, which is useful in particular if you're running a 40-card deck.
Trash
No way to 1/1 copy Recruit this?
Meh.
So have we seen all the murder suspects now?
After seeing so much druid bs, this one is relatively tame.
Without immediate triggers like Hedge Maze, this card just does nothing the first turn and can easily be ignored. Since there's yet to be any revive mechanics revealed for druid, that means one card is all you get from druid which may not be bad, but what exactly is this card accomplishing? Its not like druid can't already play multiple completely broken stuff per turn thanks to guff anyway
There simply needs be more support for deathrattles before this becomes a true menace.
I'm not sold on it being a strong card, but that doesn't mean an 8/8 with taunt can "easily be ignored". Unless you have enough reach to kill the druid with spells that turn, ignoring it really isn't an option.
I actually missed the fact that it had taunt. Okay then, guess it just got a little higher in my books.
Still, in a sea of insane end game cards from druid, this is just a tiny little sardine swimming in a shark tank.
Hedge Maze is looking better and better now
Better, but I’m not convinced. Deathrattle decks play minions, preferably on curve. So, you’re likely not gonna draw a big minion and I don’t know if drawing a free 4-drop is worth an inclusion.
But who knows, there may be an interesting combo on the way
I wonder... if the DR Druid package flops, could we see Hadronox in the 2023 Core Set? 🤔 I don't think it's completely out of the question (after printing Bless, they threw Lyra the Sunshard and Radiant Elemental into this year's set), and I for one certainly wouldn't mind having yet another way to bury aggro decks!
Keep in mind that Druid will have actual deathrattle support this expansion
Broken
If by broken you mean so bad it won't see play... yeah, an 8 mana that draws me a free Peasant and Renathal is just amazing. Very broken.
8 mana on druid means nothing, btw in wild still exist hadronox, this minion have big body and taunt plus can draw minions from deck.
3 months later and it's played in .5% of decks with a 45% winrate. Yep, broken
cries in rogue
This is too slow to do anything impactful. You would rather just play a big minion than draw a free one through this.
You need to keep in mind Vanndar Stormpike is a thing for any big minions, it could always just click.
Vanndar is redundant in Druid because of Guff. Either is fine, but both are too much and Guff is much stronger than Vanndar.
