Giftwrapped Whelp is the perfect 1 drop for dragon druid. Absolutely love it and that art is too cute
Observer of Mysteries might be troublesome in arena if highroll happens.
If there is no paladin secrets depending to the rotation, it has good value even secrets are temporary.
At least a playable neutral demon, Amalgams are leaving so it might be included in some menagerie decks, mostly casual but seems fun.
Well, here's my opinion on the more interesting cards.
Factory Assemblybot - In my opinion, this card will never see play outside of a big deck and even then Id contend this is not good enough. 10 mana cards need to either win you the game, threaten to win you the game, or easily cheated out. This card does none of those things, and ironically cheating this out without playing it from hand means you miss out on the most important thing this card does.
Origami Dragon - Depending on the meta this card can be incredibly busted. It flips the board for you, and heal you back. Only problem is that against reactive decks this card is just useless. So a better Zilliax then I guess.
Plucky Paintfin - Played only for the tutoring effect which for a neutral card might be important. Poisonous is just a bonus, never realistically a feature youd put this card into your deck for.
Cosplay Contestant - If you can remember one of the worse legendaries ever printed, Harbinger Celestia. Yeah, this is that card. Will it see play? No.
Bucket of Soldiers - Not gonna lie, this card is scary. Deceptively innocent but when you consider that you have a high chance of getting taunt, divine shield and reborn 1/1s on board for cracking this egg, and the fact that certain decks punishes you heavily for leaving things on board, this card is an easy win. Only problem is how to crack it consistently. But Id imagine thats not a big issue for those that would play it.
Tar Slime - Will prob never see play because a 2/3 on 1 is no longer special. Just like how Tar Creeper itself has not seen play since ungoro, there's no reason to believe this card will.
Giftwrapped Whelp - Cute little thing. But really, its a Flame Imp. Good in midrange dragon decks and nothing else.
Tar Slime is an excellent defensive minion, very cute, referring to his older brother Tar Creeper.
Scarab Keychain would be legally playable which unlike the other scarabs (Jeweled Scarab and Golden Scarab) which are very slow.
Giftwrapped Whelp officially declared him the cutest minion in the expansion (temporarily until all the cards are revealed) a 3/2 aggressive minion is good for the dragon or managerie archetypes.
Plucky Paintfin is ok.
Messmaker is a better Unstable Ghoul that only affects enemies but I honestly don't think it's playable.
Cosplay Contestant is too hot and Valeera's outfit makes her look sexier than her (personally) but even with that sensuality she won't be played with even if she is a superior version of Harbinger Celestia.
Bucket of Soldiers, I'm already tired of them continuing to release more cards with the text BONUS EFFECTS because they are always the same without much creativity since since the adventurers of the Forged in the Barrens expansion came out they have been the same, removing the effect of Spell Damage and changing it by Reborn. Unplayable although I would put it in a version of The Caverns Below and it still feels bad because there are better options.
Caricature Artist I love that the text is not limited only to a technical level, which the card does, also adding some juice and expression.
Workshop Janitor came out at the worst time when all the Murder at Castle Nathria locations are gone, and it is also very slow to play because drawing 2 cards is already done by any card in modern Hearthstone.
By the way, the "funny mustache" referenced in Caricature Artist is confirmed to be the mustache from Evil Twin in Battlegrounds. It does actually "do something" beyond flavor text, even if it has no actual gameplay relevance.
Does Mini work like Battlecry?
What if Recruit Warrior the Minis from my deck?
I'm going to assume you mean Miniaturize instead of Mini.
Judging by the way it's written on the expansion page, Miniaturized minions should need to be properly played from the hand to get the Mini copies. But if you cheat them out, you'll still get the full-size body on the board. You just won't get the Mini in your hand.
So yes, basically Battlecry.
I understand you don't want us to play the full Factory Assemblybot and the Mini version together on the same turn, but...10-Mana? For that?
If they didn't want us to play both, we wouldn't have Audio Amplifier.
Mmm. You would think the point is that you're supposed to cheat it out someway, but then you don't get the mini version in your hand. Perhaps there's some synergy with a card yet revealed that lowers the highest cost card in your hand or something.
Why is the Mini version of Factory Assemblybot not a Mech?
Because Blizzard.
It is, the revealer got the wrong asset, and it looks like it's also the wrong one in the DB.
My guess is they want to prevent it from being magnetized of buffed too much from mech buffs. Like playing it and then magnetizing a DS or stealth or reborn spark as a rogue, to say the first that comes to mind.
