Keep in mind this post contains datamined content. Datamined content may not be accurate.
Yesterday a new patch was deployed to Hearthstone which prepares us for the Rise of Shadows pre-release weekend and full launch next week on April 9th. We've datamined some important information for the Rise of Shadows questline all players will get to participate in.
The Questline
There are five quests in total and they are given out in a certain order. Here they are!
- Play 25 Cards in Play mode.
- Play 3 games in Play mode.
- Draw 20 cards in any mode.
- Win 1 game in Play mode.
- Play 100 cards.
The Rewards
Each quest rewards a different amount of card packs. This is where things get a little funky and may not be completely accurate. It looks like we're going to be getting 12 card packs in total.
- 2 Rise of Shadows Packs
- 2 Rise of Shadows Packs
- 2 Rise of Shadows Packs
- 2 Rise of Shadows Packs
- 4 Rise of Shadows Packs
Again, this is datamined information and is subject to change.
Comments
Thanks for this, although, I wish they were a bit more creative with the quests!
what do you mean be more creative with the quests? the only way I can see these being more 'creative' would be to add specific classes or play modes. having specific classes is mainly just annoying for me, and I would imagine others feel the same way. and having specific play modes would not work either because the tavern brawl wont be out, and you can't make players spend money on the arena in order to complete a quest, so that just leaves the solo content. and no one wants to play that first thing when a adventure launches.
I really hope it ends up being true.. I need them packs!
Will we see a thread featuring all RoS flavour texts?
Free packs are always welcome!
Finally they're starting to give more free packs around. The loss of players maybe will wake up Blizzard and bring us some interesting and necessary changes all around HS (but the deletation of Tournament Mode sure was not a step in the right direction).
12 packs in total is alot
Awesome, a lot of packs.
I know it's different subject, but i don't like in new expansion only 1 thing - adventure will be released only after 1 month. I want playing it after 1 week not 1 month waiting with 2800 gold and with waiting 15 packs.
Thanks, I'll take it!
If we get 12 packs for free I will probably buy the wings for the solos content with gold. I'm f2p so it's hard to justify for me otherwise. But 9 more packs than usual will be enough roi for me to enjoy ;-)
I would not buy the adventures with golden unless you really enjoying playing against the bosses.
spending 2800 gold on 12 packs is really bad, you are losing 16 packs, to get zayle, and a golden pack. so unless you think that zayle and the golden pack are worth 1600 gold, then I would not buy it at all.
Yes I know, but I assumed 3 free packs. Now if this will be 12 I will have an additional 9. If I would just count this toward the adventure it means I pay 700 gold for a golden pack and solo content. The solo content (fun aspect) is worth enough to me to spend that. I'll complete the first chapter first before making a real decision ;-)
Same thoughts ! People are just looking at the rewards but thats not the point of an adventure, it's more for enjoying a big solo content, just like you were paying for playing wow etc !
That said, removing the free solo content may be not cool, because they gave us this solo content since a year now and it's in our habits. I don't really know what to think about all of this, it feels kinda weird in my head right now.
Awesome. When do we get those quests?
when the expansion launches on the 9th.
Has anything else been datamined? I feel like before the dataminig posts had more information in them. Is it because Blizzard made it harder to look into or is the information just not worth it?
On it boss.
By the way I was genuinely asking whether they're making it harder if they really don't like the information being mined. Didn't want to sound like and ass (sorry if that's the case).
Thanks for all the hard work you're putting in!
There's definitely been changes to the way some of the data is structured nowadays. It was a lot easier to determine rewards on old-style quests, now it all goes through their bag reward system which is a mess of numbers.
I suspect they have some other trickery in place though too because the 12 RoS packs seemed kinda weird, especially since the first four quests all trigger different reward bags and then the final quest triggers all four.
Thanks for the reply!
Regarding this particular quest chain they did mention in one of the press kits (if I remember correctly) that we'll be getting a series of quest with packs from RoS AND other expansions as well. Maybe some of those series of 2 packs are from Boomsday, Rastakhan, etc.
I honestly hope they stick to mostly RoS because that's what most of us would prefer, though I can absolutely imagine the other scenario as well.
