- Darkmoon Faire: Acquired by winning 5 games in ranked mode during the October 2019 season.
Game Improvements & Bug Fixes
- Cards that Discover from a random pool no longer apply a class bonus. As Discover pools have gotten more specific, some are too narrow and repetitive. This change will increase the variety of cards from random Discover pools.
- Fixed an issue causing the mouse cursor to become the eye cursor after exiting the Tavern in Tombs of Terror
- Dire Frenzy should now properly generate golden cards if the target minion is golden
- Hero powers rewarded from Quest cards should now properly become visually disabled on the turn the Hero power is rewarded if Mindbreaker is in play
- Elise the Enlightened will now duplicate cards in hand from left to right, instead of randomly
- Newly discovered Hero powers from Sir Finley of the Sands should now properly become visually disabled if Mindbreaker is in play
- Fixed several visual and sound issues when a Hero power is replaced (either by Quest completion or Sir Finley of the Sands) after the original Hero power was already used that turn
Comments
This is a gigantic nerf to warrior, honestly it's a larger nerf than moving boom to 9 mana. You play flunky almost exclusively to discover the three taunts in the warrior class. Omega assembly and delivery drone discover less omegaLULs and tomb wardens now, which is pretty big.
Definitely had a warrior pull 2 flunkys off the first on turn 6. So not sure if its working as intended
But Elise copying from left to right actually makes decision points easier
Discover change and it’s effects:
- warriors don‘t find Omega devestator that often anymore
- less consistant results from frightened flunky and stonehill defender
- some arena cards are weakend. The scarabs etc.
- spell discovery remains unchanged (all of hunter and mage)
- Pretty sure, Zephrys is not affected
- Rogues burgle discovers are not affected
==> This is allmost exclusivly a warrior nerf!
I had my doubts at first but this nerf touches exactly the bad aspects of the mechanic: consistant overpowered results.
They finally nerfed Stonehill Defender
New Board
it's cool, actually i really didn't liked the first one of the exp, didn't have new interaction and stuff ( it would be nice to see another interaction like the volcano one in Un'goro)
There is an eruption on the fingernail piano you need to play the explorers league theme.
I just saw the new board in a game and was like "Oh sweet! The new board is out." Then after a few seconds I said to myself, "Wait... new board?!?!" I like it! Maybe we'll start getting two new boards per expansion so I have more variety of things to click on while getting roped!
Wow what a gigantic nerf to all discover cards. Sure in standard warrior is hit heavily but the whole game got a major hit. Discovering class cards is always fundamental. Rip stonehill defender
I wasn't aware of the visual problems with hero powers, but I have a related concern. Does anyone else think the animation of getting a new hero power from a Quest takes too long? In a recent game, I killed a Rotten Applebaum which completed the priest's Obelisk quest, and it took so long to resolve the animation I almost didn't get all my other attacks in.
maybe the problem there is that your timer doesn't extend its lenght because it count as a opponent interaction (if you play a long effect, like upgrading Your hero power from quest, it does)
Thought Elise already worked like that... Anyway good changes but not sure what will 2nd nerf do to Warrior. It wasn't dead by any means but wasn't at the top of Tier 1 either. This change makes it much harder to beat slower decks. Hopefully it won't push Warrior out of the meta.
Yeah, I see the reasoning behind the discover nerf. But it is obviously a nerf- just without reimbursement. Which, considering the amount of discover cards, would have cost them a far amount of revenue.
Nice stealth nerf to Warrior.
I don't think it's really stealthy. It's just a direct nerf to cards like Flunky that are just way too strong on account of the class having only a handful of options
I was curious about the discover mechanic and Flunky. It discovered Armagedillo so much. I guess this is a good change for the game but I am sad I won't get to drop 3 Armagedillo's in a single game anymore.
Not being able to drop 3 Armagedillo's in a game in healthy for the game.
Judging by the downvote people don't realize that I know that it is healthy for the game and I don't hold it against them. It is actually quite a smart fix to tone down some very powerful cards with one change rather than changing each card. I think it is a great change overall. I just will miss overpowered shenanigans.
Just to be clear: This was the right thing to do and I am glad they did it. It is better for the game and it is a great way to bring down the power of several cards without destroying them. I just personally feel sad by the change because I had fun with some of the craziness from weighted discover pools.
The change on the discovery mechanic is a very good change, pretty sure we will not see 4 or 5 devastators in the same game making the match more fair for everyone.
