Not really sure why this has lifesteal, feels sort of tacked on there.. Taunt would of made it a Flunkey, divine shield fits better but I'd of liked to of seen adapt..
Overall Great Card. 2/3 body is worth 2 mana, and discover a card is worth 1 mana, so that makes it good balanced already. On top of this it has Lifesteal. This is great! After All, most paladins love healing.
Note: it can discover your Turn 4, 8/8 dragon. (Forgot the name... whoops) And on Tempo, but it's going to be a bit harder because of the discover nerf, But even still it is still a chance if you haven't pulled that card yet.
Struggling to place this right now. It's looking like a fit for two draconic variants - a 'typical' control late-game Paladin as a value card and early game drop, but also as a midrange dragon paladin enabler. Bronze Herald was (in theory) midrange dragon support as well as handbuff support, though that never materialised.
On the fence over here. The Talitha synergy might be enough to push it over the edge, but in either case realistically this is only seeing play if draconic decks become a thing.
I expected this guy to have Divine Shield, but I guess Lifesteal also makes sense.
Just to ask, should we craft a Cathedral Gargoyle?
Highlander Paladin was sort of a thing here and there, we got all these dragons incoming and and there's all these dragon-related cards sitting around the pally's toolbox ...
/oh, and ARTICLE IDEA: cards from the past five and classic that might get in vogue with the upcoming Standard meta ...
I'm going to put this in all my paladin decks. When I lose I wouldn't care one bit so long as I get to play this at least once
A common? I'm crafting this cute card golden for sure.
Mehhhh, after introducing a 5 mana 4/6 dragon that heals for 8, do you really value this lifesteal? You only play this card because there is a legendary card that synergises with having many dragons in the deck and hand.
The least impactefull dragon explorer of the four.
I'm a bit confused. I thought for sure the keyword for this was going to be Divine Shield. That's a Paladin thing, right? I mean, Paladins are good with healing as well but Lifesteal? Bloodsucking warriors of light. Alright. The card is good. That's it.
You're talking about the class that uses secrets, forces primitive fish-things into military service and makes mummies, right?
/Uther is a liar; he fights with no honor.
To be fair, Lifesteal has been a Paladin thing since before Lifesteal was even a keyword when they got Wickerflame Burnbristle.
In the set where Lifesteal officially became a keyword, they got Chillblade Champion, but even their Death Knight, Uther of the Ebon Blade also had Lifesteal in some way.
In the following sets, they've also got Paragon of Light, Crystalsmith Kangor, Shirvallah, the Tiger, Lightforged Blessing, and Ancestral Guardian. The groundwork for Lifesteal as a primary or secondary keyword for Paladin is there.
Yeah, but it still feels weird. Lifesteal as a word implies things like draining the life essence of other living creatures and that's certainly not a thing for warriors of light. I know it's just a game mechanic and a keyword but it doesn't feel quite right. That's just how i see it. It's not a big deal.
I could be wrong as it's been a while since I've played WoW, but I believe the healing spec of paladin heals friendly characters as the paladin damages enemies. This is probably where paladin as a "Lifesteal" class came from.
You dont have to think like that.
There are some other ways to steal life other than bloodsucking. It is just a way which some beasts and cursed creatures (like vampires) can do. It should be named as lifedrain which is a lifesteal too.
Some other way can be described like how spectral cutlass does. It steals the life from the soul not from body. You can call it souldrain. It is also a lifesteal.
And paladin's way of lifesteal should be about the Light in living. I mean it drains the source of life. Paladins are religious types tho. They fight with faith. If they think they are fighting for their duty, for their faith, they might feel more poweful so it might give them health. You can think like that. I always imagined it like this.
So lifesteal term contains all of these like how music term contains jazz, Rock, hip-hop, metal etc.
The only thing worries me is how lifesteal works on mechs too. Mechs should have been invulnerable to lifesteal imo. I mean, how can you steal life from A robot? Even undeads are ok because they are biological creatures but mech stuff is ridiculous imo.
Cute!
And the cutest card goes to...
And a solid card too. Paladin will love this
Paladin's got some nice Dragons for this card to discover, so probably pretty good.
Also that little guy looks adorable!
I really expected this to be a 1 drop, probably because of the cute art.
The 3 mana slot for Dragon decks is not very crowded (just Bronze Herald, Brightwing and Dragonrider Talritha), so it should see decent amount of play.
Lifestal is really nasty: a big up to an already good minion
Nice target for Dragonrider Talritha for sure.
Also great target for handbuffs from Dragon Speaker and Glowstone Technician
