I don't think the Treants can comprehend the plans. xD
Treenforcements gets 5 stars for the name alone!!!
The spell looks great, the legendary, unfortunately, does not. As a card is not bad per se, but about 80% of treant related cards are early game and mid-game at best, and this card coming on turn 7 - when on curve - is a massive negative. Sure, you can curve into The Forest's Aid, but... is that worth it? We'll see.
One more attempt to push Treant Druid forward. I really want the archetype to work so i'm happy with the extra support. Treenforcements curves very well into Dendrologist which never saw play in the archetype despite being created for it because it couldn't be played on curve without losing the battlecry. The legendary provides a good body to protect you while empowering your trees. Curves right into The Forest's Aid. With any copy effect (Flobbidinous Floop, Splintergraft), you could create some really big trees. Mulchmuncher is still available as well. But Druid has quest and dragons as options. Treants are available for almost 2 years without any meaningful play and people will most likely try new decks instead of Tree Druid. It may be a bit too late for the archetype but let's wait and see.
Not good enough to boost token druid, but ramping could make it fun, but why ramp tonolay little things when you can play big ass dragons on turn 5?
because dragons don't work as well with Savage Roar which tends to win games...a lot.
I really wish Goru gave treants +2/+2 considering it comes so late in the game. All things considered, I really want Treant Druid to someday be a reality and these cards push that dream.
Maybe there will be a new neutral/druid bounce card that'll make it stronger
These Puns are not that Treemendous. They're Oakay at Best.
could work with Flobbidinous Floop and make your treants 4/4 and Elise the Enlightened works too if you go late with treants.
Not sure if the legendary is strong enough though
Well maybe quest token druid can be an option, adding the newly revealed embiggen
don't think the quest makes much sense. The Quest deck is already heavy on lategame and bad in the early. At best you'd include The Forest's Aid and Force of Nature, which are pretty bad cards to play from behind.
Treant Druid needs to play at least somewhat tempo-ish, so the best thing to do is run a token build that attempts to get on the board early and then constantly refill occasionally drawing with something like Overflow or Nourish.
Mulchmuncher might be a key element.
I SPEAK FOR THE TREES
Meh. I don't see it working - treant decks have consistently failed to perform since they were first posited, and a single legendary (albeit a great one for the archetype) isn't going to change that. Even dropped on curve it's coming in later than a treant deck wants to spike (they really want to be at a positive or neutral boardstate going into their turn 8, which this card really doesn't push for).
I'm not counting the additional spell in the above analysis, primarily because it doesn't look good for a treant deck to me (amusingly). I -guess- it's a 1-drop that has some form of value to you later on, but... Eh. I suppose if I'm trying to find a reason to like it with that archetype, I'd note that an extra-cheap Treant is a good activator for other Treant synergy cards.
Note, however, that both these cards also have synergy with the Token Druid variant that died out about halfway through last expansion. You skip a lot of the Treant synergy, but when you've got a longer-term board-centric game plan I guess having your Forest's Aid arrive with a POTW already on it is worth a lot on its own.
P.S. I actually started doubting myself halfway through writing this. Maybe the legendary IS enough to salvage a functional archetype. I... really don't think it will, but I guess we'll see.
YES! Finally on curve Dendrologist is possible. The game is saved.
I think Dendrologist is a really sweet card, too bad Treants are bad overall
i would love if treant became a key word. i mean, tribal (?, like murloc
what for. Silverhand Recruits are doing fine without it.
idk, it could also add more interesting mechanics and interactions
EDIT: the tag would also benefit some legendaries and neutral treants.
Curves into The Forest's Aid, but it's still too slow for a real token deck.
The spell is fair enough.
