What lore characters do you think are overdue for an appearance in hearthstone?

So, I'm a fan of the fun and crazy variety of characters in Warcraft lore, and messing around with them in card form is one of the main reasons I play this game. Everything from human knights to lovecraftian old gods to robots is fair game for these characters. That being said, a lot of well-known characters have yet to make an appearance in Hearthstone. What lore characters do you think are overdue for an appearance in hearthstone, and would you rather see them as a Legendary or a hero?

As a big fan of Warcraft 3 TFT, Lady Vash and Prince Kael'thas. I'd say Maiev or Tyrande but they're already portraits.
That isn’t entirely a dealbreaker, Khadgar was a portrait before he was a card after all
Who needs consistency when you could have fun?
Muradin, Kael'thas and Chen are the big ones I would love to see added if possible.
Out of four Elemental Lords, only Therazane is missing if I remember right. Her as a Legendary card would be sweet.
Good point. I guess Medivh exists as a card and a portrait as well. I wonder if that means we might see some of the standard portrait characters as cards as well? I'd love to see Thrall or Gul'dan as playable minions, but at the same time it'd be pretty weird to say control a Thrall as Shaman. That probably wasn't as much of a consideration for alt portraits appearing as minions.
I really want my boy Turalyon to make an apperance at one point or another.
With the characters that they're missing so far, then there will probably be a Burning Legion expansion at one point or another.
Hello and welcome to the Tox Show!
HearthStone was once known as ''HearthStone, Heroes of Warcraft''
I 'member that
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
I would say Muradin and the orc chieftains (Ner'zul, Blackhand, Kargath, Killrogg...). I personaly would like to see them all as legendary minions, because of my "Lore Decks."
I'd love to see Thargas Anvilmar and the Titanic Keepers by the way.
Pepperidge Farm remembers.
Personally, I used to have my own argument that Medivh being a hero and a card was not a sign that heroes can be cards because they're both alternate versions of the character and the only thing they have in common is the name, and this same thing would apply to the DK Heroes as well... although now that Khadgar exists as both a card and character that use the same form, pretty much anything is possible at this point. Personally, I really wouldn't want to see any playable heroes make any appearances as cards because it would be really weird for Gul'dan to be playing... Gul'dan, and Team 5 themselves acknowledged this at one point (although since Khadgar, it seems they don't care about this any more), and if they did this, I would prefer they take an approach like the DK Heroes where they are alternate versions of the character.
By the way, I will also put one out for Kael'thas. Therazane is still missing after the other 3 were available for so long, so I'll give one to her as well. I'd love to see a Caverns of Time expansion, although the Taverns of Time seems to put a damper on that ever happening.
I'm surprised that such a famous hero like Kael'thas is not yet nor a card nor a potrait for Mage (it was during alpha, instead of Jaina, but many of them were different back there).
Also Therazane, the Stone Mother, should be there considering that there are already the other three Elemental Lords.
"For what profit is it to a man if he gains the world, and loses his own soul?"
Oh I hope so, lol. So much that can be drawn from both the Burning Legion itself and all of their worlds, and from the Legion Xpac if we need more class variety.

I like the idea of a Lore Deck, but haven't heard of one before. Care to fill me in on the details on what one is or how to make one?

I'm still waiting for us to get Kil'Jaden and/or Archimonde. We will definately get them if we ever get a Burning Leigon themed expansion so I am hoping.
I really like Archimonde and Kil'jaeden, but they seem impossible to implement in a satisfying way as normal HS cards. They'd almost certainly have to be hero cards that put Jaraxxus, the OG hero card, to shame, in order to reflect their godlike power in the warcraft universe. And I don't see that happening.
They might be cool as final bosses in single player content or some future co-op brawl though. Or maybe you could have a series of busted legendary spells based around their machinations. After all, for all their might most of their meddling in Azeroth's affairs was indirect.
Well, we already got the far more powerful Old Gods as cards, so I don't think Archimonde and Kil'Jaden would be much of a problem. But I agree that they most certainly deserve spots as soon as possible.

Well sure, but the old gods were some of the swingiest, most high-impact minions around back when they were released. Since then we've had Death Knights, 'normal' hero cards, Genn and Baku and more. I think players would be underwhelmed if Archimonde and Kil'jaeden were printed as just big minions with some powerful battlecry.
I think the power level that would feel appropriate for these characters can't be printed in normal hearthstone, but toning it down just to have them as playable cards would do them a disservice as some of the greatest arch-villains in the warcraft universe, if that makes sense. For that same reason i don't think you could ever print a Sargeras card. It'd have to read something like: "Battlecry: You win the game. Delete your opponent's battlenet account."
Well that's one way to make people play the card.
People were already underwhelmed when Khadgar was printed as a 2 mana 2/2.
Kael'thas (one of the early memorable WoW bosses)
Eitrigg (one of Thrall's old advisers)
Ji Firepaw (Horde Pandaren leader)
Magatha Grimtotem (evil and female tauren, a rare pair)
Moira Thaurissan (and the other two Dwarf leaders, Magni and Falstad)
Obscure one I'd like: Katak the Defeated. One of the best voice-overs for a one-off character, a strung-up-to-die bad guy who trash talks everyone in the handful of quests in Mists of Pandaria.
Obscure characters are fun legendary cards because it's fun to learn about them if you have no clue who they are. For example, I had no idea who Grifta was until I looked him up and started noticing him in-game.

I’d like a legendary Gamon!

Would be who I'm still waiting to see!
I want Sylvanas, Nathanos, and a Tauren Hero to choose from. I would KILL if Caine or his son became a new hero for warrior. In general I want more "racial diversity" in my Hearthstone. That sounds really funny on paper.
This.
Plus Falstad Wildhammer in Shaman.
And Lord Jorach Ravenholdt for Rogue (give us a damn male Rogue character!).
Maybe Lady Vash'j for Mage.
Please...no more shaman or mage heroes PLEASE. Rogue, warrior, hunter needs love and attention. Tauren and Undead need love and attention.
Why so selfish?
They can release all of them in time, just increase frequency.
No need of mutual exclusion.
Sylvanas Windrunner, Cairne Bloodhoof and Baine Bloodhoof are already in the game. I suppose that doesn't preclude alternate versions from existing, as with the Old gods "tainted" cards (Hogger, Hogger, Doom of Elwynn, etc.) but it does probably mean they're low on the priority totem.
I'm really surprised there is still no Kael'thas in HS.
At first I thought T5 didn't add him because they wanted to make him a hero. That's fine by me, but now we have a lot of mage heroes, including Khadgar and also a Khadgar legendary. Which means they are willing to use major lore figures more than once. Yet there is still no Kael'thas.
Hope he wouldn't be wretched or something, just to fit an expansion theme. Or a mech. Team 5 likes mechs a bit too much for some reason.
I need more Pit Lords in my Hearthstone. Off the top, Mannoroth and Magtheridon would make good legendaries/hero cards/portraits for Warrior and Warlock, respectively.
