The Dalaran Heist alternate heroes should be collectible. Change my mind!

Hi guys!
I wish Blizzard would make the Dalaran Heist hero skins available somehow, for example: If you beat all chapters on heroic with that class, you get the skin or something like that. They already made these amazing alternate heroes, we already payed for the adventure, they should let us get them forever. It is good for the hype too. Just imagine, a new player sees some of these skins and is thinking like 'No way! That is so cool!' It would also keep old players entertained for awhile and it would be special to own these skins. The only reason they can't do it, is that some voice lines are missing (or we don't know about them), for example the lines which only occur when you and your opponent have the same skin and you greet each other.
Unfortunately, I don't think they will do it. What do you guys think?
(I have around 1500 wins with Warlock and I like all the other Warlock 'heroes', but none of them are as good as Gul'dan, except Tekahn! He is just as arrogant and cool as him. His voice lines are just amazing. So tbh, I don't really care about anything else, I just want to greet my opponents with 'You have been noticed.'!)

It will never happen, but it would be cool. Maybe as a reward for completing a character through the five Chapters on Heroic difficulty. Master the class, get the skin.
I don't wanna change your mind because it's thinking the right things. I would trade all the packs, golden or otherwise, from the heist if I could just get Ol' Barkeye or Squeemlish for my heroes.
Imagine starting a match to see George the fallen
I would love this, Rakanishu has some of my favorite voice lines in the game.
Out of interest would you simply prefer it if there were just heaps of different hero portraits to choose from or is it these particular characters / art works that you like?
I've been here a while; just hanging out in the background.
Druid -- Better than the alternate already there. Now if they could find a form other than something boring and brainless that only craps trees ...
Hunter -- I hate hunters. But the hyena has personality. Probably the best skin this class has.
Mage -- Yes, and please have a mage melee weapon available, because "RAKANISHU!!!" is a cool war cry.
Paladin -- Arthas still is the gold standard, but George is a good foil. Not as hypocritical as Uther, not as arrogant as Blood Elf Lady, and sure as hell not as annoying as ... hello?
Priest -- My fave class. But this hero sucks. Caw. Also, Anduin remains That Priest, good times and bad.
Rogue -- HELL YES, and I don't even play the class. But just add more text bubbles because I can't tell what the English voice is saying (So it's "eat grapeshot, mongrel?" on melee attack. Hm.).
Shaman -- King Rastakhan's Oops is hard to top (best sass since sorry left us), but the Snake is a strong second in the crowded Shaman field.
Warlock -- Looks cool, sounds dorky. Got nothing compared to the three others in this position, each of which can make an argument as the best warlock skin.
Warrior -- "You are in my way." (Mr. Chu easily pushes Garrosh out of the picture; Magni, walking away: "Nope.").
I don't like them at all as Hero Characters, they are exceedingly silly and cartoonish to be called "Heroes". And even the few of them that aren't (Warrior, Priest, Warlock), are yet not really appealing to me.
But who am i to trample over your dreams?
So while dreaming, let me express my wish to see one of the Enemies, Haro Setting-Sun (Tauren Shadow Priest, as in my profile pic) as the next Priest Hero. That would be so cool...
It would be amazing and a great motivation for grinding out that heroic mode.
I guess blizzards main issue with this would be an inflation of hero portraits. People pay good money for stuff like King Rasthakan or Mecha-Jaraxxus. The hype wouldn’t be the same if everyone could get 9 alternate heroes basicly for free.
It may be possible if you have to win with every hero power and every deck off that class against every heroic Boss. This would make it a truely epic and unique achievement and that’s actually something, hs is missing imo.
Winner winner chicken dinner
Maybe not all 9 portraits, but one of your choice. To keep it exclusive.
I guess blizzard is aiming on non-free heroes. All the 5 or 6 last alternate heroes were buyable.
I would love this to happen, especially squeemlish and Captain Eudora.
That would devalue new heroes. It wouldn't be a smart move by Blizzard, as a company. They love selling those 60 pack bundles every expansion.
I doubt it, people who want to collect the Hero skins would still buy them. Otherwise, why would the Masters bundle have sold? If the bundles featured lore specific heroes, they would still get snapped up. If these were locked behind a full Heroic completion of the run, it would drive sales for adventure, but it wouldn't stop people if they introduced, for example, Kael'thas as a new Mage hero in the next bundle.
I was writing a lengthy response, but in the end, the bottom line is: People care more for new skins if they have 1-2 other available skins for a certain class than if they have 10 other available skins. The skins get devalued at that point. Not sure I can explain it simpler than that.
I would take any of those alternate hero skin any time, any day. Maybe it is only the result of 5 years using the same ol'portrait, with few minor variations, or maybe those heroes are that neat. At this point, I'm not too sure. The only thing I know for sure is that I really liked Mage, Shaman, Rogue, Priest and Warlock alternate artworks and voicelines. The druid one makes me (almost) as uncomfortable as tortollans slow-pasty voices...
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
I do follow what you're saying, but I disagree. While HS has diverged from WoW significantly, a decent portion of the player base seems to be in touch with WoW lore, and the relevant characters. Releasing a non-lore skin for each class, behind a minor paywall (cost of adventure) would silence some complaints about the cost of the adventure, but would not impact significantly on demand for favoured characters that have a strong grounding in Warcraft lore e.g Kael'thas, Vaashj, etc. It might mean they have to raise their game when it comes to designing the bundle skins (no more Mecha-Jaraxxus), but it wouldn't drive down sales overall imo.
The Thunder King was met with excitement, despite being the 4th Shaman hero, and I wouldn't expect it to be met with any less if it was the 5th. Likewise, Kael'thas would be met with excitement, even though Mage already has Jaina, Khadgar and Medivh. I don't imagine adding Rakanishu to that pool would reduce that any less.
I honestly don't understand why they didn't just make it a reward. I mean everything's there you just need to implement it. They made all this effort to create a bunch of characters fully voiced only to never use them again.
just make it a reward for completing Heroic on every chapter with said class
They could even just put them in the shop for like...5 bucks and they'd probably sell.
Blizz sure loves putting effort into something and then not using it to its full potential
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
I agree that they should've included one skin in the adventure to drive sales, as you said, but 9 of them is certainly overkill. And shaman had 2 skins before the Thunder King - and only morgl is free. And people who like morgl, or Rastakhan for those who bought him, won't be buying the Thunder King. You can only have one hero equipped after all. If the Thunder King was Shaman's first skin, he would absolutely sell more. I don't see how anyone can disagree with this, or, to take it a step further, that giving away a skin for every hero would hurt future sales.
I just love these new characters. We had a few different characters in the other solo adventures, but these are much better. Blizzard put more effort in them than in the previous cases like in the Rumble Run and they made unique and interesting chatacters that's why I want to obtain them, or atleast one of them.
I don't want them to release a bunch of skins, but they do it anyway! They just released the Thunder King and yes he is cool, but they only changed the aninations a little bit, he has no special interactions with any hero/minion/spell. The quality of the Dalaran Heist alternate heroes is nearly at the level of the Thunder King (some of them have more depth, but that is subjective). So my point is that they release okayish hero portraits, as someone else said before, because of that the value of the skins will decrease eventually.
If we could choose just one of the 9 portraits after we bought all the chapters that would not hurt them too much imo and this way you could show your dedication to your favourite class etc etc. My point is that they are wasting these characters. Yes maybe they will return in the next solo content, but probably not.
When you add in dozens more of the same thing the value of them goes away and they are meaningless. If you collected each and every one then the fun of them goes away as well as the value they are to Blizzard - which is one way they generate revenue - heroes.
If this was a non-profit free game then sure but it isn't. It is a game for profit and a pay to play game.. and the ones who pay subsidize the free users so that there are enough people playing.
Impossible to change your mind as you think you should get everything for free and don't understand basic concepts of revenue generation for long term growth and sustainability.
I like the fact that most portraits represent some of the most famous and heroic characters in Warcraft lore. I realise there are exceptions, like Sir Annoy-o and Murgl, and I'm fine with joke portraits if done in moderation. Adding nine in one go seems waaay overkill, especially since many of these aren't even particularly funny or memorable.
I'm glad they're in the single player content to add spice to the game but I'm also glad they're not a part of normal HS.
If blizzard intents to improve, andbif they listen to the community, and if they do add an achivements-system, these heroskins would probably be one of the first rewards implemented. Well, if...Till then, Blizzard will keep them as a reserve.
