Floating Watcher is Moving to Tavern Tier 4 in a Server Patch this Thursday

A server-side Hearthstone update is going out this Thursday, February 13 that focuses on Battlegrounds balance and [Hearthstone Card (Galakrond the Nightmare) Not Found].

We have a small 16.2.4 server-side patch going live tomorrow with the following changes:  

  • Floating Watcher is moving from Tavern Tier 3 → Tavern Tier 4
  • Fixed an issue that caused Galakrond the Nightmare's cost-reduction priority to negate the cost-increase effects of cards such as Boompistol Bully and Loatheb.  

Once these changes have gone live, I'll be sure to update this thread!

    Edit-> Yes I am wrong and just dumb :D Floating Watchers are in Tier 4. Still they pound me to death.

  • A few days later and I'm still seeing massive Wrath weavers and Floating Watchers.

    The nerfs didn't work. Beasts are screwed, Murlocs need poison or Brann, Mechs pray their Cobalt refreshes hold up.

  • I really like this change for one big reason. All of the good demons are on tier 1, 3, and 5. There is one demon on tier 2, and there is one demon on tier 4, and none on tier 6. I hope in the future we can see a more equal spread of demons across the tiers.

    • Actually, there are 2 demons on tier 2. 2/4 demon that gives +2/+2 and 3/3 demon with taunt.

  • I am dubious as to this being enough of a nerf.

    • It's interesting, but I think it might be enough. Just because there's NO good demons on 4, so usually it was better to stay at 3 few turns, to skip through Tavern 4 as fast as possible.

      And now... you have to get to 4, Floating Watcher is key component and "build-enabler" for Demons (yes, you can also play Soul Juggler build too). At least it isn't "over-nerf", so we shall see what happens.

  • This is a pretty huge change! It slows down how fast demons can ramp up by a lot, perhaps even giving other tribes (besides murlocs) a fighting chance.

  • Not that it matters but... it's February already :)

    • Time works differently when you're deep in the coding world like Flux. (Fixed.)

      • I understand, I am amazed how much has this site evolved over the past few months, and it's still very smooth.

        Flux is posting news and coding, seriously, this guy is under-appreciated I feel :P

         

        I disabled my ad-blocker some time ago, because the ads are not annoying and help supporting OOC :)

      They specifically told us they were going to address Demons. Demons needed an immediate change. There are bigger/more changes coming. Be patient and wait and see what other changes they have in store.
