The Hearthstone devs have been actively answering community's questions after yesterday's announcements, and among those was the confirmation that everybody's favourite gnome, Whizbang the Wonderful, will be rotating alongside the rest of the Boomsday set when Ashes of Outland releases.
Give Whizbang a proper farewell and take him for a spin on the ladder! Here are the decks you could get.

He'll be near useless in Wild where the only thing you can play are Standard decks of variable quality.
Confirmed that Whizbang the Wonderful will be converted to dust in my collection this April.
This ain't exactly equivalent. Yeah, new and returning players get a new deck. One new deck. For only new and returning players. Whizbang has kept some folks in the game for a year or two, now. He offers far more than just one deck, and he's got much greater lasting power.
I'd find it more equivalent if they could offer current Whizbang players one of those new decks, but of course, there's no way to reliably do so. Good for business, bad for us.

At least they'll give new Players free Cards to compensate somewhat for his Rotation.

Since they're implementing the "everyone gets a free competitive deck" feature, moving him to Classic doesn't really have a point anymore.
The point of moving him to classic is so people don't have to keep playing the same deck and can learn different archetypes without building each recipe

Plus "competitive" is very subjective--historically the Tier 1 decks as defined by HsReplay typically show 4-8 legendaries, I'm extremely skeptical that Blizzard is going to just give away that much dust. It's more likely that you pick the class and then Blizzard will give you their choice (read: the cheaper option which only includes 1-2 legendaries) of two deck recipes they publish, so the comparison is more like losing access to all 18 Whizbang decks in exchange for owning your choice out of the worst 9.
That's disappointing, I play on EU but I have an Asia account setup with just one legendary, Golden Whizbang the Wonderful!!

As it stands, Im more upset over how underpowered Zayle, Shadow Cloak was, considering that I actually paid real money to get it.
There’s at least some hope for Zayle, since he’s getting updated for the next rotation

A real buff to Zayle will be to allow me to dust the damn thing.
I don't know about a buff, but they said near the time it was released that it will be changed to only use Standard cards. I.e. all the Year of the Raven cards will be replaced. The scale of the change will depend on the deck. For instance the mech-heavy(?) bomb warrior one might need a major overhaul.

As nice as it is to see all these changes people have been wanting for awhile, it is kind of obvious they’re using this as a chance to sneak a few things by for their benefit without us complaining as much (Whizbang not becoming standard and the battlegrounds monetizations mainly).
At least the good looks like it’ll outweigh the bad
