So basically Crystalsong, but much better because it allows your deck to play the board for at least a while.
I like it a lot, although I'M still pissed that they keep printing so much RNG for Mage.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Also similar to Omega Assembly, but you can play it as soon as you draw it (assuming you've built around it). Could be very good.

Only-spells-mage deck can be interesting to build. And this will be a perfect fit.
Also, mages just love low cost spells for some reason :)

THIS. THIS is the support no minions mage needs. with a lot of bad minions rotating, this will be quite a good card. (also some good ones, but the most powerful minions are still in standard.)
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Crystalsong Portal ?
Why this is cheaper ? ok, deck restriction and that but still can't convince me.
Loved the card btw. I also loved Crystalsong Portal before too.
Unpopular Opinion Incarnate
That's an insane value for spending 1 mana. They don't want to change Crystalsong Portal for some reasons, like mage has weak minions and druid has strong minions.
I think there will be a rival battle between spell mage and spell druid since druid got Glowfly Swarm and Fungal Fortunes as a new cards.
This is the only card besides Apexis Blast that has an additional effect in a no-minion deck. I doubt that this is enough support to make a minionless Mage work. But even discovering only one Mage minion might be enough value to run this card.
Support for non-minion mage? Now that most of the cards are out I can actually see this. My initial concern was the loss of Sorcerer's Apprentice as a card, but then they went and print out Incanter's Flow, so all is well now.
You dont really have to play a strictly no minion mage. Just low enough minions to start justifying putting cards like this in the deck. And the effect of this card is huge. Definitely a challenge to deckbuilding.
Your guess are as good as mine, but I'd say that Mage doesn't have as good of a minion arsenal.
It is for sure a great deal for that cost
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
Core card if spell mage becomes a thing.
Good value for 1 mana.
Very nice value for spell mage. It seems there will be some spell mage meta soon.
Really great value!
Good value for spell-only mage, but not enough with just Apexis Blast as its partner to make the deck archetype worth it.
Again, how competitive will pure spell mage be? I highly doubt this will be played much.
You better hope you have great luck like Chakki did in the stream...and yet they went to Fatigue and the No-Minion Mage lost anyway, so...yeah. Still think the card is very powerful in the deck, but you're (once again) relying on RNG to bail you out.
It will see some play through random card generation.
1 mana discovers don't see play normally but it's a pick to be generated for the next 2 years which is ok, the no minions mage will be an archtype we will revisit every expansion so this is an enabler which is nice.
I think this card is terrible right now. Spell mage isn't a thing for me, and out of that type this card is unplayable
Like an Omega Assembly for mage. If this specified Elementals to synergise with Frost Lich Jaina in the same way OA synergises with Dr. Boom, it could probably go in a spell-heavy deck that usually runs out of minions in the late game. As it stands, this is probably to unreliable to see much play. If no minion mage gets more support, this will go in it if it turns out to be a midrange deck.
This post is discussing the wild format.
The backbone of pure spell mage, mage minions nowadays are quite good, aren't they. Solid card.
It's good value, but why would you want to run a deck with no minions in it, just to keep 3 random ones ?
1 mana draw 3 is incredible, even if the cards are random. Just the sheer amount of card advantage this can give you on turn one makes this card great.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
Will probably see play in some sort of cylone mage, just for the mana cost, but no Minions is not possible with the tools of this set.
Decent support for that kind of deck, probably still gonna be an expansion or two away that we see much for that deck type though
Who needs consistency when you could have fun?
I remember not so long ago, I had an All Spells Hunter Deck. I wonder if this can replace it. Remember, no minions means no Sorcerer's Apprentice.
Knowledge is Power
Not "draw" but "discover". But who cares.
Knowledge is Power
Very strong enabled for the no-minions archetype. Since it's mage minions only, it also has a high chance of giving Antonidas as an option.
Good filler card.Messenger Raven sees play and this could be better in certain decks.
I doubt Spell Mage will become a thing for now. Even when considering how powerful a 1 mana draw 3 is.
However, the moment the deck gets a bit more support (it doesn't have to be that much, maybe just one more spell that summons things for the early game), this card will be bonkers.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
The mage minions are usually high powered and the flexibility just is amazing. Though, I do not know if no minion mage decks will work.
