Curves perfectly into Houndmaster. Swarmy Decks might struggle against that.
The Fact that it can also go Face is a real Downside though.

It kinda reminds me of Cave Hydra. It'S a relatively sturdy 3-drop that needs to stay alive if you want to get value out of it, but if it does it puts in work.
This would be a lot stronger if we still had ways to trigger deathrattles instantly, but even without that it's just strong enough in a Midrange deck. The question is whether there is an actual win conditionf or Beast Hunter to be a thing
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
I'm getting more and more intrigued as to what could beast-hunter looks like after next rotation
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
Looks very strong, Even if you don't buff it it's a deathrattle: one proc of Flamewaker
At this point Handbuff Hunter must be the new archetype they're promoting right.
This card will be good or bad all depending on how good hunter will be at buffing beasts, but it definitely has potential. And with cards like fresh scent and the new [Hearthstone Card (Scavengers Ingenuity) Not Found], I think this should be consistent enough to at least be worth trying.
Also, this will totally be a battlegrounds card.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
It's neat to see that they appear to be pushing Hunter in a new direction, following the inclusion of the more aggro Demon Hunter.
I wonder if we'll get ANY cards which push early aggression? It would be sad to see that side of the class identity go.
Better call Thrall!
I don't play WoW for quite some time now or maybe I have missed it, but aren't Porcupines something from Path of Exile-World and not WoW beasts? I don't remember them and the deathrattle effect of this card sounds so familiar to the PoE porcupines.

EU Legend: S52 (ZooHeal Lock); S76 (Highlander Hunter);
Isn't this a check on the cute box in the expansion bingo?
Solid value on turn 3, potentially a lot more value with buffs either in hand or while on board.
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
I'm not convinced by the new handbuff archetype for Hunter. Sure, this is a solid 3-drop, but it's probably not broken enough for constructed, e.g., compared to Zixor, Apex Predator.
Keep in mind that the damage can also go face.
Deathrattle Hunter might like this card. But i don't know what other deck this might even fit in.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
The flavor is poking fun at pokemon, but I feel like the poke-reference would have been (almost) more fitting with Zixor, Apex Predator : '' Pokey-man. Gotta spike 'em all!''

Unsure how I feel about this one. It's basically a reverse Dispatch Kodo
Speaking of... Dispatch Kodo is really going to like all these Beast buff cards. Might have to play around with this in Wild.
Pretty weak unless buffed..on the plus side it can possible hit face for the kill. Time to see someone ram this onto a taunt to get that 1 dmag on face for the win.
This card alone works with 6 out of the 10 class cards hunter got.
Blizz really wants to push hand buff deathrattle hunter, but wouldn't the current dragon hunter be faster?
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
If I remember correctly, Dispatch Kodo was not played all that much. This one feels a bit stronger because it can go face. Still, handbuffs for hunter never really took off, so I don't really see a future for this card for now.
Great synergy with Handbuff cards, of course, but will that be enough? It seems like the most vocal comments are about combos with Beastmaster Leoroxx+King Krush or Zixor, Apex Predator; combos with very few Beasts beyond the specific ones you need. That means there just might not be enough room for this guy, good or not.
Great 3-drop that scales exponentially with beast buffs such as Scavenger's Ingenuity or Fresh Scent. If a midrange beast hunter deck will excist without Master's Call, this guy will be in it.
Hello, beautiful.
Gonna enjoy this and Mok'nathal Lion combos
Rage quitting: the best way to ensure your opponent knows they beat a giant baby.
Will work well with the huner's quest that buffs your minions, as the deathrattle could be really devastating.
I don't like this card too much. For me it's too slow, and we can't entrust on random buff hand of few card. Sure we can buff it on turn 4, but he must survive (and 2 damage from deathrattle are too low)
Dispatch Kodo + Poisonous Zombeasts are good. Augmented Porcupine + Poisonous Zombeasts will be even better. This card looks surprisingly efficient against wide aggro decks.
This post is discussing the wild format.
They had a few cards before that pushed for handbuffs in Hunter, but it was mostly a bad Gadgetzan archetype that didn't really get enough good cards and no support after. This time it looks like they are going all in on the archetype
Quick! Someone give me something clever to write here.
This can set up well for the 5/2 lion who will copy its deathrattle.
it's a slower dispatch kodo, and instead of all that extra damage at a directed target it's spread about like arcane missiles.
hand buffing for hunter also looks too slow to be reliable, it's neat but probably won't see constructed play
This is not slower Dispatch Kodo. I think this one will see constructed play. This is cheaper than Dispatch Kodo and at that time, Handbuff Hunter cards not as good as right now.
Also, you can buff it at board aswell and greatly curving with Houndmaster. You don't just need handbuffs like Dispatch Kodo. This is better than it and i believe that this one will see some constructed play unlike Dispatch Kodo.
Unpopular Opinion Incarnate
Dispatch Kodo saw constructed play since it's ability allowed for either single target removal or face damage.
I'll concede it uses buffs on the field better than Kodo I still feel that it's effect isn't as strong
i think will be too situational. but can have some cool swing turns. also, pretty useless late game?
Looks scary alongside all the other buffs hunter has for beasts. If only this was printed back in Gadgetzan
Who needs consistency when you could have fun?
It's average without any buffs, so it might not see much play sadly.
Dispatch Kodo could also go face. But Handbuffing in Hunter was always clunky, so it didn't see much play because of that. Handbuffing still seems a bit clunky to me. I believe Augmented Porcupine's biggest selling point is the fact it curves into Mok'Nathal Lion.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
Ehhh. This is not that great. If it dies not buffed, that is 2 damage SPLIT among all enemies. Even buffed, I do not see this being good
Synergizes and curves perfectly with Scavenger's Ingenuity, Mok'Nathal Lion, and Houndmaster.
For glory, honor, and gold!
