It seems a little overpriced. By turn 5 you won'T really get much use out of a Volcanic Potion. I also have yet to see an actual win condition for Spell Shaman and this basically rules out a minion based approach.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
A solid card with not that difficult to activate bc-condition. I don't like the fact that it will damage/kill your minions as well, but I guess you can't have all.
We will see if this finds a place in some deck/archetype.

Can be compared with Despicable Dreadlord.
I was really hoping for a good elemental card for shaman, this one seems to mediocre for both control and midrange decks. My most unfavorite part of shaman class is adding more AoE damage to all minions instead of enemy minions. But 4/6 stat is what it makes it up, and might be better than Dreadlord.
EDIT: Turns out this card also deals damage to itself. I changed my mind, its not a great card.
Is there a good 4 Mana Shaman Spell that you want this to follow up with?

Its a solid card that has a reasonably easy condition.
But solid cards just dont cut it in standard. Card's gotta be broken, or contributes to broken cards. If I have one card less to a deck, I'd be thinking about this card, to be honest. But its just not a mandatory inclusion.
Good news for those who dislikes the card, it has been changed to “to all other minions” instead of its hurting itself too.
Source: Hearthstone subreddit has shown a correct card image by new link, and this card was not a final version, including video footage.
I don't know if 2 damage is worth it for 5 mana. But it is also a minion and a Battlecry, I think it can work in some deck. I think this card will be on a similar power level and playrate as cards like Thunderhead or Cumulo Maximus.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
It's very hard to use this type of card. "played x last turn" is not an easy condition and requires some planning and unaware opponents. Maybe if Shaman gets some more flexible spells this expansion
I see this as one of the many elemental needed to ramp up with decent tempo, as it can also act as a small board clear as well as repopulating your board after a wipe - not 100% convinced - but not a 100% garbage either
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
More support for Control Shaman. It's like a Consecration on a stick for 5 mana, and the damage to the own minions is irrelevant for control decks.
I also love The Lonely Island
Interesting card. Effect doesn't seem that powerfull, unless it's battlecry is doubled by Corrupt the Waters.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
I like the lean toward control shaman, especially now that Shudderwock is finally leaving standard.
I kind of hope it works out, like tier 2 at best alongside control priest or a decent control warrior. All three would be awful, but two makes for a challengeing meta!
Rage quitting: the best way to ensure your opponent knows they beat a giant baby.
Control shaman just lost hagatha, so dunno about how good control shaman might be..
nice aoe board clear that can be easily activated. good against aggro decks. will see play in control sham decks.
Strong card with an easy activation for the battlecry. Super solid for control shaman
If you summoned minions last turn: hurt them. If you cleared the board last turn: deal 2 damage to mostly nothing. Only good with greedy value cards I think.
Fine in some kind of control shaman, but that deck just lost all of its best card. Don't see this dude happening any time soon.
Maybe if it dealt damage to only enemy minions... but as is, I honestly don't see this getting played.
Easy to activate, but 2 damage on T5 may not be good enough i think
Not a fan. To play this on turn 5 you must have played a spell on turn 4, and how many really good 4-mana spells does the Shaman have? The answer is zero, which means you floated mana in order to pop the board with two damage next turn. Your strategy is not looking so good.
Seems strong in a control deck, but you'll have to be careful about the spells you play, since overload will throw off when this guy's effect will go off
Cast a spell last turn is a light requirement, but 2 damage AoE is unlikely to be impactful by turn 5. Shaman's board wipe suite already has volcano and hagatha's scheme on 5, so this seems superfluous. Potential with battlecry doubling to be a flamestrike/chaos nova, but there are almost certainly better things you could be doing with your doubled battlecries.
This post is discussing the wild format.
Guys, remember Primordial Drake? He saw lots of play, but he had Taunt, more health, and no condition to activate. I'm not too impressed.
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
I would say if your not using this with some kind of quest deck you are doing it wrong. Maybe one that generates lots of spells
This is kind of weird card in my opinion. I mean, it is an elemental that uses elemental synergy keys for spells. Wouldn't it be better if it says elemental instead of spell ?
I would say it is inconsistent for its mechanic.
Unpopular Opinion Incarnate
Not too great, but decent enough I think. It’ll probably see some play at some point, since the condition isn’t that hard to pull off
Who needs consistency when you could have fun?
Good tool to counter aggro in early to mid game, but not much use for it afterwards.
Great elemental and will prove worthy In standar
