We now have information on today's Demon Hunter nerfs. They are working on getting the update out. Read on for all the details.
Quote From Kerfluffle Hey everyone,
Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be keeping an eye on the power level of Demon Hunter. Our goal is to make changes when necessary in order to get Demon Hunter to where we believe it should be. Today, we’ll be applying the following balance updates to a few Demon Hunter cards in a server-side patch (meaning you won’t have to download anything):
- Skull of Gul’dan – Mana cost increased from 5 to 6.
- Imprisoned Antaen – Mana cost increased from 5 to 6.
- Eye Beam – Outcast Mana cost increased from 0 to 1.
- Aldrachi Warblades – Durability decreased from 3 to 2.
We wanted to get these changes out the door today, and in doing so you will only see the new stats for these cards—displayed in both red and green—in matches, not in your Collection. The red and green numbers will return to white and the cards will be updated in your Collection with a data-only patch that we’re expecting to deploy before the end of the day tomorrow.
For Arena, we’re making changes today that will see Demon Hunter class card offering rates decreased until we’re able to properly address the class with more accurate micro-adjustments in a future patch. The following cards have had their offering rates reduced in Arena:
- Chaos Nova
- Coilfang Warlord
- Command the Illidari
- Flamereaper
- Furious Felfin
- Glaivebound Adept
- Illidari Felblade
- Immolation Aura
- Metamorphosis
- Netherwalker
- Nethrandamus
- Priestess of Fury
- Skull of Gul’dan
- Twin Slice
- Umberwing

Yup, to actuallny nerf it, they should decrease card draw and mana reduction to 2 and still it would be one of the best draws in game.
Those Nerfs seem alright, except for the one for Imprisoned Antaen. I hate this good damn Card. Every Time when your Opponent plays it you have to drop your Gameplan for the Moment, flood the Board and pray to RNGsus that it somehow doesn't screw you over entirely. And after that you also have to deal with 10 fucking Attack staring down your decimated Board. Seriously, Reno the Relicologist is a Joke compared to it!
Sorry, but fuck this Card!
If you happen to play Warlock, Zzeraku the Warped is a great counter.
Well, Anthaem processes on turn 7, Zzeraku costs 8 man
Not anymore; read the nerfs list at the top of the page.
Also there are some ways to cheat out dragons, such as Frizz Kindleroost, The Dark Portal and Escaped Manasaber, in the deck I was playing yesterday. But while the Manasaber is good in other decks as well, Frizz and the Portal are rather specific.
Thank you, will consider crafting, the Antean sucks unless you are playing it 😁
Odd DH will miss Skull for sure!
skull is still good at 6 mana
But it's not, uh
Odd
The 1 mana 2/2 that grows is more oppressive than all of these in my opinion(granted it was really close with eye beam) and that wasnt touched at all. It's basically a "gain 1 attack at the beginning of your turn" effect since you can attack so easily with the hero. Played against only demon hunter and rogue yesterday and the demon hunters always had both of these on board before turn 3. I have no idea why this wasnt touched.
We've been dealing with flame imp for the last 6 years. I personally dont think Battlefiend is any trouble at all. If you miss out on your Umberwing, you'd have to spend 1 mana on turn 2 to buff the guy.
Thanks to 0 mana Eye Beam however, you'd not be permitted to develop any minions until turn 4. That's why Battlefiend is a problem. But eye beam got nerfed so we'll see what develops from that.
Comparing it to flame imp... a high statted one drop with a downside like flame imp vs a high statted one drop with an upside that costs 1 mana to enable and quickly out scales flame imp. But yeah "theyll have to hero power every turn" poor baby has to spend 1 mana every turn when their deck has nothing over 6 cost in it....what a trial...
I agree. Eye Beam was more problematic because it allows you to secure the board and allowing the Battlefiend to stay.
theres only one bad thing about this. rogue will be back in full force and their 70 seconds turns filled with 5 cards each with infinte lackey value
I upvoted this because I’m personally jazzed to play rogue again.
The nerf to Skull of Gul'dan is probably the most painful, but I suspect dhunters will just move on to relying on Spectral Sight if skull is too expensive.
Eye Beam nerf sorely needed. I'd still argue that along with a 1 mana hero power this is still the best early tempo tool in the game currently
Imprisoned Antaen nerf might be a little weak. But making so that it doesnt go along with Priestess of Fury on curve is perhaps the intention.
If galakrond shaman can be taken as a guide, then we can expect more nerfs later to different cards.
Remember, if you disenchant the nerfed cards, you won't be able to open them again in packs.
... at least until you've opened max copies of that rarity in that set...
Yeah but then the changes to open them are small
Yes - but you didn't think Blizzard were just going to let us open pack after pack of nerfed cards disenchantable for full value right?
This was needed after they changed things so duplicate protection applied to all rarities. A better system for us by far :)
