Quote From Blizzard It’s time for the Outland Inn-vitational! Taking place on April 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. PT, the Outland Invitational will split 20 well-known Hearthstone personalities evenly into two groups—the Feisty Fiends and the Salty Satyrs!
The Outland Inn-vitational will use a new format we’re calling Demon Hunter Duel-fest, where both teams play against each other through 4 rounds of best-of-three matches. Each player will represent one of the ten classes and play as that same class in every match. However, on rounds 2 and 4, one full team will play as the Demon Hunter!
Here is how Demon Hunter Duel-fest scoring works:
- The winner of each best-of-three match will earn points for their team.
- Winning a match earns a team 2 points.
- At the end of four rounds, the team with the highest point total wins.
With $100,000 in prizing on the line, each member of the winning team will take home a cool US $6,500 while everyone else will still walk away with US $3,500. Additionally, the three players with the highest game score will get a US $1,000 kicker!
All participants will stream their own perspective of the competition on their own channels from the comfort of their home, with the official Hearthstone Twitch and YouTube channels providing match commentary and big-picture updates.

Overall, the tournament was pretty sad, a problem was the incentive money to the player with the highest winrate. At least this made clear that there is a problem with DH. Before this event I wasn't sure, but the amount of matches that were just the same or not fun at all were a lot.
I hope they take this event and the perception of DH matches as feedback for future changes.
The money incentive is only there to add to the stakes. Obviously the players are expected to bring along the best decks, or otherwise this entire innvitation would have been nothing more than memes.
I do agree in part with you, especially the part where both teams are forced into X vs Dhunters, since nearly everyone brought more or less the same tempo dhunter list. At least there wasn't a massacre, though dhunters still won 6 out of 10 at the last round, though all the opposing classes obviously knew and brought anti-dhunter lists.
Only one day, huh?
Feels good to get some drops back on twitch, but strange at the same time ...
But 2 free packs me - for virtually nothing back in return - won't complain ^^
I watched Firebat's Plot Twist Warlock and it was actually pretty interesting :)
This is what happens when no one has the ability to lead effectively and no personality...
god, the commentary is painful. It's like they're struggling to find things to say so they just overexplain what cards do just to fill time.
there's some discussion as to whether a stream muted via the web player counts as watching it. I don't know the answer but many browsers including Firefox and Chrome allow a specific tab to be muted.
I'd recommend that method unless you are really watching it and can put up with the commentary.
it does count, I did this and just got my second pack.
I've always muted the stream itself and left it open to get twitch drops. With that said though, I leave it in its own window with its own tab and then lay that behind other chrome windows. That way it retains focus!
Well done on doing an article to remind everyone - the window to get your packs is smaller than we've seen before :)
Get passively lurking watching!
Passive lurking gave me a pack so far ^^
I was joking there but it was probably misleading :) Passively lurking is what I always do too :)
IDK why but to me, Sinedd92's hat looks like it was edited into his picture.
and Solary looks like he was generated by CGI
Great now I cant unsee that either
I'll do you one better: Firebat looks like he's straight from the cover of the debut album of an 80s rockband whose only successful hit was a sappy love ballad.
yes
that specific
"Anyway, here's Fiery Bat."
