(Demon) Hunters everywhere (And some Rogues)
Hello people,
I need your help. Today i played ladder a bit (I am silver 3 right now) and i am kind of tilted after a few games. First: This is no salt thread, I really need some help. I play HS for quite a while now and started to "main" Shaman, because its the most flexible class (in my oppinion).
So after a few "Dragon quest Highlander" games today I faced only 3 decks: Face Hunter, Demon Hunter (Aggroversion) and Galakrond Rogue.
I have no problems with these Rogues, most of the time I just out-value them with my HP. But... I have a hard time versus those (Demon) Hunters. They have soooo much value with just 2 or 3 mana, that they outtempo me since the first or second round. And everytime it seems like I have a Comeback, I am at 15 HP (or less) and they can give me everything face without worrying.
Now my question: What is the best deck versus those classes? (Without joining them....)
I just think of changing to Totem Shaman again, but they will clear them very quickly.

The key against those decks is early-game tempo and anti-aggro tools. Try adding cards like Troll Batrider, Bone Wraith and Khar'tut Defender to your deck.
Spell Mage seems to be good against some variants of Demon Hunter because of Mage's access to Freeze cards which helps stall the game until you can take them down with burn spells. However, Spell Mage isn't good against a lot of decks, including Face Hunter which is too fast for Mage, a class with no healing.
Maybe you can try a Priest deck. You'd have healing, removal, and constant barrage of taunts.
Well it's over
so do you want only to play shaman? cause i have a couple of recommendations but if u want to play shaman only, im not help. totem shaman seems to out tempo those decks i believe
No I don't want to play shaman only anymore. Maybe I try some other classes like Priest. Played priest back when Dragon priest was a thing in TGT. I think Res Priest is the way to go right?

since we are here to help only im not gonna go into of how i despise priest in general and Rez Priest is on the top of my list since barnes was a card.
Having said that i would say its good versus those aggro decks but its an absolute loss against rogues. the second bad part is that each match takes forever. ranking up with a rez priest takes days.
its your personal choice but i would recommend a highlander mage with a lower curve than the slower version.
EDIT: I can give u my personal list if you want but only if u have the cards. Amazing Reno steals matches on his own so if u dont have him, forget it. altho i did rank up to gold without him. and this was pre nerfs
Egg warrior/nohandsgamer's warrior is probably the best choice for this, it has a good chance against the three decks listed, but be aware that this 'combo' deck is not easy to play. Its not a deck for the weak of heart.
You may have an easier time just playing dragon hunter, which can beat face hunter and rogues, but is about 49-51 with dhunters. Or if you're willing to just forget about face hunter entirely, spell druid destroys dhunters and rogues.
Res priest isn't good against galakrond rogues, and do not have a guarantee against face hunters and dhunters. Totem shaman gets wreaked hard by dhunters and rogue. Just cant keep up with tempo. Warglaives of Azzinoth just destroys totem shaman its not even funny.
But if you ask me, if you just want to rank up, just play dhunters. There's a good reason why they're dominating across all ranks. There's just no way to out-tempo dhunters without majorly teching against them, which will expose you to other matchups.
I doubt you can consistently out-Tempo DH right now, unless you go Egg-Tempo (Warrior, but Priest also looks interesting).
Maybe you should consider some Control decks, and/or Highlander packages, including heals, sticky minions, and efficient removals.
Or you try and go hard with Aggro, like very hard, Face-Aggro.
Either way, I think playing against DH equals to hardmode...
I climbed to legend with control - galakrond-priest(non highlander, no res-bullshit) this month. You have enough heals to survive against dh and facehuntards and enough value to beat any late game deck thanks to galakrond.
I played with some stealy cards (2 thoughtsteal, madame lazoul) for extra value and extra fun, although you could alsp tech in even more anti aggro stuff if you feel like you don't really need the value.
I saw the list on nohandsgamers YouTube channel, although I believe he picked it from another site and did not create it himself.
Thank you for all these answers! I will tryout some deck suggestions from you. Dragon Hunter and Highlander Mage sounds interesting. I own both Reno cards so its not a problem.
Maybe I will tryout some Priest decks too.
Your help was nice, I like this community on Outof.cards :D
