I'm not too big on the Infiltrator's card art but I gotta say, I really dig her forsaken token art, looks pretty dope, even better then her KoTFT counterpart. This makes me really hope the next rogue hero portrait would Forsaken Lilian as that would be sick.
Function-wise, after seeing someone mentioned (and reminded me) about Necrium Blade in the card discussion thread, I do look forward to having fun with that if I ever get my hands on the card.
[Hearthstone Card (Infiltrator Liliana) Not Found] is not exciting - she's a Jungle Panther with a "1 mana deal 4" tacked on as a deathrattle. Mind you, she could be quite good - that's a nice little bundle of stats and effects, and there are plenty of stealth synergies from Ashes of Outland - but she's just not exciting.
I do really like the lore focus in this set, with the sort of "WoW prequel" that we're seeing with characters like Liliana and Kel'Thuzad. Hoping we'll get more of that as the reveals continue.
Might be the fact that I don't play a lot of Rogue, but this feels underwhelming.
I mean it is random enemy so if opponent all clear the board along with her, and your opponents gets face damaged, could be some lethal potential. it probably is crazy but if you put her on a aggro or Midrange deck I think she could do somewhat well. Maybe worth a try at least.
Interesting design, but yeah doesn't seem worth of a Legendary like Lillian. She deserved better. I get where they are going with the flavor.
I'm fine with Rogue getting a "meh" Legendary anyway! haha!
It’s stealth so the most reliable way to remove it when on board is with AOE, which will cause it to attack, on your opponents turn, something. Good disruption. Can go face. Can do shenanigans. A fun and interesting card.
Don't get why this Is legendary
Because Lilian Voss is a fairly major lore character, who infiltrates the Scarlet Monastery (hence her clothes in the art), kills High Inquisitor Whitemane, and afterwards infiltrates Scholomace, it is clear they were going with a top-down, story-telling design for her card. Granted the story seems a little out of order since she should have been a forsaken before infiltrating the Scarlet Monastery, but I suppose it was a decent effort at covering both her transition to a forsaken, and her infiltration of both places.
She has one of the better stories in WoW (at least in my opinion) and they really didn't do it justice last time around when they gave her a burgle ability that didn't have any link to her character (Lilian Voss), so I am happy to see a story driven card design. It might not be flashy mechanically, but it does still have the unique ability to attack on your opponent's turn, and reminds me a little of Dart Trap.
With all that in mind, this card was always going to be a legendary simply because the card is Lilian Voss, and not some unnamed character.
I'm sorry, I thought it would be clear enough that I was referring to the (IMHO) underwhelming effect, rather than the character depicted.
Thanks for this unnecessary explanation, tho.
EDIT:
Also, I don't think that you are going to see her attack in the opponent's turn very often, since it has Stealth; I think that her gameplay will be similar to Restless Mummy, just less reliable since doesn't have Rush and the second attack is random.
My point was that since the effect was tied to the character, it would not have appeared on a rare or epic simply because it was tailor made for a legendary character. I expect the card design process was:
I.e. the rarity came before the effect. Or said the another way: by the time the effect was chosen, no other rarity was an option.
I'll stop going around in circles now...
I agree stealth and rush can function similarly, but stealth is in practice closer to charge than it is to rush, and it is often right to attack the opponent's face. When you are playing the aggressor like that, your opponent will have to kill the unstealthed 4/2 sooner or later, so I think it will attack fairly often on your opponent's turn.
It's certainly not a very interesting card. The effect is fine enough and the stealth support is nice but without more deathrattle synergies this card will probably just become a filler option for Stealth Rogue. At least, she isn't a RNG Yeti anymore.
Guess we're back to barely above average statsticks that somehow qualify as legendaries for Rogue. Myra, Gral and Sherazin welcome you to join them in obscurity.
Its underwhelming at first glance, but its practically a deal 8 damage for 4. Also has stealth, which must count for something.
Also, rogues never lack shenanigans for deathrattles. Unfortunately, with the information current in hand, its more likely abusable in wild than standard
The card, by itself, it's not bad; you play a 4/2 stealth that would likely survive, the next turn it trades with something and the deathrattle will trade with something else or do 4 damage to the face while putting a 4/2 on the board.
That said i don't think is good enough for standard, maybe if she gets some synergies
Can't wait for Roffle or Dane to come up with some OTK with this in wild.
Really hard otk, coz only 6th places on the board, even with retreat not so easy. It has meme potential, but not otk.
Underwhelming effect for a legendary. Something similar to Imprisoned Felmaw but worse. Anyway, bad legendary for rogue is definietly good thing :P
This doesn’t look very legendary... I guess we’ll have to see how it plays out in game..
garbage
Well i suppose stealth rogue support.
