I totally see this in a Control Warrior deck. They can afford to wait some extra turns before comboing this with something worthwhile. At least, this is another card to build around. Warrior has been way too one dimensional since rotation. Everything they do depends too much on Risky Skipper.
Damn... This with Restless Mummy
I think Blizzard got lazy with this card's name. It's so... weird and lazy
So a overpowered Rush minion is coming!!!
It should have costed less and have a much weaker body, to be functional.
As it is, it's extremely good with few targets, but just decent with most of them. And the same-turn combo is fairly slow, which means it can hardly grow in Wild no matter what.
Surely it always acts as a soft taunt, and the pool of favourable targets could grow while Standard.
Ugh, so many cool designs and exciting cards, but why EVERYTHING must have good stats no matter how nutty the effect?
Great card but just not enough good rush minions to justify its use. At its best, this one will somehow survive turn 3 to unleash a double Restless Mummy or maybe even Kargath Bladefist, but honestly in my respects its just not as good as Bloodsworn Mercenary which can hit multiple cards not just rush minions.
Probably a sleeper that will awaken once bloodsworn rotates, but otherwise, I just cant see any deck playing this over bloodsworn merc. maybe there's some deliriously powerful legendary rush minion we havent seen yet, but even then I'd argue that bloodsworn merc's just the better card if only because its more flexible.
The one advantage is Merc needs the card to be damaged, this doesn't. So say you are on turn 7, you can play Playmaker, Mummy, now you have 12 rush damage to distribute in trades, granted your first Mummy trades into something with 2+ attack so it dies.
With Merc you could do a similar play but only get 9 rush damage across three trades because you'd likely kill off the first Mummy and then play Merc on the Mummy after it's Reborn.
Two Kargath Primes could also be a big deal depending on the meta. But yes, Merc will likely still be more versatile and therefore better. But the devs really love Rush! It's been a little overused in my opinion since it was debuted in WitchWood. So who knows what they might print next with the Rush keyword. Don't count this Playmaker out just yet.
:O
Perfect addition to rush warrior. Great combos with Restless Mummy and Kargath Bladefist
I think the problem is that it combos exclusively with Restless Mummy and Kargath Bladefist. You're better off with [Hearthstone Card (Bloodsworm Mercenary) Not Found] in most situations since no other rush minions have any sort of effect that's worth replicating like this.
I think this card definitely shouldn't be counted out, and it absolutely has it's upsides compared to Bloodsworn Mercenary, but I think more cards that have rush and have some sort of effect that makes it worth replicating.
I don't see a problem playing both cards. Mercenary has downside - minion must be damaged and using it on a mummy is a waste. Also I'm pretty sure they will introduce some fancy rush minions.
this with mummy can be a great swing
