The Replicator-inator - A sort of card that I'll wait patiently for pros to completely abuse. However, I will say that it doesnt really impress me at first glance. Being able to copy a minion just like that is impressive, but the cost of this minion + the idea that you'll need to keep it in hand until the exact cards comes into your hand makes me a tad unoptimistic.
Building-block golem - Is it just me, or is this card looking broken? Probably not as OP as I would think but it does put plenty of stats on board plus a rush minion at the cost of 5. Either heartstone's power level has scaled to such heights that even cards like these are unplayable, or it really does look as powerful as I think it is.
Gibbering Reject - Now look here team5. Its not like youve never printed cards that put two 3/3s on board at 3, so why the hell is this card costing 4? As though as such a thing has any chance of surviving anyway, and you still need to have a weapon in hand to trigger it. This card is effectively worthless in competitive because look at it.
Part Scrapper - Its that card that makes you want to uninstall the game when it happens to you. Its purposefully made to be powerful because otherwise no one will bother to play it since reno warrior is just way better in any case. But that doesnt excuse the fact that a card like this is just toxic.
While I agree overall, especially in standard, I still think it has some potential.
In wild the Boom Hero for warrior makes the bodies more impactful.
Since it's not a battle cry, resurrection effects to can help you set up a turn for a play. It's also a mech for stealth magnetics.
At least it's an interesting effect with some potential. I wouldn't count it yet quiet yet.
Edit: For the other cards Sockpuppet made me laugh. Mech Warrior is my favorite deck so the Scrapper looks nuts. Also deathrattle Demonhunter stuff is fun. Loved my quilboar deck in wild still. Lots of fun things here.
I did not expect it to be more difficult than Breath of the Wild, but it was. I actually appreciate that - Ganondorf was an actual challenge, versus say Twilight Princess where he could be outsmarted with a fishing pole. It made the final confrontation more epic and nerve-wracking, with this feeling of "oh wow, he could definitely fuck up my shit if I slip." Putting the final boss behind a gauntlet of traversal and battles was a nice touch, as well: you had to prove you deserve to fight him, before he inevitably drove you into the ground :D
I say "top 3 of Zelda titles" is a hard ask when you've got Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Breath of the Wild, and any-other favorites in the running! lol. Too many good choices.
My Grandma owns the game, too, and while she got off the sky island, she's been struggling ever since. She's not good at building things, and she gets frustrated with the shitty weaponry because she doesn't think to attach stuff to improve them. She loved Breath of the Wild, played through it twice (with only a little help from me), but that has not been the case with Tears of the Kingdom. She's currently dealing with trigger-finger problems, as well, so that sucks.
Better hope the other card you plan to play can impact the board, 'cause this Legendary seems practically useless. The Gigantic in particular, unless you're planning to combo it with Hodir, Father of Giants in some capacity.
To elaborate on my review, having put even more time into the game, I have some additional notes:
The game in its current state is challenging - the Boons might be on the weaker side, plus we're all used to Zagreus' playstyle, so it's something to consider.
I must stress that Melinoe is *not* Zagreus: she wants to magically attack from range quite a bit, or use hit-and-run tactics. This is expressed in her weapons, her Magic meter, and her Sprint feature. You can't just brawl your way through enemies while dashing past attacks like before.
Amusingly, while I crushed it early on with an OP combo of Boons, I was rather quickly put on the back-foot in subsequent runs and have since struggled to get ahead again. I accept this rubber-banding as a byproduct of lacking experience with the new stuff, and the tempermental state of the game's balance.
The meter to Call gods and use their special abilities appears to be gone, which I'm totally fine with.
I just finished dealing with a crash on the Steam Deck, so I'll concede it's not 100% perfectly stable.
Having to choose between gathering-tools is kind of annoying. If I take the pickaxe, but run into a sequence of opportunities to fish, I feel like I messed up.
Game's still amazing; just adding some nuance to my gushing about it above lol :)
I'm just now noticing that the wording of Buy One, Get One Freeze is weirdly unnecessary.
Specifying that the copy is Frozen is not needed since the effect is copying a Frozen minion. Ergo, under normal circumstances, the copy would be Frozen anyway.
Product 9 - Probably wouldnt see much play in the current meta because hunters all about playing by tempo, and Im not seeing any possibility of secret hunter being good. Even if we assume this card is playable, its nearly never played on curve and relies very heavily on other cards being played (and triggered) first.
Darkmoon magician - Its yet another casino card that practically is unplayable in competitive but hell it'll make players try. At least there's little chance of it killing itself owing to the elusive tag but really, if such a card was viable then surely tentacle mage would have already been a thing.
Wilderness pack - No clue as to why the cards granted cant just stay in your hand because at its current iteration its practically useless. Once a while it grants you exactly what you need but 90% of the time you'd just play what is playable, end turn, and get your arse whipped. Would have been playable if the cards actually stick to your hand but as it stands its just a highlander card thats played for its own sake
And finally...pro gamer. The lastest of the miniset epics. Does this one suck as per tradition?
Well, I'll say its not shit but its not the 2nd coming of Christ neither. What it is, is simply an a draw option for a class/achetype that would otherwise not have any, like zarimi priest. Plus, there's always the chance of trapping your opponent into a lose-lose situation so there's that.
Probably playable, which is the most charitable thing you can say for miniset epics I guess. Not gonna be surprised if it neverplayed like all its predecessors.
Maybe it will start thoughtful, but then they'll expect the revenue from ad placements to grow every year and under that pressure the limits of "thoughtful" will be stretched again and again.
I know Need for Speed: Underground 2 when I see it. Great choice of thumbnail. :)
As far as advertisements in games, the way that those games did it were fine. Imagine EA just pushing unskippable video ads in their games. You finished a level? Now you need to watch a minute-long ad for Monster energy drinks.
It functions like the Nathria cards where your opponent guesses what you picked: it waits for their turn to happen before they make a decision. See: Suspicious Alchemist. This ultimately means the cards you draw will always have to wait a turn if you're the one who played Pro Gamer - because the effect did not resolve on your turn - while the cards your opponent draws will be immediately available to them.
Rock-Paper-Scissors? I wonder how well that translates everywhere...I know people here in the US who don't call it that, and others who didn't know what it was when I referenced it lol
The Switch might still be worth a purchase, since it has a huge library and I don't expect it to lose suppoer just yet (at least from Nintendo, third parties are probably gonna jump ship). But, seeing as the new consoles is expected to be backwards compatible with the Switch, it's probably best to wait.
As for Christmas, uhhh... The Switch launched in March, so it's possible they do the same here.

This is a card that I made as soon as I saw the Gigantify keyword.
And it's absolutely uncanny how many characteristics of The Replicator-inator it ended up using too.

I am torn between rating Pro Gamer 5/5 ⭐just for the flavour, even though it's rubbish competitively
Even the flavour text is hilarious and extremely meta: "Wow... who could have guessed? Another rock user ruining the meta for everyone as usual."
