I was saying it was knee jerk by the devs. They essentially heard from.the community that their mentality was wrong and they were like oh no totally we're gonna go back to changing old card designs to diversify gameplay.
- meanwhile back at hq they are probably scrambling to figure out what this new approach is even gonna look like
I'm not annoyed yet. I started this game during the TF/Fizz and Aphelios meta. I read everywhere that that meta and the current Blade Dance/Watcher meta were the worst ones ever. I can only compare with Hearthstone but even during this two meta's my homebrew and offmeta decks are still very viable. There is also a lot more deck diversity compared to HS. Maybe I'm not spoiled because I missed the perfect meta's but I think it's surely not that bad now.
That doesn't say I'm not looking forward to the 2.11 patch next month because I really dislike the Watcher deck. Blade dance isn't much better either. I also look forward to the buffs! But this surely isn't a reason to stop playing for a while. I'm still having a lot of fun atm.
On a quick glance Mutanus the Devourer has found its way to many control lists, as has Kresh, Lord of Turtling. Definitely haven't seen all the lists though, maybe there's even more.
I love this idea! Pulling off the combo as early as turn 8 is super cool, but realistically that won't happen often. How about adding a Primordial Protector? This can give us significant board presence on turn 8, and ensure Nagrand Slam is in hand for the combo later on.
It was just a knee jerk reaction though. They didn't have it on the road map so that means we've got a long wait ahead of us till the game is playable again.
I don't know if you been follow the news lately but there have been an uproar in community following the release of patch 2.9.0; streamer, pro player even casual have been complaining non stop. That's why they released a statement promising big changes for patch 2.11.0

That is true but even in the beta polarizing match up existed, for example frostbite cards were always a great counter to any Demacia deck. P&Z would also got countered by SI since losing unit to removal wasn't a issue for that region and they could heal from the burn damage with drain and life steal. Like you said however I definitely feel like they have gotten worse since Targon.
They however could still make many match ups less polarizing by adjusting some cards. No player is asking for perfect balance, take for example Equinox that card allow you to shut down strategies that revolve around cards like The Leviathan or Cithria the Bold. A one mana spell should not be able to negate a win condition, that just bad design. There are many cards like in the game currently which way people have lost their shit over the this patch.
Another good point you mentioned is this whole dividing expansion into three sets. I really feel like it's hurting the game, they should go back to one expansion or maybe two at most.
Thanks I'll try it out. Always nice to see some new lists.
But I wonder, if you hate the ladder climb... Why do it? There isn't much to gain right? I'm playing mainly offmeta decks in Gold/Platinum and play the more meta decks or the offmeta decks which have proven themselves in the gauntlet for the prime glories. I'm even experimenting with homebrews straight on ladder instead of testing them in normal because my rank at the end at the end of the season does not matter at all. Or am I missing something?
Flux, yeah, this kind of forces me to choose a cardback for another reason than being really rare. I think it's time to go back to "current season" CB just to use them all eventually.
Maybe i am kinda late, but i didn't find anything like this anywhere else. I just got out of a gold chest a Draven in the Noxus tree. Right after that, i opened the epic capsule after that gold chest and i got another Draven out of it. I am just hyper lucky or does that happen more often?
It's kinda lucky but not that special too. In my last weekly vault I got a capsule with two champions, one champion wildcard and a epic card! After almost 3 months of playing I got already 96 champions and enough shards and champion wildcards to craft 139 champions, which is already 76% of all total champions! After all these Hearthstone years I'm still surprised every day about how generous Riot is.
The sad part is: when LoR was released people complained a lot of the game beeing too vanilla "boring" because there weren't that many unique decks (that warp the gameplay around their mechanics).
I told those complainers back then that this vanilla nature is what makes the game great and which is/was the basis for many even/only slighly favoured matchups.
Now we see what a diversification in playstyles and the creation in additional niche archetypes (that then also get pushed to be viable) lead to: very polarised rock paper scissor matchups, the need to run tech for specific threats, the resulting need for stronger more flexible/toxic removal like Hush and ultimately a game that is way less enjoyable.
I gurantee you: without Lab of Legends at least half of the current playerbase would have moved on playing another game because the core game got neglected quite a lot. Since call of the mountain they went quite the lazy road with expansions:
They devided expansions into 3 parts to keep up the hype (which doesn't work at all) so that the amount of added content is always rather small. Yet they always want at least 2 archetypes of these new cards to be competitive so they intentionally powercreep the game for the sake of "keeping the game fresh". This approach is simply not sustainable without balance powercreeping old content or nerfing new content.
Anyways: you will never reach unpolarised matchups with the likes of Asol, Riven, Irelia Azir, TLW, Noxus Burn, Soraka Tk, Targon's Peak, Nasus ...
All archetypes being released/buffed back to viability lately.
Riot has imo no grasp on how fundamentally different the game has become since rising tides and given RT was recieved very well by the community you might see why fundamental changes might be bad here...

Great new card, Blizzard.
Hearthstone's 94 Purchasable Card Back List Includes the Diablo Card Back - Full List of All Returning Card Backs
I was 100g short on buying one last night. "It's okay," I thought. "I'll get it tomorrow after completing a quest," I thought.
In the scope of things, it makes sense that this card would not be for sale. Kudos to those who were had the coins to purchase it.
How is this okay
I found this one on twitter and it works well enough for me:

When you are saying "it was a knee jerk" reaction are you talking about the community reaction or the devs response?

I think they missed an opportunity with the entrance sound for Kresh, Lord of Turtling.
"I AM KRESH, I AM A TURTLE!!!!"

So Azor Irelia is still just as strong and exhausting to play against non stop.
The watcher remains unchanged so if you're running any other control deck with a slow game plan and you que into them you might as well concede.
Cards buffs haven't happened to weaker archetypes to freshen up the game.
There's all this great stuff and amazing potential in Legends that is being held down by a laze Faire card balance approach.
So now after waiting so long for this patch that did nothing we have to wait another month to hopefully see the good stuff.
Is anyone getting a little annoyed at this point?

Got Barak Kodobane in my first pack, he was on my shortlist to craft so I'm happy!
Easiest Diamond Climb Of My Life
I would say that I hate the grind but I love the feeling of stumbling onto something that beats everything else people are playing.
So if that means I can for example jam through gold while sitting outside in the sun on my phone thats a chill experience.
But if I ever have to do the 54% winrate thing where you have to play 100 games to make progress I just can't do that.
I was the same way in mtg arena when I climbed to diamond using a rebel burn list, and a super friends fires of invention list.
In shadowverse I would use a behamut dirt list its just fun being unique and finding tech that works and is different.

Darkest Hour 2.0 is indeed better. Add two Demonic Studies to your list to pull off the combo earlier.
