With only a SINGLE point scored this season (he went 0-2 this week... again), Tyler has clearly been slacking off and it seems he is just there for the weekly cheque. I used to be a fan, but not anymore.
Honestly we could use a few more players in the [Game] Card Treasure Hunt. It's the most popular thread here for a reason yet we often don't have enough players.
Try and guess the riddle and if you solve it get the fun of making one of your own! It's fun to scroll through the pages and see how the riddles get solved slowly too.
Come and give it a look if you haven't for a while
Amen!
Now:
- I look the HS news like 20 times a day (My only OCD)
- I post and crack some riddles in the Card Treasure Hunt
- I whine in the Salt thread.
- I awe at kaladin's posts. (quite entertaining and honestly, people shouldn't downvote him that much)
Off of feedback that the flavor of Shield of Souls was not perfect, I decided to make a new card. I've seen a few "Paladin turn evil" cards, but what if I flipped that idea of its head like Renounce Darkness.
Seems cool to me! I don't have much else to say.
Hi Everyone,
I've got one main idea and a backup idea this time that I'm looking for some thoughts on:
Heart of Y'Shaarj is my main idea I'm looking for feedback on - it makes it so you can scale all of your minions up through a game if you're able to hold them. It also can turn Y'Shaarj into a full hand refill of minions.
Toxic Twister is the backup idea, just proving a semi-chaotic flexible removal tool for shaman. Inspired by the Dark Shamans in Siege of Orgrimmar that used corrupted elemental spells.
The warrior card is certainly interesting, but I can't help but think it compares unfavorably to Invigorating Sermon. It makes sense to reduce the cost by half by removing the board buff, but it seems like jumping through many hoops to give the other minions the same bonus. If it gave the ability to corrupt endlessly (like Horrendous Growth) I think it would be powerful enough to build a deck around.
The shaman is solid and I think the effect matches with the flavor of the card very well. Because Blizzard is based in America, they would use "neighbors" instead of "neighbours", not that it matters or anything.
I guess they can aim to cover the Explorers and EVIL members incrementally since many of them are main characters in their own sets. If they are happy to make diamond hero cards, then all of Boom, Togwaggle, Hagatha, Elise and Reno can easily be covered without overlapping with other League members. For the 4 remaining members, there are 3 expansions to choose from (LoE, RoS and SoU), so it only requires 1 double somewhere.
If there is a double in LoE, the achievement points would make sense since collecting the whole set is pretty trivial. That or they add an achievement for the respective card, e.g. play all 3 of Rafaam's treasures to unlock his diamond version.
Tank up is toxic and should be deleted from the game. Never have I hated a deck more that odd warrior and that hero power will forever be associated with that polarising piece of crap
A good read as always and the comedy nuggets are much appreciated!
I admit that I haven't tried out Vol'jin since early in the expansion, but I could see him being pretty useful in the current meta even as a defensive option and that versatility is appealing. I've been kinda tempted to give a DR DH with N'Zoth a go, so I might throw him in this list and see what happens!
All 5 LoE legs deserve diamond treatment, but how could you possibly distribute those? Achievement points is one possible way. I think all of EVIL and LoE will inevitably need to be diamond. Perhaps Lazul is still a bit weak and in need of some lore love, but the rest... Hearthstone built them up as very important characters and i'm certain that in time they shall all become pillars of HS-spcific lore deserving of diamondification.
I dont agree that other meta decks are as strong. I like to play Malphite Thaliyah largely considered to be the worst champions or deck archetype (landmarks) and I feel fine going up again Nasus, Dragons, ez/Draven or every other aggro deck but Irelia/Azir I'd put myself down as 30/70 against me.
A cool feature of golden cards is that they generate more golden cards. Obviously this won't translate over to diamond cards since diamond copies won't exist, except maybe in limited cases like Thaddius or Boom Bots. So I suspect they'll skip some of the obvious choices to avoid the issue (ain't nobody got time to get assets ready for Kel'Thuzad to diamond-ify all minions, or Nefarian to diamond-ify all spells), although it would mean skipping a lot of the games most iconic cards.
Although it's an awkward solution, I think it is best overall if they bite the bullet right away and make it so diamond cards generate golden copies (they already count as golden themselves for the purposes of getting golden coins in an all-golden deck). Assuming they do this, I would personally like them to choose based on which cards best represent the themes/story of the expansions, rather than basing it on power. So I'd say:
Naxx: Kel'Thuzad
GvG: Doctor Boom
BRM: Nefarian
TGT: Justicar Trueheart (maybe time to give us more hero power 'skins' for 1000+ wins? I definitely don't have a vested interest with ~3500 rogue wins...)
LoE: Reno(? all 5 legendaries are pretty equal on importance to the set's story)
I check the site a few times a day while procrastinating on work for news updates on HS mostly. ~80% of my HS consumption is here and the rest is on the Competitive HS Reddit page so I can learn how the enemy thinks ;D
I really enjoy the articles here and leave a comment once in awhile if I feel like someone hasn't already said it better (in which case I just upvote). The same goes for the forums which I check pretty regularly.
My favorite part of the game is theorycrafting and refining off-meta (Hunter) decks through trial-and-error. As such I try to avoid viewing other decks early in an expansion and then start looking through ones with guides later for ideas I might've missed. I try to post a couple successful(?) archetypes with guides each expansion.
I used to avoid the ladder, but the old deck building challenge on HP got me motivated to reach Rank 10 each season so I could participate. I've stuck with that goal ever since and meme to D10 in the current system with the occasional grind to D5 if I feel bad playing something in Casual. (Got there this season with a Primordial Hunter, but at the cost of hating Paladin ;P )
My nostalgia for the old game thread led me to try to create a version here, but I quickly learned how hard it was to keep up with even a weekly post and closed shop. This makes me especially appreciative of the mods who write weekly articles because I know they put a lot of work into them and I'm sure there are plenty of weeks they really don't have the time but still come up with something for us.
Overall, I really like the atmosphere here and try to contribute to it in small ways when I can. A big thank you to Flux, the mods, and all of the users for making this a nice place to visit.
I checked some card interactions and I think my card could be buffed a bit. Do you think it should be 2 or 3 damage, or better left at 1 mana? It requires using the hero power to get the damage, which costs mana, and it is not affected by spell damage unlike Moonfire.
Two extra damage is a Darkbomb, essentially. Perfectly fine output, although it's worse than Frostbolt (which uses 2-mana and a card to inflict 3 damage, but doesn't hurt you and comes with Freeze). I've wavered back and forth on this one, but I think you can get away with the "3 extra damage" iteration.
Was 8-18 in three days of being in gold. About 8 or 9 of those losses came from Az / Ire. made a Az / Ire deck today I’m 7-2 do you think I got that much better over night?
HEY RIOT YOU SEE WHAT HAPPENED TO ELDER SCROLLS LEGENDS AFTER THE OBLIVION PATCH............ yah they merced their own game.
playing Az / Ire isn’t fun to me but I’ll ride this dumb shit to plat if it will help them convince to nerf this crap. I
Yeah but that applied to almost every other meta deck in runeterra. There’s a reason why they are the meta deck lol
