I saw on reddit someone suggested that OMY should be 'counter the spell and give your opponent a random spell of the same cost. It costs 0." I think that's how this card should be changed to. Basically removes the rng away and sometimes allow your opponent to get a spell that may matter later on. That way it will still do what its supposed to do i.e. counter a spell, but make it less frustrating for the opponent.
It will remove the flavor of the card. But hell, I think this is one time I'm willing to overlook it. Mostly because I can't think of another way to nerf this card without doing yet another warsong commander out of it.
It feels so good when your off meta deck with obscure cards like Light's Sorrow and Bolvar, Fireblood executes its gameplan perfectly. No regrets crafting either of them!
What do you guys think about nerfing Oh My Yogg so that it refunds the mana you used for the spell? Because a 1 mana Counter Spell is just way too good right now.
id rather see it cast a spell thats more epensive by like 2 or 3mana. So is a greater Risk to it.
And aso in wild would stop any chance of loosing all your mana if you cast coin or other 0cost spell due the forbidden spells from old gods
- Also, Viper encountering some connection problems at a critical juncture during his match against AyRoK, prompting a redo of the final game.
Yeah, that was really rough. Apparently he got screwed over by Windows update, tried to switch to his laptop then discovered its battery was empty... poor guy. Glad that he still managed to get the win.
Poor AyRok too, the situation was just as hard for him and loosing such a close series with so many technical issues must have infuriating.
There aren't many cases where you would want your 9 mana spell (which is presumably very powerful in its own right else you wouldn't run it) to turn into a Libram of Hope which heals a random target.
I'm not advocating the change suggested above, but I'm not sure it giving the opponent value would be a bad thing. If Oh My Yogg! was a simple Counterspell with a 2 mana discount, then you'd expect the opponent to gain some advantage to balance things out. That's what every under-costed/over-statted minion does, and likewise with the Boomsday 'project' spells.
It feels fair to say OMY! would cost 2 if it were a fair card, and probably ought to have been a rogue secret instead (taking the place of Shadow Clone). If we were to take that view, then giving the opponent a 1 mana boost to compensate for your 1 mana discount would make sense.
However, I think it would never happen because that presents issues with transforming the most expensive spells (10 mana). It would have to add the 'up to 10 mana' line that a few cards have, but there isn't enough space left to write that.
The flavor is almost bound to be a bit off with this theme, but here is what I came up with:
I'm trying to bring the spell generation and the Dragon themes for Priest from Ashes of Outland together in this one. It's a quite powerful effect so maybe 4 Mana is still too cheap.

I like the pun but giving Mage a card that draws 2 for 2 Mana over two turns is probably not the best idea.
Demon
I think the card has potential, but the "Give your hero Taunt" effect might cost you some points. There's no card like this in the game and while Valeera is able to gain Stealth, Taunt doesn't come as naturally for Garosh (or Uther).
linkblade
For me, you have managed to create the most flavorful card yet. My (minor) problem with Forsake the Light is Lothraxion the Redeemed (and to a lesser extent Steward of Darkshire). It's good you've put the card in Frozen Throne, but it would be a massive threat in todays Odd Paladin. Maybe make it cost 2?
Wailor
I like Purging Flame the most, very flavorful idea. Hibernate is a bit off because the Beast has to die first which doesn't fit the Hibernation theme very well. Forest Fire is okay, but Druid usually doesn't sacrifice their own minions. So yeah, the Priest card is the best in my eyes.
I'm hit 115 today. I agree - the motivation for Hearthstone is at the moment not really high and I dont know why. I have Shaman, Mage and Warlock with 900+ wins, the classic and core achievments and so on. But i dont feel the fire inside ;)

Very happy to see Frenetic grabbing a bunch of points, since it frees up another spot for promotion, increasing the chance that Floki gets into GM. xBlyzes situation is very sus, since they're not just both French but also buddies and practice partners. Remains to be seen how the investigation will pan out. Also, very sad that Impact will almost certainly get relegated now. His post on twitter was really sad.
Nothing change much with facing either Paladin/Hunter or Ticklock. I still love to play Control Warrior (sometime Control Shaman), but once I face Tickatus, all that extra fun is all gone.
I've been playing some Control Warrior too, and I don't have problems with the Tickatus Warlock matchups, which I'd say is 60-40. I just mulligan hard for Rattlegore and try to pressure the Warlock with as much damage as I could before I drop it. Of course, there's always the chance that Rattlegore ends up on the bottom of your deck, or your opponent plays Jaraxxus first, but most of the time I find the matchup winnable.
And I agree with you on the stale meta. I can't bring myself to play every day anymore, or even every other day. The prevalence of the same meta decks since the expansion released has been very tiring, and I just find myself not wanting to deal with them that much anymore. Not a good thing since I resolved to complete the entire Tavern Pass this time around...
Oof, I got quite a beating in the finals with no less than eleven 1-star votes. But at least the participation in the finalist voting saw a solid rise of 50%. Let's hope it stays that way.
Been extra lucky for getting "Play a friend" quest twice in last week. That extra 3000xp really helping my lazy play within this stale meta. Nothing change much with facing either Paladin/Hunter or Ticklock. I still love to play Control Warrior (sometime Control Shaman), but once I face Tickatus, all that extra fun is all gone.
For now, I'm just gonna sit back and wait for the miniset. Won't touch Hearthstone for at least every 3rd day of full daily quest. I guess this is what they called a burnout.
I feel like there wasn't a patch, I play at diamond 5 to legend for the majority of the month and I get that I don't matter as they balance around the top 1% of players but it feels exactly the same.
I don't know why they nerfed Spring Water because "we're aiming to lower the frequency of extreme turns where Refreshing Spring Water draws cards and gains you mana in the process." but left Incanter's Flow untouched, when Incanter's Flow can still achieve the same effect.
They clearly stated that if they'd nerf flow, spell mage would take a massive dive in winrate, bordering unplayability. They didn't want to go that far.
Also lol @whoever said warlock has the best control tools. The deck is absolute dumpster-tier still.

Hammer of the Naaru would be 6 Mana and "Overload: 2" in Shaman ;)
