Its probably the cost of the game more than anything else. Hearthstone is incredibly expensive to have fun in. Spend nothing but 8k gold per expansion and you get like half the epics and somewhere around 4-6 legendaries, which honestly depending on luck, gives you like 1-2 decent decks that are usually 1-2 cards short of what pros are playing.
Spend a little, like 40-60 bucks and you're still probably only half way through the entire collection. Spend a monstrous 130 bucks (both preorders) and you still would not get the full collection.
So for players who leave then come back, they would be staring at a near insurmountable challenge of getting back on par without spending hundreds of US dollars, instantly making it inherently unattractive to ever come back, at least in standard.
Changing the dust system is probably the best way to deal with the problem. A more subtle fix is to change the drop rates per pack. But it is activision-blizz we're talking about here, right?
Targon can heal and protect Tahm, especially if it is a Taric deck that uses gems, while Tham gives those type of decks a so much needed low cost kind of removal.
Taric can give Tham though and undamageable after he level up, which work great for Tham. Not only that, after Tham himself level up he wants to attack to obliterate the units he captured, Taric gives the opportunity to attack without going to suicide
Not sure if you knew or not, but we actually have another forum with all the new cards including this one. That's sort of the designated space for these types of conversations. Plus you can rate them 1<->5 stars and see how other players are rating it.

I'm curious how this will work when it kills a unit and you don't have another unit with 1 cost higher than that unit. Will it even kill the unit? Or will it just summon the next highest? The way it's worded makes me think it will just kill the unit entirely.
My interpretation is:
If there is an N+1 cost unit in the deck (where N is most expensive ally on board), kill the ally and summon that unit
Else: do nothing
I think the key word is "Kill your most expensive ally to summon an ally...". In other words, it's like a contract where killing is the price and summoning is the reward; you either get both or nothing. Plus from a game design POV it just feels really bad if you pay 5 mana for something that automatically kills of your best unit for sometimes no benefit and then you can't even block with it.
As much as I love the flavor, it's not a good card unless there's either great synergy (Vlad rework?) or really affordable healing. It's vanilla stats are horrible, and dealing 1 damage to each ally in exchange for +1/+0 is essentially a wash. I could almost see it working in a either a Frejlord or Noxus battlescar deck where you get additional value for having things hurt, but then they had to make this card even worse by giving it vulnerable. I'm just not seeing it.
Wow, I never appreciated all of Glenns work together before, be sure to check out his website. Some incredibly iconic pieces, he's been a huge part of the Warcraft universe, so cool that he's still working on it in 2020. :)
On a side note, funny to see the old un-nerfed boob Jaina on his website!
Unlike every single other online game i played, i didn't face any hackers so far in Runeterra.
Now in Hearthstone, there were 2 ways to cheat i can confirm: 1- Animation stack glitch -> Consist on playing cards with delayed animations as fast as possible on top of each other. Result: The opoonent rope out his entire turn without being able to play anything. 2- Disconection: Client freezes due an unexpected interaction between a few selected cards. Result: Game times out and ends in a draw.
Removal without triggering Last Breath or sending to the dead pool is already worth more than a regular kill, so 8 mana vs the 7 mana of Vengeance (which has seen a lot of play in every meta since beta) is utterly negligible.
The fact that it also removes Landmarks is just icing on the cake.
Bayou Brunch will let him capture another ally and gain stats. Then when he levels up, those allies reappear on the board.
I’m not sure how well it will work, because you need to draw specific support cards to avoid the issues you pointed out. But if you can get the right cards into your hand, this seems very strong

Maybe played with Taric?

New Bilgewater Card - Boxtopus
2 mana 3/1 challenger would be good enough on its own, but the damaged bit opens up even more possibilities (Swain, healing, resummon, etc).

That does not look like Jaina at all. I can see why blizzard didn't go with it.

Mindrender Illucia doesn't work on naxx adventure?
Hi guys,
I've bought one wing of The curse of Naxxramas and played my raza priest to beat the bosses.
I used Mindrender Illucia and her battlecry did nothing. It's a bug? Maybe you can't use Illucia on adventures?
[Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)
Also the 2nd line might be a little too much of a red herring. It refers to another card it has synergy with.

Why are her fingers on her right hand so pointy (in both versions)? Looks unnatural.

Deciding which weapon would be better (worse Axe unless setup? or worse Trusilver without setup?), thoughts?

Sure, but if you're not playing Shadow Isles, I bet you'll still use it.

Slight nerf and sent to demon hunter based on some feedback
New champ - Tahm Kench
I honestly have no idea were this guy goes, Swim keeps thinking that you run these self damage cards with healing, I don't necessarily agree.
It's not enough to just play something slightly overstated, and heal it back to full.
You actually have to have a way to win the game.
Alternatively, you could try to go for Vlad, every one of these creatures you play that damage themselves means Vlad is going down leveled on 6
But I might be way off with that, maybe healing your followers is good enough on it's own, but I doubt it.

It's also Slow, while Vengeance is Fast.
New Bilgewater Card - Fortune Croaker
Yeah, I'm not at all comfortable with what this will do for Swain decks, which are already slightly too good.
