I have a golden Acolyte so I am very excited for this nerf! I didn't expect the card to be nerfed since I have never even seen it played once. I always disenchant golden cards and I always disenchant my priest cards, but I kept this one in case it got nerfed, and it payed off.
Also, super stoked for the Totem Goliath buff. I love that card but always felt that the Overload 2 was a bit harsh.
Changes to Darkglare is brutal. Literally destroyed the card. They might as well have just change it to a 2 mana 2/3, your Flame Imp and Tour Guides cost 0. In standard there's literally no more use for this card, which is kinda a shame since pain warlock is perhaps the most challenging meta deck to play Ive encountered in quite some time.
Secret Passage nerf is a little weak. I guess the idea is that they didn't want this to completely be unusable since its literally the only card keeping all rogue players from yet another galakrond build. Its still decent I guess.
Cabal Acolyte nerf is unexpected. I didn't particularly find this card oppressive in any way, but evidently team5 thought priest was getting a little out of hand, what with Wave of Apathy being literally everywhere.
Now for buffs (of which we won't get any dust from, sigh*)
Totem Goliath slight buff wont change much of anything. Totem shaman matches are decided early game, not late game. If anything I'd say that buffing Runic Carvings would be more impactful.
That willow buff was timely. Perhaps the best way to describe it is that it should've been 8 mana from the start. What the hell does team5 think a 9 mana card should be like? Maybe, just maybe at 8 mana this card will be playable in some meme deck. Its still not very good at the moment since there's only literally one demon card warlock would want off this but its going to be here for another 2 years so maybe at some point this card will take prominence.
Everbloom is a really interesting hero power. It reminds me of pre-nerf Millhouse in which it will allow you to level up every turn after the 7-gold turn and still buy the strongest minion in the board. It would even allow you to roll once from the moment you have a full board. Looking forward to play with her!
The change to +2 attack to pack leader makes sense. I don't know if the -1 attack to the minion itself was really necessary, but we'll see how it goes.
Holy shit, a lot has happened since I was gone yesterday.
Rapid-fire feedback time.
Show Spoiler
Elfensilver - Nearsighted Bully is a really funny card, although I think it being able to attack friendly characters makes it unplayable.
MrRhapsody - Nice effect. I don't feel like it's too egregious as a Common, but it does push the boundaries more than pretty much every other card so far. I don't put it against you though, and the card is good. A problem I do see is that most random effects only hit enemies anyway.
thepowrofcheese - I really like it.
MenacingBagel - It's like a more "explosive" Weasel Tunneler. Kinda cool.
Nirast - Flavorwise, it feels weird that the Trainer has less stats than what it's trying to train. On paper, it's always a 1/2 + a 1/1 for 1 mana. It seems like it might be too strong.
Ardin - Nice! I really like it. I'd say you could probably get away with making it a 1/2 or a 2/1.
I don't mind aggressive; for example Highlander Hunter is a deck I like which is pretty aggressive, but it's not a deck that fizzles out once the early game is over. I think the issue with Demon Hunter is the last thing you mention: that the good cards are the cheap ones, while the more expensive cards are merely OK.
How is it busted, when the decks running the card are even dropping from tier 1?
It's just a powerful card and where's the problem in having a powerful and fun card? It's a deck enabling card to make Aggro Rogues work, instead of that garbage Galakrond. The power in HS increased overtime, especially with arrival of DH and many great early game tools... and SP is just another tool of that kind to help classical Rouge game-play stand a chance, be existent at all, in current the environment.
It's not simply - draw 5 - sometimes you brick, find nothing and can play only one of them, or you play 2 or 3 cards. I don't even play the class, but it hasn't been oppressive to play against and Rogues are easily counter-able. Rogues currently are the worst best decks in HS history, and are even dropping to tier 2 as I write. I mean, it's totally fine to nerf it (and the nerf is okay; power decreased, card playable), but telling the card is busted like nothing is silly.
Secret passage and cabal acolyte will still remain staples in those classes, only now they're better balanced. Darkglare warlock will probably completely disappear from the meta. I'm surprised they didn't do anything about guardian animals or druid in general though. That has to be the most annoying matchup for me whatever I'm playing. It isn't the strongest class, but when they highroll I just feel cheated and frustrated.
RIP Darkglare. We had fun. I'll always remember dumping 2 giants on the board on turn 4 and watching my priest opponent concede. I'll miss you, little buddy.
That is a great point! Demon Hunter is such an awkward class to talk about with stuff like this because they simply don't have the larger card pool everyone else does and with them being so aggressive, all the good cards are always so cheap.
All I can say is, I had a 7-win expedition over the weekend using Demacia and Bilgewater. I lost to a Targon deck exactly once, and beat several others.
Did I win because they invoked garbage every time? No, because as I mentioned, it is nearly impossible to invoke garbage, ever. I won because I took advantage of the fact that every Celestial card is slow, and I played in such a way that they didn't get a chance to blow me out with slow spells.
I hope in 9.99 as they will do this type of event each month (10 months for 10 heroes plus 2 months without event during expansions to finish within one year as promised)

I've never even seen Archwitch Willow be played. I think they should have kept her body stats untouched though. Still seems pretty tough to play.

Darkglare damn, they killed my levelling deck. Now I have to really put effort getting those last 30 wins to 1000.

Darn it!
I literally just dusted a golden Acolyte, never play priest, so didn't realize it's power I guess. Ah well, I do have a golden dark glare at least.
Passage is still a staple, the buffs are fine, Darkglare probably RIP

Agree 100%. I tried the deck a few times, and I always felt like Hawk was the most pointless card.
