I think it was more of a Wild Growth.

is [Hearthstone Card (dark glare) Not Found] really dead? it's still a decent card.. you can chain Flame Imps with him and also he still triggers Flesh Giant

also he doesn't require coin anymore to play on turn 2.. so that's something and having 2 on board is like nothing happened.. with the nerf to rogue it's probably a little bit better?

Secret Passage is still busted, even at 3 cards it's still would be meta defining... dunno why they think Rogue needs such a powerful card.

Secret Passage is still busted.  Although limiting it to 3 cards could make the card utterly useless.  My suggestion would be to up the cost to (2) because that would require a little more finessing to get it out in the earlier stages of the game, but still not make it less likely to play.

As for Darkglare the utility has gone substantially down.  It will probably still be seen in play but not nearly as abusive as it is currently.  Regardless of the stats, having it out there to reset 2 mana each time you take damage in a class that is known for really pushing hard on the cards that hurt you but bring pain as well... it was kinda powered for that ONE build.  NOW players will need to find a way to explode on 1-2 turns with 2 of them on deck, but the days of getting out 2+ giants by T4 are going away.

So I'm not the only one, it's kinda frustrating when somehow the game crashes you can't rejoin your game no matter what.

    W8 & see I guess.

  • First Day Of School - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

Based on all the feed back, here's the definitive version:

Way more versatile now, you can use to aim your Arcane Missiles on the minion you want to hit; or protect a specific friendly minion against Deadly Shot. Less stats, more versatile and easier to understand. The chosen minion would have an aura around it like Reborn to remember the players who's chosen target. All other possible doubts will be answered in the descripition.

Lightning speed feedback because time is short:

Goliath: I would prefer a 1/1 statline, but it's good as it is.

MenacingBagel: Very nice! My only suggestion is to remove the "your opponent" line for "them".

Nirast: I like it, but i think it is too much. What about a 1/1 that summons a recruit with Taunt or Divine Shield? (and btw, all hits of Dark Skies will hit the chosen minion now).

Ardin: Very cool, it's fine as it is IMO.

  • Zendikar Rising Card Spoilers for September 3 - 39 New Cards

White looks like it's starting to get scary control tactics, Angel of Destiny and Archon are great cards.  Destiny is an easy enough win condition to achieve.  Just need to focus life gain, control (thank you Archon), and protecting the Archon for one turn.  Doesn't even need to connect face to win the game.

Rules lawyer question if anyone knows the answer.  Lets say you attack with the Angel of Destiny and it's killed.  If you cast another one from your hand and have the needed life did the other player lose the game?

Do we know the cost for this bundle?

  • Happy Yargle Day! Get 1200 XP for Participating in Today's Event + Secret Lair

Fun way to crack out 5-15 minutes in Arena, depending on luck.  Every deck had a way to 'cheat' out the win. Each had a way to counter the other deck.  End result is quick games but luck of the draw.

  • So who thought that a region being generally good at card advantage was a good idea?

    Quote From CursedParrot

I think that you’re both right in your own ways. I think that Invoke cards basically work as a single card that is split into two smaller cards that can be played at different times. Once you play both “halves” of the invoke card (the invoke card itself and the Celestial it produces), you are down in card advantage in the same way that you would be by playing a single, expensive card. However, when you play the first “half” of the Invoke card you haven’t yet lost out on card advantage. Invoke cards are different from normal on-curve plays in that they take far longer to lose card advantage, but they are also far different than a pure late-game card like Tryndamere in that the two halves of them can be split up at different early parts of the curve, removing the downside of “bricking out” that late game cards have.

It depends. Because several celestial cards will get you a two for one by themselves. And the invoke card you played must be dealt with independently than the celestial card you get.

There's also the fact that it's not always the same card. I can't consider them half cards, because I can attack an opponent at 3 life with Moondreamer, (or block) and it doesn't matter that I don't play the celestial card it gave me. The card still does something. I would agree if all invoke guys were 0/1.  They basically could do nothing but chump. But you can still use them to keep low defense guys at bay.

Also, your opponent can use a card to remove it, which is basically a -1 for them.

  • 5 New Decks You'll Want to Play from Popular Legends of Runeterra Streamers

Calling a deck "Support Aggro" sounds so silly to me. There are supports in League with an aggressive playstyle, of course, but I'm picturing a support who's become a little too aggro in their mindset. "I AM SUPPORTING YOU. IS THIS ENOUGH SUPPORT? TAKE THESE HEALS AND LIKE THEM! RAWR!!" lol.

Unrelated to the above, but I'm very interested in the Leona deck. Still haven't crafted my main girl yet...soon. Just waiting to see what kind of deck she works best in.

We have had two other purchasable Hunter heroes - Alleria Windrunner and Sylvanas Windrunner.

For Rogue, yeah, we've only had Maiev Shadowsong and that was a while ago. At least we can't be too far off a new Rogue hero!

I think the real reason we're getting Jaina first is because she is the first hero you unlock when playing Hearthstone. They can move new players from the tutorial over to the adventure easily and it's an extra step of learning for the game.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Book of Heroes is a new tutorial mode and once it's completed with all heroes available, that will be the new way to unlock them all. The Demon Hunter campaign was a great way to introduce heroes and its possible Basic card unlocks could be moved to individual fights in the adventure.

I think it's doing it for everyone.

Maybe it's preparing for an extra balance patch?

  • Alec Dawson Explains the Reasoning Behind the September Hearthstone Balance Changes

Thanks you for pointing this out. I never really liked Galakrond Rogue, feels so out of class identity. I understand that some enjoyed it,but not me. A classic cheaty, stealth decks feel much better, and aggro really needed a push (in Wild, too).

  • First Day Of School - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

I added an extra comma and changed the set to Uldum. I feel pretty confident in my card but I want to be sure it is as good as it can get before I submit it.

Someone asked how this would work with double Battlecry on a 1-health minion. I think it would kill it and get the +2 health twice since both Battlecries would happen before the minion dying is resolved. Maybe I am wrong, but I am pretty sure that is how it would work.

    Some quick feedback:

    Nirast:

    Show Spoiler
I like it, though I think it is too efficient by itself. Usually, tribal cards should be slightly sub-par without synergy, but then slightly above average with synergy. Right now your card is just too good by itself. I would make it a 1/1 but have it not summon a Silver Hand Recruit.

    Ardin:

I love it. I think Animal Companions are super cool and this is a very interesting way to make use of them. I do think making it either a 2/1 or a 1/2 is a good idea.

Thank you, not that hard at all! :) I just didn't like failing comments, so I didn't try enough to make it work. 😁

  • Hearthstone's September 5 Card Balance Changes Detailed - Secret Passage Nerfed

Why do they rush? why is one stealth? why is one taunt? why does one draw 2??? Why can they do it on my turn 3 and their turn 8? Why can't we delete priest? Why is the sky blue?

    Blizzard pls!

Because otherwise there's no reason to play any rogue deck without galakrond being in it.

Without any decent finisher like leeroy in the mix, rogue decks can't really do much outside of galakrond honestly.

And darkglare is dead. The only reason in standard to play him is because you can strategically dump your hand on turn 3 and play a flesh giant. Now its only application is to dump 2 cards or rely on a turn 5 play with 2 of em'

  • The Datamined Scholar Jaina Playable Hero is From a Shop Bundle Arriving on September 15

Another mage skin.... What is this like 6th/7th... Pls some rogue hunter (they still have 1 skin if i am not mistaken)

  • Alec Dawson Explains the Reasoning Behind the September Hearthstone Balance Changes

True. I don't get why everyone's pointing out how bad the stats changes are when its obvious that she's going to be pulling out at least 10/14 worth of stats in most cases.

5/5 is still respectable in any case.

  • Alec Dawson Explains the Reasoning Behind the September Hearthstone Balance Changes

I mean I think it's kinda fair to not just forget about Wild, but it sucks for Standard because there really aren't any other competitive Warlock decks around

  • Alec Dawson Explains the Reasoning Behind the September Hearthstone Balance Changes

Worst part is darkglare getting batted for being too OP in wild, not standard apparently.

As though there aren't better targets in wild cough* Open the Waygate cough*

Archwitch Willow at 9 was weird.. really I thought the card was alright but it was indeed quite weak.. at 8 it's much more viable the difference between 8 mana and 9 is HUGE.. it means it comes up much faster.. her stats don't matter much she could've been a 1/1 for what's it's worth..

Totem Goliath is a cool card but it was really overcosted and as a 4/5 with no immediate threat he was often ignored at 5 attack he is more likely to be targeted for being removed from the board and 1 overload leas is quite huge for a tempo  deck.

Secret Passage is still busted, even at 3 cards it's still would be meta defining... dunno why they think Rogue needs such a powerful card.

Cabal Acolyte is a card I underrated, I mean.. probably not on the reveal but I didn't play with him.. mainly cause I am missing cards for priest though :/ even at -2 hp I think it's still worth.

  • Battlegrounds in Patch 18.2 - Three New Heroes & Minion Changes

Oof. And the power creep just keeps piling on. Lord Barov isn't even remotely balanced. You can buy nothing turn one and bet on your opponent to win. Next turn, buy a minion, don't play it, bet on your opponent to win. Turn after, you got 11 gold to play with, so you level for 3, buy 2 minions, bet on your opponent to win (leaving you with one coin). Turn after that, 6 gold turn, you have 10 gold so you can buy 3 like you were Milhouse and bet on yourself to win cause now you have 6 (!!) minions on the board. You're essentially always drowning in money from turn 2 and all it cost you is like 5 health. Meanwhile, in Bazhial land....

Omu is just strictly better Bartendotron, to the point of making me question why Bartendotron still exists in his current form.

Jandice is Hooktusk 2.0. Broken with tokens, middling with everything else. Except if you roll with your last coin and hit gold, you can toss your worst minion for, say, a tier 3 minion on 7 gold.

And they didn't nerf Lich King, so apparently they are comfortable with making more and more heroes crushingly OP while leaving others just as unplayable as before.
