Aside from weapons (and by extension pirates), warrior and rogue really don't have very much in common. Warrior has lots of taunt, armour, AoE, and an interest in minions being damaged, while rogue is expressly given none of these (having an interest in undamaged minions for the last of them). Similarly warrior has little in common with rogue's main mechanics. So it is little surprise that the rogue/warrior cards focused on the one thing they actually overlap on.
Even then though, it is not as though the 3 weapon-based rogue/warrior cards mean the whole set revolves around weapons for the two classes. Accounting for all 14 cards each class gets, they both have 9 that have nothing to do with weapons, which would almost constitute an entire set of class cards in a normal expansion.
At the cost of two less health, Ironbeak Owl lets you silence any minion and can bypass Taunts. That card isn't even run, and the health difference doesn't really matter much since you shouldn't expect Magehunter to survive and attack again most of the time. Demon Hunter already has a bunch of good cards; they don't want to be running a situational card like this.
The comunnity always overeact to nerfs. Noxus aggro is still fine, but it isn't a S tier deck anymore.
Fewer people are playing that deck due to a factor i call: " The Snowball Nerf " effect. 1- A given top tier deck gets nerfed so it becomes now a Tier A deck instead. 2- Top rank streamers will drop that deck to play the next top S tier deck. 3- Many players will copy whatever their favorite streamer is playing or any new tier list available. 4- As it drops further and further in popularity, more casual players drop it as well, perceiving it as a sign of weakness. 5- The deck is then considered to be overnerfed just because no one is playing it.
What I've seen happen, at least in Hearthstone, is that people give up on an archetype after a nerf because they think it's 'dead'. That may be because Blizzards usually obliterates their cards, though. Wait until a streamer of sorts makes a Noxus aggro deck and it'll be back.
No they didn't overnerf it. The grenadier + transfusion + crimson disciple package was seeing play in nearly every aggro-oriented deck. The nerfs were justified and the deck is still serviceable.
Nox + bilgewater is a decent aggro deck. Problem is the only decks you face nowadays are sejuani/ashe and ezreal/tf cause no good players feels like innovating or playing at this point due to new cards being around the corner.
Personally I don't like how these cards were mostly pigeonholed into only weapon support cards. Was that the only direction to take these class cards? Another reason I'm glad I play wild, I don't have to only play one archtype when a new expansion comes out.
Grenadier feels fine, being a 3/2 with upside is arguably a buff, gets to swing in and then latter deals 1 damage is a good aggressive card. However crimson disciple being a 2/3 with sometimes upside of doing 1 damage feels infinitely worse. Its possible you only run it in vlad decks now.
This feels like a spell version of Body Wrapper, which is to say this isn't that good. Most decks aren't playing for adding cards to your deck to protect against fatigue and the fact that your opponent can dilute the quality of the spells you shuffle just makes Educated Elekk inconsistent for that fatigue plan. Maybe after Archivist Elysiana rotates out the Elekk will have a chance?
I believe they said that dual-class cards count as simply class cards for the purpose of the class you put them in. It was i think in regard to Pure Paladin, the question was, if the deck would work with dual-class cards in it and the answer was yes.
So any rogue-warrior or rogue-mage cards would not buff Cutlass.
Baby Loatheb has a lot to learn from the real one. The main problem with Cult Neophyte is that the 1 cost increase on the spells rarely matters, as Loatheb often outright prevented a lot of spells from being played and that's the main reason why he was, and still is, an impactful legendary. Cult Neophyte doesn't come close to that level of lockout/prevention, and there are better minions to play on turn 2.
No, for example Coerce won't affectSpectral Cutlass or Vendetta because it's still a rogue card. Think dual class cards as 2 separate cards but with the same name and effect.
The passage about Steeldancer got me thinking about Spectral Cutlass - would the dual class cards count as a card from another class? I think I recall that the MSoG triple-class cards did?
I don't think they would release a champion without any corresponding support cards; that's just going to give the community a sour impression of said champion.
Thank you so much for this article! Brawl Haul is my favorite content on outof.cards and the reasoning behind the card choices makes this section very enjoyable to read even if I’m not going to play it. So far I finally saved up wildcards and crafted the Chandra Brawl deck coincidentally today and it’s really fun and more interesting than constructed for me, this will be my next craft. Also I like Nicol Bolas a lot and the idea behind this deck
Nice draw for both classes since it'll be either real cheap or might be a bit expensive but they both have enough weapons to sustain a cheap draw unlikes that candle breath or whatever.

New Paladin & Warrior Spell - Shield of Honor
I think that pally will not use It a lot, but warrior can abuse.
Enraged minions with divine shield can be really OP.
So did the last patch kill Noxus aggro?

New Priest & Warlock Minion - Brittlebone Destroyer
This card, with some others from this set, might finally give enough power to create a wild Even Priest deck lists.

I haven't face a single Nox aggro deck since. And I admit I stopped playing mine. You think they overnerfed it?

This is like a 5 mana Hogger that your opponent gets to control when you summon the 2/2 taunts, which is to say this card isn't good.

New Demon Hunter Minion - Magehunter
Demon Hunters have a ton of silence effects now. :/
New Rogue & Warrior Spell - Cutting Class
Nice draw for both classes since it'll be either real cheap or might be a bit expensive but they both have enough weapons to sustain a cheap draw unlikes that candle breath or whatever.
New Rogue Minion - Vulpera Toxinblade
I like Vulperas. Cute intelligent animals. =)
New Mage & Shaman Spell - Primordial Studies
Both dual class card and a study. Nice flavor plus a powerful card.
New Rogue Spell - Plagiarize
Hard to play around while trying to play around other secrets. OP card for low ranks.
New Neutral Minion - Cult Neophyte
Nice combo breaker.
New Rogue & Warrior Spell - Cutting Class
Weapon warrior... This will be a strange meta.
