This card is pretty good. Some of the tempo warrior deck shave ran deathwing and they all run grom now, and this kind of does similar things as both and its arguably better than deathwing for a midrange/temp deck
It pushes more damage than grom without an activator so it's a lot better to jam on 8 if you don't have the activator, but grom has the combo potential.
It's kind of better than deathwing in some ways. Deathwing has a lot more board control potential but it also wrecks your own board. This puts more stats and bodies on an empty board than deathwing AND goes face for six, and it does have some board clearing potential but RNG based and not as strong as deathwing.
As an avid HS fan card maker, this is part of the numerous concepts I thought about but discarded because it would be too OP, only to see Blizz later adding it to the game. Same thing for Frazzled Freshman.
Sindragosa is my favourite hero, so glad to see someone play her and do well with Mechs. I always used to play mechs but have lost my groove since pirates were released, this has inspired me to play mech again.
This seems solid it just needs a certain kind of deck to be in. there is a lot of support cards for a big beast hunter, just need some stuff to put it all together. A lot of the beasts you might play can kind of double dip on the +1/+1 or the copy in some way.
If you're playing a midrangey beast hunter deck. if you play it early it's a keleseth for your beasts, if you play it later its a faceless manipulator for 3.
right now though, because of Scavenger's Ingenuity, we're playing a minimum amount of beasts so we can tutor them. there is going to be need to be some more incentive to not do that.
playing this on 10 with brann for two king crush's seems a lot less of a meme than it should. that can honestly be a thing.
As far as druid, this is actually a little bit interesting. it would need a ton of support but mana sabre and winged guardians are good beasts.
Yeah, I was wondering which one was his championship card for a while. It's a bit more obscure than say Fiery Bat. But it was during the previous Masters Tour broadcast I heard them talk about the meaning of his name and how Priest of the Feast was his card. Pretty cool!
I wonder if Tom's championship card is Madame Lazul, which would make sense as his Global Games team used magic to know what their opponent had burned earlier, and Lazul gives you info regarding your opponent's hand! :)
Sindragosa isn’t the most exciting hero, it doesn’t let you high-roll a golden Hangry Dragon on turn 4 or steal a minion from your opponent but I find his hero power makes for a very consistent early/mid game carry that lets you avoid damage and win fights while building up an end-game board. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the early game and how I play Sindragosa.
Turn 1 – 3 gold – 3 minions in shop
Out of the 3 minions offered, generally pick the strongest minion or the minion most likely to win or tie fights, you want to avoid taking damage in the first two turns. You can’t be too picky and you need to freeze the board on turn 1, even if the minions aren’t necessarily that great. Best case scenario minions to freeze:
Righteous Protector – taunt and divine shield, makes a fantastic early game minion as a 3/3 or 4/4 taunt with divine shield
Fiendish Servant – deathrattle to transfer attack to other minion, it’s not the best but could possibly help you win a fight or two you would have otherwise lost
Vulgar Homunculus – if I’m not buying this on turn 1 because I have other options, I actually like freezing this minion because it becomes a quick 4/6 or 5/7 taunt and can be further buffed by Nathrezim Overseer at Tier 2 if you find one.
Mechs – I generally don’t mind freezing mechs because they are so easy to buff at tier 3 and 4.
Wrath Weaver – I like freezing the Weaver because I can defrost it at turn 3 or 4 and keep buffing it. Even if I don’t force demons I can spend a little bit of health and have a quick 8/8 minion by tier 3 to help win some fights.
Turn 2 – 4 gold – 3 minions in shop
Tier up and freeze the board.
Turn 3 – 5 gold – 4 minions in shop
This is where things get weird, it depends on how you started and what are your minions in the shop. At this point you have 3 buffed minions in your tavern (2 with a 2/2 buff, 1 with a 1/1 buff) and a 4th unbuffed minion, hopefully tier 2. There’s generally a couple common situations but you’ll still freeze the board at the end of your turn:
You started turn 1 with a token, so either a 2/1 murloc tidehunter or a 1/1 Alleycat. I’ll sell the token and buy two minions. I don’t want to lose to next fight so my best case scenario would be to buy the unbuffed minion and buy the minion that benefits the least from a buff. So for example, if I have a Deck Swabbie and Righteous Protector that has been frozen since turn 1 and a Mecharoo frozen since turn 2, I’ll likely buy the Deck Swabbie that is now a 4/4 since it can probably win a fight and I’d rather keep buffing the other two minions.
You did not start with a token, but the 4th minion that just came out is stronger, say a 3/4 Steward of Time, sell your minion, buy the 3/4 Dragon and buy a 4/4 Deck Swabbie.
You did not start with a token, and the 4th minion that just came out is trash. Buy the trash, sell the trash so that the empty spot refills next turn, buy the 4/4 Deck Swabbie.
Turn 4 – 6 gold – 4 minions in shop
This is again another interesting turn with Sindragosa and it depends on your board and your health at this point:
You’re still above 37 health and you’re fighting someone weak, buy the two weakest minions (if they’re still useful) or buy one of the minions that has been frozen since turn 1. Freeze the board.
You’ve lowrolled into Rafaam turn 2 and AFK turn 3 and your health is getting low, buy the 2 minions that have been frozen since turn 1. Freeze the board.
Turn 5 – 7 gold – 4 minions in shop
Really depends on what you’ve built up to this point but you should buy one minion and tier up to Tier 3. If you’ve only got one remaining buffed minion in the shop, buy it and don’t freeze and look for tier 3 minions next turn. If you have been greedy, you may just buy a single minion frozen since turn 1 and freeze the board again.
At this point, you should have a decently buffed board. Try to build the strongest board you possibly can at turn 6 to ensure that you can comfortably tier up to Tier 4 by turn 7. Don’t get married to your minions and if you can sell a buffed minion to replace it with a stronger minion, don’t be afraid to do it. Your hero power beyond this point is a perk but don’t freeze minions that aren’t that great just because of the 1/1 buff.
To recap all of the above, freeze your board every turn for the first 4 turns and try to play around with what is being offered to you as best as you can. I’ve uploaded a video of me playing Sindragosa at 12k MMR that further explains my thought process throughout:
It's also seen on the art of the new card Troublemaker and its Ruffian token (bottom left and right, respectively), both by Matt Dixon. I don't think it's anything else than an easter egg he likes to include.
I love that, it definitely had to have come from Matt and making art for Blizzard this long, they "allow him" (are thankful for) these kind of quirks imo that make the art better. And he just puts these little things here and there. I wonder if other artists do the same, im sure some of them do, like their little secret calling card.
Well, if you give him enough time to do that, than yes. I think it is more like Cubelock. It doesn't even have those N'Zoth and Bloodreaver's big comebacks, so if you consider Cubelock fair, then Big Shaman is fair too.
Because if big priest isn't given time they still pull big minions out of their behind? Both decks cheat out their minions around turns 4-6 and then resurrect them over and over. Either by having them die first and then using resurrect spells, or having them resurrect themselves as soon as they die.
And the rest of the deck is just filled with all the best removal and healing cards.
The decks play the exact same, are both equally """""fun""""" to play against and both don't require much thought at all. Stall with removal, cheat out big card, abuse mechanics to have big card win you the game.
It's also seen on the art of the new card Troublemaker and its Ruffian token (bottom left and right, respectively), both by Matt Dixon. I don't think it's anything else than an easter egg he likes to include.
Love the flavor text, although I'd be willing to say these guys are here to cause devastation instead of protecting us from it, but who's to say for sure.
Honestly I'm surprised they don't have any dredge like cards that use your graveyard as a resource. They have a ton of discard cards but nothing to bring back discarded cards outside of deep.
Cards like that would really help champs like Jinx be more viable. Also you could build decks that discard expensive heavy hitters early on only to bring them back later during the mid game like turn 5 or 6 for cheap.
You could also take that as a way to add mill cards and cards to discard cards your enemy has in their hand or deck and even use your dredge cards to take from their graveyard too.
Honestly I think you guys are judging the deck without actually trying it for a good ten games. I have literally not ran into one rez priest on ladder. I played quite a bit of it in the past but it was always kind of a guilty pleasure. Big Sham differs because it really takes some skill to navigate. RP was pretty autopilot. BS really takes some actual piloting.
Discolock has given me some problems but Mech Pal and Pirate Warrior are actually easy wins most of the time.
You basically are skipping a few turns for a ridiculous discount into the late game, hopefully midgame. It is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy more consistent than these comments have been noting it for. It works! Try it, you won't be dissapointed.
(I think this thread was created because I really really want to have more mirror matches with it, they are very interesting)
Why do you have an issue with Ashe when Tryndamere and Braum wear even fewer clothes?
Because I forgot about them. I don't see their picture every single time I sign in like I do with Ashe. Thus Ashe is more memorable. Also she is one of my fav champs to use on top of that. So basically Braum and Tryn were an out of sight out of mind thing.
side question, can this be the first step into creating a different game mode with decks being able to run dual class as in MTG?
I actually thought this the day I realized we're about to receive a new mode for Constructed: maybe we'll get to build decks after choosing two classes. And Ranked mode retains an echo of it with the dual-class cards...
Shaman kicks in 1 turn earlier than each Big Priest summoner, which is why BS is substantially more successful than BP.
Add to this a heavily board-based Aggro population, with nobody bothering with Maiev Shadowsong (I'm seriously baffled at this tbh), and you get a pretty successful deck.
I don't think it is actually t1, especially after the meta adjusts against it (BS is barely more than Off-meta atm, and up to few days ago everyone was focused against Odd DH and PW), but it is a viable deck.
And the new Lightning Bloom threatens to throw everything way over the top.
It's since pre-nerfed Barnes that I keep saying that no Summon from hand should ever cost less than (5) and no Summon from deck should ever cost less than (7) or even (8)...
Well, if you give him enough time to do that, than yes. I think it is more like Cubelock. It doesn't even have those N'Zoth and Bloodreaver's big comebacks, so if you consider Cubelock fair, then Big Shaman is fair too.
