Twin Slice, Battlefiend, Netherwalker, Satyr Overseer. My mage opponent banned Battlefiend, I saw Arcane Missiles, Sorcerer's Apprentice and Flamewalker and banned Arcane Missiles. It went poorly for him from there.
Sadly my two-week streak of my classic pack having a legendary (Millhouse and then Thalnos) came to an end, but the dust of 4 commons and a rare is never unwelcome.
What would you replace Underlight Angling Rod with in that Pure Paladin deck? I don't have one and don't want to craft a Murloc card because I generally hate them. I own everything else the deck requires.
well, maybe a bit Less outside of the box... the anagram does answer the interview question coherently (meaning it’s closer to a set), but consider this: if the anagram only reveals the set, how come that alone is enough to discover the card?
Why oh why did they ruin a perfectly good brawl, by including stupid broken Wild cards. Every time they have one of these, we end up with Hunter mechs and Flamewankers. I've seen it a thousand now. Can we just have one of these in Standard format?
I assume it's that code thing where the letters get substituted, haven't you done one of those before? If I remember correctly they are usually solved by taking short words like "cop" in this case and see if the riddle makes sense if that means "the" or "and". There are other similar tools to crack these that I don't remember because I'm not into this, but if you really did the code thing and made them anagrams on top of that... that's a tough one.
So I'll just pounce on the interview part, guess Daring Reporter and beg for a hint ;-)
Whatever you did, kudos for coming up with yet another style!
I agreed with your comment that it doesn't really help Untapped Potential decks, so I made this version that could act as a finisher with cards like Oasis Surger in Untapped Potential Druid, and maybe even motivate them to run more Choose One minions instead of mainly Spells. I kept this version as a 5/3 because it seems a lot better. Do you think I should change the design to fit with Untapped Potential, or is it okay if it mainly synergizes with just one quest?
i think you may want to change the text. choose one isn’t formatted that way, and the text is barging into the Attack box

I guess it's about the sentiment that Arthas looked like the winner of the last competition right from the start, which became a thing because it was your theme. If I remember correctly someone said something along the lines of Arthas not being made for the competition, but the competition themed to fit Arthas, which came up again when you indeed won in the end.
While I understand those feelings and have to admit the same thought crossed my mind, it clearly is absolutely legitimate to do so. Everybody who wins a competition at least benefits from knowing about the theme earlier than the rest of us (this argument being somewhat softened if they suggest multiple themes) and might actually build their suggestion around a cool card they created beforehand. But to be fair, everyone of us has a chance to reap these benefits, we just have to win a competition. The only alternative I can think of would be to ban the one who suggests the theme of the week from the respective competition, and that would be a poor reward for winning indeed. So we'll just have to live with the fact that the winners get a little headstart when their theme is due and compensate with a burst of creativity and brain power. It's also worth noting that there's a week's break between the win and the winner's themed competition, so there's no way to influence every week for any one competitor. And after all, you can't predict other people's creativity, I don't expect a lot of cases of people winning their own themes.
tl;dr: imho, there's a grain of truth in that criticism but it can't be helped. You didn't do anything wrong or unfair and shouldn't feel bad. Those wins were well deserved.
While I'm here, an apology: I stopped handing out feedback 'cause I'm taking a little break from the competition this week. Wasn't feeling good on my cards, and it bugged me when someone chewed me out for not giving others a chance to win. Sorry I haven't been participating.
Hey, it’s OK!
Firstly, whoever said that was completely out of place. You winning 3 times only means that your card was the best that week, which means you are damn good at making cards!
Secondly, we all have off weeks, both in games and just in life. You don’t need to feel bad about taking a break in order to recentre and refuel.
I’m sorry this comp didn’t work out for you, but I hope all the next ones do
I could see this not needing the minion to have reborn to grant the deathrattle effect. Maybe it might make it a little too powerful, but I'm not sure. Just so you know, there's already a submission for a 2-mana paladin spell that has the same deathrattle effect.

I like the first one, personally. If you go with the second one, you could drop 'another' from the text box. The effect is already clear in what it does and it would get rid of the fourth line of text to make it read nicer.
@Sinth

I like the suggestion of making it a 2/4. A 1/4 isn't going to effect the board very much and your opponent can overrun it easily even if manage to resummon it several times. Having to heal requires some investment, either by using your hero power or running cheap healing effects in your deck. I remember Mana Geode being way overhyped when it came out.
@Thez

Grammar: It should say "Add a 'Renew' spell to your hand" to make it crystal clear.
Balance: This is a little cheap for the amount of value it gives. I would make it a 4 mana 3/3 if you want to keep the same cost-stat ratio.
Design: I like it. Seems pretty solid.

I think on-draw effects could be something that the game can experiment more with. I don't like resurrection effects in Hearthstone, and I don't like them when they're stapled for free onto a minion with premium stats. Sorry, not a big fan of this.
@KANSAS

Some cards overload for multiple mana crystals, so this has the potential to snowball. I think it's fine for now, but if others find it too powerful, you might want to change so that it counts each card with overload instead.

I'd say go ahead and add the fourth point of health. I struggle to see how it works with Untapped Potential outside that its a Choose One card. I doubt that that those decks run many big minions to get a big advantage out of this.
Wasn't "face roll" but it was Fun, went lock (mostly cause I wanted to play with Nemsy some), Curse of Rafaam, Gnomeferatu, Imprisoned Scrap Imp, and Chaos Gazer. As I said, not OP just fun, and makes it hard for your opponent to choose, I had one person Rope just deciding what to Ban. If I got to keep Imprisoned Scrap Imp, on turn 4 I would drop one a turn and they would have to deal with Ever growing Minions. Took me 3 matches to get my win, but I enjoyed everyone of them.
Maybe it's not from a set, but a generated card? Or something like a treasure card from an adventure? Just trying to think "outside the box", not sure if choosing a non-collectible card is allowed or not, but hey... maybe.
As a Master palyer myself with peak rank 1 (I dont want to brag, but this is the reason why you should listen to me), I'd like to share a more optimized version of the deck!!
You always play 3 glimpses in this deck if possible. Also when playing sharks, you should always include monkey idol as well!!
As a nearly mono shadow isles deck, you should defnitly consider running Wraithcallers and mistwraiths over arachnid horrow (especially because you dont run elise as well). Wraithcaller is also a great target for kalista to bring back, as it summons another mistwraith!!
Soul Shepard is also much better then Stirred spirits!!
While I'm here, an apology: I stopped handing out feedback 'cause I'm taking a little break from the competition this week. Wasn't feeling good on my cards, and it bugged me when someone chewed me out for not giving others a chance to win. Sorry I haven't been participating.
Thats not cool. Guess whoever said that should make better cards then :)
Yeah I apologize for that. It was meant to be just playful teasing, I didn't mean for you to take it personally.
I second this. Your fear of people putting too much emphasis on the description is understandable but I don't think it will be a big issue. It's still up to the voters to decide if they read it or not and up to the creators if they add one or not.
If Xarkkal doesn't mind I'd also like to add my suggestion of a preview and / or confirmation tool to the submission site to this thread. This would prevent submission accidents like we already have two of this week. Alternatively, you could allow each user to delete their entry and re-submit once every competition as a way of correcting errors. Editing is naturally out of the question as the submissions are immediately up to the vote.
I am personally not for the added descriptions for finalists. If your card is good, it should stand on its own and speak for itself, if it needs an essay to explain how it should work or why it is design this way, you did something wrong. But ppl still liked it tho, since it reached finals, so just believe in it.
Similar to how I want us to change voting system so finalists cant vote (I dont want them to be soft-forced to 5-star themselves and 1-star everyone else or be basically penalized for not doing so), I dont want ppl to feel pressured to have to come up with card description, thinking of a flavor text or whatever. In the end, it can even hurt them, if they come up with a bad one, be it for their English skills or whatever else. Yes, it is everyone's choice to do it and you dont have to, but if it would be part of the finals, then it adds extra pressure as something that you now have to keep in mind and do, if you want to increase your chances, which I dont like.
Im going to sidetrack here a bit, but it is related: I always hated when we didnt have a uniform submission format for Class/Expansion Competitions on hpwn, cause when ppl who were more "forum savvy" formatted their posts better, that alone gave them a big advantage over others, since a lot of ppl wouldnt give a poorly formated post a time of day. That is an example of a non-requirement, that was a thing tho and when done right, increased your chances. I view having card descriptions as part of the finals in the same way.
Maybe im going a bit overboard here, but basically my thinking is, the card should stand for itself and shouldnt need anything else, nor should you be "forced" to do anything else but to make a card.
About deleting the submission, I dont think we will be changing this policy, not even for edits, hell especially not for edits. Id sooner prefer delete and resubmit than just edit. It wouldnt be fair to already get votes and then change something. But you did point this out. I do like the idea of previews, I think that should be feasible, eventually, once we have proper tools for it.

Ignore those people! You won because you made some great cards. You freaking deserve those wins.
As for the topic at hand, I think all deck-attacks are frustrating to deal with, so I totally agree with the premise. You use your stuff, I'll use my stuff, and we'll see which is better. Leave my stuff alone.
