Is Mindflayer Kaahrj essential?  I had him, didn't like it, then I dusted him.

I threw that in 7 cost rush beast that gives you an 8 drop. Lots of fun.

  • Into the Shadows: Stay Classy!

Hello everyone! It is everyone's favorite cannon boi here. Hope you are surviving in your homes, Today we are peeking at some neutral legendaries that have dedicated themselves to a class. Make sure to pass this thread along to make more people see this. Dress accordingly and leap into the shadows!

If you missed the last one,  we looked at some demonic allies for non-demonic classes. The link for the comp is here.

Wrathion, the Black Emperor By Sindragosa

Works like a minion-only, Chromaggus, but adds a 1/1 copy instead. [Hearthstone Card (Toggwaggle's Scheme) Not Found] a minion, then get a lot of 1/1s. Can work with both Quests, which is the comp this week as of writing. I like this, but it might just be my rogue talking.

Shu'ma, Maw of Ruin By Sylicas

This minion intrigues me. You play this and it sleeps for 2 turns. You have to keep the enemy minions alive in order for this to work. But when it wakes up and the effect triggers, it still can't attack. That can make this a target to kill. I question its effectiveness, but flavor is here.

    Archlich Kel'Thuzad By R

Freeze Priest anyone? While I am really confused about the Battlecry, the Hero Power catches my eye. Which I return with a hateful gaze.  Stall and more stall. This would make Convincing Infiltrator pop up with 3 health. Much more manageable than six. Plus, you get to pick it! That every single turn. Let us hope this it not made in the future for I will rage quit.

    Hogger, King Gnoll By grayghost39

This + Into the Fray or Armagedillo = value. Math so easy, my sister could do this in her sleep. Taunt Warrior can make a swift comeback. Load the board and then you have a gnoll wall. I like it.

    Millhouse, Infinity Storm By IlBelTia

I reached 10 mana though. Why do I have to wait 5 more! Assuming you survive that long in the late game, this can be potentially good. You can pump out spells like a mad man and Yogg to the moon. Holding Evocation that long can give you a lot more value. Spell Mage shall enjoy.

  • Off-Meta Hearthstone Decks Highlighting Some Underused Ashes Of Outland Legendaries

I love off-meta decks, I made a shaman galakron spell deck that went really well against DH, Midrange decks and token decks. I never uploaded any deck here but I will when I have the chance.

  • Yet another first time F2P legend

Also just made legend on EU with Disco Lock list above - definitely doable in the right meta with the right RNG.

  • Overwhelm does damage to nexus even if the opponent has a barrier..

Since its been ressurected, i have a legit question:

What happens when an Overwhelm unit with lifesteal attacks another with barrier?
Does it Heal for the excess damage, full attack or not at all?

  • How to handle burn decks?

    Quote From AlienFromEarth

I'm not a good player by any means (Gold at the moment) but I feel like the main issue why Burn is a problem (and even why there are minimal viable Control and Combo decks) is direct Nexus damage and by extension - the low Nexus health.

The problem is that every single card is too efficient, as it can deal at least 2 points of direct damage.

The only way to counter direct damage is through heal.
But aggro pays 2 mana to deal 2 points of nexus damage (1:1 ratio) or more, and those units stay on the field for potencial damage snowball.
On top of that some 1 mana units are very hard to remove on T1 and can easily deal 4+ damage.

With a few exceptions, Heal has a 1:1~1:2 ratio, wich is inefficient as other card games have at least 1:2~1:4 ratio.
Unlike aggro, heal cards do not snowball (heal everyturn) outside of lifesteal followers.
Finally, not every card in your deck will heal and not every faction has acess to early heal options anyway, so it becomes impossible to catch up with their damage.

Rest assured this deck will be nerfed in the next patch.

The only Bilgewater plunder deck that works is the TF/GP one... and it isn''t that good.

  • Twitch Rivals Legends of Runeterra Showdown

If LoR can maintain strong viewership numbers like HS does, you'll see more of them stick to the game. At the end of the day, this is their livelihood - they're not going to play games that get no or low viewership. Perhaps it's a bit of a chicken and egg problem, but that's on Riot to fix with more events like this, etc., to build interest in the game.

  • WCDC idea: "Description from the creator" should be visible during the Final Voting stage

I believe it should only be reserved for cards that really need it. Something like Zephrys the Great, for instance.

This would require some extra work from mods, however.

  • The Klepto cards are super frustrating

Branching Paths is a poor example as it is the best self-heal card in the game, and comes in the best form of armor gain so it can overheal. The bundle makes it even more powerfull as its possible to convert into card advantage or board pressure when heal isn't needed.
Branching is not situational and never a dead card like Pilfered can be sometimes.
Also, picking alternating effects was somewhat unusual, players very often chose the same effect twice.

Back to my example, you seem to not realize that 90% of cards stolen from burn decks won't help change the outcome of the match. They are just as useless as all the cards you listed. The difference would not reach even 1% WR. From a statistical perspective, generating a random card won't help either the huge majority of the time... BUT, when you do get something relevant, it may turn the tides of the battle.

  • Just (Monika) Ionia

At this point I'm something of a broken record on this point here on OutOf.Cards, but there is a real balance issue with Shadow Isles and Ionia. Through the beta and into release, they have proven to be the two most powerful regions because they have so many good tools for managing the board. Neither region is unbeatable, but both show up far more in top tier decks than seems healthy for a metagame.

Recurring Villain.  You think you've killed him, but then he comes back, see--like a cartoon villain!

So yeah, wasted many hours building decks around that silly card.  There was a slightly viable priest variant back when Arms only cost 2 mana, but pushing it back to 3 pretty much killed it.

He goes infinite in quest rogue. Try that on

Congrats again :) I hope I´ll get there one day too, but I´m affraid I don´t have enough dedication, I get tilted all the time :P

    Thanks :) :)

I used to think that too - but at least now it's worth doing once if only for the free legendary.

But really, as long as you are enjoying the game, it doesn't really matter if you are Bronze 10.

  • Just (Monika) Ionia

oh i think i found a fix, i stopped playing ranked and I ended my 6 game Ionia streak. Guess Ionia is best for try-harding and ladder climbing

  • Just (Monika) Ionia

Am i the only one noticing the amount of people playing some mix of Ionia (mostly Ionia/Demacia and sometimes Ionia/PiltZaun)? Feels like they only play the game on my turn unless they're playing zed and garen, but even then, they mostly just play big buffs on them when i try to block. Is there any way to counter this with a Bilgewater deck? or is this just a true counter, or do i just have to play only Deep monsters?  I just wish i could make my Bilgewater plunder allegiance deck work but they only decks I'm seeing are boring hard counter play decks :/

    Concerning the BIG DRUID:

I removed the two Ironbark and the Exotic Mountseller and inserted two Khartut Defender and one Healing Touch - reasonably good results at diamond even against aggro

Okay, I´ll make my confession too. My most favourite bad card was Malorne. I loved my meme Jungle Giants deck back then so much, I even crafted Malorne in gold... I know, I´m ashamed :D

  • How to handle burn decks?

I'm not a good player by any means (Gold at the moment) but I feel like the main issue why Burn is a problem (and even why there are minimal viable Control and Combo decks) is direct Nexus damage and by extension - the low Nexus health.

Even the most popular Control and Combo decks depend on direct Nexus damage (Corina/Ledros/Atrocity for the first one, Ezreal for the latter) as win conditions.

Things that do uncounterable, direct Nexus damage feel awful to play against for lack of counterplay - a reason why I used to love this game so much. There's such a wide variety of champions and interesting deck archetypes, but in the end it now comes down to uncounterable damage (also why people hate elusives). The number of times against these burn decks where somehow I've managed to take control of the board and then lost to a top-decked Mystic Shot, or Get Excited, or Decimate... it just feels frustrating and terrible to play against and lose against something that barely needs any skill to play.

Also some of these suggestions imply having to play SPECIFIC cards just to counter ENTIRE archetypes - thus making a huge amount of deck types unviable. That's not the best design philosophy if that was indeed the philosophy.

I think the whole problem is also exacerbated by how in LoR you can buy specific cards (which is a great thing for the most part) - but it allows everyone and their grandmoms to run the same cheap meta deck on ladder (I've been facing this same shit since the climb back from Bronze when the season reset). At least in Hearthstone you wouldn't really get the same meta decks until you're much higher up in the ladder - since newer players typically wouldn't have the cards for them.

Anyways, unhelpful rant aside - I'm going to take a break from this game until this Burn phase goes away.

From a lore standpoint, it has always bugged the shit out of me that Paladin's have so many Murlocs in Hearthstone. It just makes no sense.

    Totally agree. it's for shamans.

Enhance-o Mechano - my old time favorite. I loved the feeling of getting tons of Divine Shields.
