Every deck I play in ladder just meets the counter, change to counter the counter and woe and bettied no more of those decks and ones that counter my new deck instead.
Matchmaking isn't rigged though. Everything is fine.
Seriously, even on the last day of the month. Can't you just turn this "hidden" feature off for the last few days of the month
Daily's only for me until something actually gets nerfed properly. We used to complain that they nuked cards when nerfing but now look what we have, some cards have been "soft nerfed" up to 3 times and are still competitive. Fuck that shit, just nuke it and admit it was dumb to think it was fair at all.
I got to Gold 1 soon after the expansion, but then dropped all the way back to the Gold 5 rank floor as the meta decks got more refined. But tonight I gave it another shot and I made it to Platinum a few hours before the end of the month.
The shadow-assassin is Zed, and the guy wielding the big axe is Darius (who is not above villainous behavior himself). Zed comes from Ionia while Darius comes from Noxus, two regions of Runeterra (which function to partition the game, like Magic's colors or Hearthstone's classes). The battle at the end appears to be an Ionia + Shadow Isles deck versus a Noxus + Demacia one.
It's definitely hard to juggle multiple card games, but I would suggest giving it a shot anyway if you're up to it :D They're handing out freebies to get people started, and there's bonus XP for leveling up certain regions to get you going even faster.
Just had a last-minute winstreak from Diamond10 to Diamond5.
With Discolock. Granted, I was fairly lucky against some opponents with off-meta decks, but the decks feels like some Demonic power courses through it!
Huge Tempo plays, I might have found the heir to my Even Shaman.
Im not gonna say that Seju+Teemo cant be oppressive, but it sounds to me like you just want to play a Yasuo deck and this isnt your match up. Well, as Hellcopter already said, look for better ways to deal with early Teemo. Noxus actually has some good Stun synergy as well, so there ya go.
But seriously. Fuck Quest Mage and the incompetent """balancers"""" of Blizzard. The nerf has done absolutely NOTHING.
ZERO counterplay. Their Quest is completed on Turn 6. Same turn, he summons my Voidlord and kills it. At 6 mana, they out-manacheat THE 9 mana card. And next turn: they had lethal. With 7 mana. From 23 HP to 0.
The extra turn was the worst card printed in the history of Hearthstone. This deck is right there with Naga Sea Witch Giants and Snip-Snaps.
Farron is easy enough to fit in any deck as a stand alone win condition. Replacing the hand with Decimate is a very powerfull effect indeed. It will put pressure on the opponent to win the game in the next few turns or be overwhelmed with direct damage. This "preassure" is also know as Win condition / Boss card / Finisher.
Farron is strong but isn't overpower at all. First, Decimate costs 5 mana. While it puts preassure, it will take multiple turns to play all Decimates. Second, the hand will be filled but nothing then Decimates. That means the player is now commited and won't be able to react to anything on the board. Third, Decimate has SLOW spell speed. In tight situations, when both players nexus are low, the speed matters a lot. And those spots happens very often.
Conclusion: Captain FarronBADCARDNAME is just an introduction to finishers. Easy to play, doesn't require other cards to work and can fit in almost any deck. The downside being the slowest one to close games when compared with all other finishers.
Edit: The video above posted by OldManSanns illustrates everything stated in my post. Worth a watch.
if i cast whirling death or any other strike spell does that count as non-combat damage? what is non-combat damage really ? dont have swain to test so if anyone can experience it for me i will be glad.
20 health on Nexus isn't enough to stop an onslaught despite good spell-play where your spells cost 3 or more and they get constant units battering you. When they change their hand into decimate cards you could lose just by decimate ALONE...
Sweet child, if you are losing to decks running Captain Farron that I fear your play is not as good as you suspect it is--there is sort of a running joke about how bad he is. But to your point: yes, most LoR games will be decided before Round 10--especially if neither side is running healing. I personally would consider Rounds 6-9 to be "midrange", not "early", but that's semantics. As others have pointed out, there are probably deck improvements that would either help you apply more early pressure or better control aggro opponents--perhaps you'd like to share your current deck?
It's a huge information dump when your opponent sees the game instantly skip your turn, they immediately know nothing currently in your hand can stop another attack, and in this case, you yourself are not given enough time to realize why you couldn't block and learn from that.
But that's my opinion :/ I'm constantly spamming the spacebar so I'm not taking too much time, but I can see why people wouldn't like anyone having autoskip off if it increases game time.
But otherwise, there's not enough information here to know why the game skipped you, but if auto-skip IS already off then it's definitely a bug.
I'm very glad to find someone who is curious about how I build a deck. Netizens don't seem to be interested in deck-building. Some do, but they just modify an archetype that already exists. Original creators like me are the rarest among the rarest. It is sad to see only two pages here after your post a year and a month ago.
Yes, I enjoy building decks in Hearthstone, even more than actually play them.
What sort of things lead you to construct the decks that you do?
New experiences. I love to explore new experiences from decks of different style. This is my goal. I won't build a deck that cannot bring me new, unique gameplay. I'm also interested in reproducing popular decks from the past that were nerfed and then seen little play. Old ideas getting picked up again, I combine them with new cards. Then old strategy reappears, but with chemical reaction with new sets and meta.
What are some common strategies and combinations that you really enjoy playing and iterating on?
In the past, which mechanics or interactions really caught your attention and made you want to try them yourself?
Baku and Genn decks. Hero Power is a permanent that we can make use of it from turn 2, but basic Hero Power generates low value. Baku makes it stronger and Genn makes it cost cheaper. They both seduce us to use Hero Power frequently, which creates distinguished game experience. Buffed basic Hero Power is an aura that changes our play significantly, like anomaly does in Adventure Mode.
Recently I've been playing Even Warrior and Even Druid. I had an idea to construct Even Warrior at first. Aggro decks(Odd DH, Secret Mage and Aggro Hunter) are popular in the current wild meta, so my intention is to make an anti-aggro deck that is dominant against aggros(but I intend it sucks against heavy control decks). Armoring up at a high frequency makes a good defender. My dream deck is like the "warriors" in MOBA games: melee class with both decent attack and defence, good at dealing with the "assassins"(aggro decks in HS). The winrate is ugly however, I lost to one Odd DH and two Secret Mages and only made it to Silver 10. So I abandoned it and made an Even Druid. Although Druid Hero Power gives less armor than Warrior's, Druid has Branching Paths and Oaken Summons. They grant heavy armor. I beat an Odd DH successfully and I won a bunch of games at Silver. I hope it'll go higher on ladder.
Do you prefer building new lists from the ground up, or iterating on existing archetypes?
100% from the ground up. I feel greater sense of achievement by building original decks.
I'm a CN player and I play CN server. Everyday I read posts from two CN Hearthstone forums, NGA(bbs.nga.cn) and iyingdi(iyingdi.com/web). Whenever new cards are released, unless they include new mechanism by themselves on their card text, literally no one cares about how they can build a brand-new deck with these cards. Lonely me cares :(
Has the meta ever influenced you to try building something new to counter it?
Yes. Even Warrior and Druid I mentioned to counter Aggro decks. Winrate does influence my fun playing Hearthstone. If my decks have a very low WR(like 30% or less) and I fail to save them by any means in the meta, I probably will give them up(and I already did for some times). For example, I made a Rouge deck featuring Troublemaker early this month before AoO was launched. I put lots of cards that return my minions to hand in my deck, like Shadowstep. This deck really has its highlight moments. I once stole my opponent's Galakrond, the Nightmare. But this deck rarely won. When my opponent focus on my face, I get absolutely zero fun.
When you get an idea, does it typically involve a particular strategy, or do you focus on a card you like to build around?
I have a variety of reasons to construct decks. Here are some of the decks I make in different meta: Token Paly with Justicar Trueheart to create a sustaining board offence and outnumber my opponent(ONK), C'Thun Shaman with Corrupt the Waters + Fencing Coach + C'Thun for an OTK synergy(SoU), Beast Druid with Invalid Deck ID for the meme!(late Rastakhan)
Do you make use of tech cards often, or just play a particular list as is?
No, I don't usually put tech cards in my deck and I don't quite like them. Tech cards are compromise with strong decks in the meta. They adds incoherency to what I want to play. I like cards that both fit my deck strategy and favour certain matches, for example, Renew in Control Priest is a control-style healing card and it is also good against popular aggressive DH decks on ladder.
I hear you. I faced one that had gone through most of their deck, it was close. I set up a couple of taunts to buy me a turn, but I'd forgotten about the legendary that invalidates taunts. So I lost.
Fun and interactive. Truly, I don't know what they were smoking when they gave Demon Hunter's kit the okay. This is not balanced, and that's after a couple of rounds of nerfs!
It seems more likely that you’re not playing a deck that can deal with early aggression. Once you get more cards you’ll be able to build a deck on par with older players.
*Opponent* Draws perfect opening hand, plays optimum cards for first 5 turns, draws like a fucking god, gets perfect RnG.
*Me* Draws nothing below 6 mana for opening hand, can barely play anything for first 5 turns, draws like I shat in Mike Donais cereal, gets worst RnG possible.
Seriously WTF did I do to whom to deserve this crap on a daily fucking basis.
DID YOU, in fact, shit in Mike Donais' cereal? If so, it was probably that.
But I feel this - I have been at Platinum 6 for 3 days because each time I get one win away from hitting that rank floor on Plat 5 I have the exact game you describe. I'm SO CLOSE and I hate it.
I've had Nethrandamus a few times now and it's been an absolute game winner. Crazy good card, especially if you can get to 10, which isn't terrible difficult.
Do you keep it on mulligan?
Yes, if I have a decent start around it, which isn't difficult with the class's cheap, early game studs. Even drawn later in the game it's not hard to have a few minions die and get that counter going.

Complains about aggro. Aggro style isnt the strongest type in LoR.
Aggro is dominant in HS. Ironic

This is an awesome work of Art!!! Kudos to them! (who's the badass villain btw?)
I'm still very doubtful to try the game though... Already playing both MTGA/HS and still enjoying those.

Very interested to hear how one can play a deck over 40 cards from the start.
Noxus has the best anti-Teemo cards including:
Blade's Edge, Death Lotus, Culling Strike, Whirling Death, Death's Hand just to name a few.

Just run a control deck, stuff like Heimerdinger and Thresh/Anivia are great at stopping early aggression.

Aggro actually isn’t that good in this game. If you’re getting rushed down too much, you could play a frostbite or stun deck to negate early damage.
