  • How to fix Quest Mage:

Nerfing a standard card because of a deck in wild? You do know we're dealing with Blizzard here, right?

Is quest mage still a problem even? It's even weaker against aggro now and keeps reno priest in check.

  • Nerf nautilus deep sh it

I've played a fair amount of Nautilus/Maokai, and it definitely is strong, but it's got vulnerabilities. Until the late game, the deck is mostly small to midsize minions and toss cards, so there's lots of room for aggro to get in and wreck it before it gets online. And even in the late game, a couple of big AOEs like The Ruination can be pretty crippling since the deck doesn't have a ton of draw power. And because it depends on a few big minions, chump blocking and hard removal can buy you a decent chunk of time.

I don't think the "0 strategy to play" accusation is entirely fair, by the way. It's certainly a deck with a very clear game plan that it wants to execute on in a linear fashion. That can make for less exciting matches (because the deck plays the same most of the time), but that doesn't mean it's trivial to pilot. The deck typically features a lot of big Sea Monsters (so that Nautilus will bring back a bunch of stuff when you play him). But the result of running so many understated/expensive cards is that through the midgame, you're playing only one or two cards a turn, and you're often playing a bit behind on tempo. And even after you've hit Deep, your minions aren't all that cheap, so you're still playing one or two cards a turn. Often you're stuck making the decision to spend your mana on a minion or spend your mana going deeper into your deck.

A lot of the times that I've won from behind with those decks, I've done so by baiting out blocks and then using burst toss cards like Jettison and Salvage to turn the game around. Because of how slow the deck can play in the midgame, you have to be pretty judicious about your blocks up until that turn so that you can have enough Sea Monsters in play to benefit from hitting Deep. While I do think I've won a lot more games than I've lost with the deck, many of those wins have been narrow wins because of how much damage you have to be willing to take to make sure your board survives.

  • First time legend here too! (yeay!)

Thank you all, your kind words mean a lot!

And congratulations to the other legends too!

  • How to fix Quest Mage:

    balanced

Now it is a fair card - and not a "2 mana: generate 5-7 mana this turn" nonsense we have today.

  • Would you pay to have an emote that says 'Boring'

There's no way I'd pay for anything emote-related.

Also, your opponent couldn't care less about you getting bored: nobody plays for the enjoyment of their opponents.

Actually, if that was your reaction upon defeat, i'm sure your opponent would enjoy your salt.

  • Why should I play anything that it isn't a yasuo deck?

    Staff

I've definitely been on the receiving end of a near-perfect Yasuo curves from my opponent, and you can feel quite helpless at those matches. But as people above are saying, if they don't draw Yasuo/some other key minions like Fae Bladetwirler early enough or they get easily removed, the deck's gameplan just unfolds. Don't feel too discouraged if they get lucky, it happens.

  • About "dawn and dusk"

I'm pretty sure it's supposed to include buffs/debuffs, so this may be a bug. I feel like it used to work as you described - maybe this was introduced with the latest patch?

  • About "dawn and dusk"

    Staff

They should be exact copies as far as I know so it's at least a graphic bug if nothing else.

  • Why should I play anything that it isn't a yasuo deck?

I feel like you're missing some periods and commas there. Had to read it thrice to sort of understand what you're trying to say.

Yasuo has never been great. If you don't draw him or he gets removed you're literally doing nothing but temporarily removing/disabling units while you wait for your inevitable death.

  • Would you pay to have an emote that says 'Boring'

I agree with TartaMagica saying boring doesn't do anything.  I would forever enjoy the option to give someone the finger or say FU if they're playing a deck that's no fun to play against.  I'm taking to you Res Priest!

  • About "dawn and dusk"

I thought that "exact copies" means with the same stats, but it looks like it doesn't consider buffs/debuffs.

Is it a graphic bug? My opponent didn't even attack with these 3/3, so maybe they had 0 attack?
Or is it working as intended and it's correct that they are 3/3?

  • Sometimes I can't block it just skips it with no indication why.

    Quote From TriMay

    My suggestion: Turn off auto-skip

It's a huge information dump when your opponent sees the game instantly skip your turn, they immediately know nothing currently in your hand can stop another attack, and in this case, you yourself are not given enough time to realize why you couldn't block and learn from that.

But that's my opinion :/ I'm constantly spamming the spacebar so I'm not taking too much time, but I can see why people wouldn't like anyone having autoskip off if it increases game time.

But otherwise, there's not enough information here to know why the game skipped you, but if auto-skip IS already off then it's definitely a bug.

Actually having Auto-Skip can be a great deceiving tool too. If you have a burst/fast spell but click the pass button fast enough, to your opponent it will look like you don't have anything to play in response to his stuff.

  • Would you pay to have an emote that says 'Boring'

You are playing a tier 3/4 deck against an high tier 2 one. It's normal to lose that matchup. Plus saying "Boring" at the end of the match would not make your opponent change deck or make you win the next time you encounter a secret mage

  • Why should I play anything that it isn't a yasuo deck?

If you want to play it then go a head. I haven't lost to a Yasou deck yet while playing Natilus deep deck and Draven/Jinx aggro.

  • Hearthstone Grandmasters 2020 Season 1 Continues With Week 3

    Staff

For those who are curious how things look for the Grandmasters after the Swiss portion regarding the Division split:

    Asia-Pacific
    • Already guaranteed a spot in Division A: Surrender, glory, kin0531, Ryvius, posesi, Flurry.
    • Already guaranteed to be left out: Staz, Tom60229, Tyler, Shaxy, SamuelTsao.
    • FroStee and blitzchung need a place in the final to have any chance.
    • DawN needs at least a semifinal spot.
    • If the two above don't happen, che0nsu takes the spot.
    • Alutemu can guarantee a place by advancing to semifinals, but he will also take a place unless either FroStee or blitzchung win and DawN is the runner-up.

    Europe
    • Already guaranteed a spot in Division A: Swidz, Jarla, SilverName, BoarControl, Bunnyhoppor, Hunterace.
    • Already guaranteed to be left out: Thijs, Casie, Kolento, Rdu.
    • Felkeine's situation is complex, he's going to be close to making it until the very end.
    • Pavel needs to win, and Viper, Bozzzton, and Seiko need to get eliminated before Sunday.
    • Zhym needs the above but with Pavel not winning.
    • Viper, Bozzzton and Seiko need to advance from group phase.
      • If only one does, he gets a spot.
      • If two or three them do, it's tiebreaker time with Felkeine.
      • Reaching the final means a guaranteed spot for any of the trio without tiebreaker nonsense.

    Americas
    • Already guaranteed a spot in Division A: Gallon, bloodyface, Eddie, languagehacker, justsaiyan.
    • Already guaranteed to be left out: Zalae, Firebat, ETC, PapaJason.
    • Purple needs a place in the final, possibly even to win.
    • Muzzy, Monsanto and Nalguidan need to advance from their groups, and even that might not be enough (tiebreaker stuff).
      • Reaching the final would guarantee a spot.
    • Empanizado, Fr0zen and PNC must hope that the aforementioned quartet can't do what they need to.
      • Empanizado might already be guaranteed a spot thanks to his Week 1 victory (and therefore superior tiebreaker) but I'm too lazy to think through all the possible iterations. At least he's very close.
      • PNC advancing from his group would guarantee a spot.

I hope I mentioned every player there. Also, since the maths behind this has been made by me, there's a solid chance for horrible mistakes. The guaranteed "not-making-it"s should be correct, and I'm also confident of the guaranteed "made-it"s.

  • Season Rewards

I love the fact that the non-dupe rule seems to extend to individual card rewards, and that those cards aren't limited to the classic set, as I'd previously assumed. Those rare card rewards plugged quite a few of the gaps in my year of the dragon sets :)

  • Season Rewards

    Quote From HsNurrish

Yeah if you add up all of it its 12 packs...

I'm afraid they don't 'add up', ie you dont get all the diamond 10 rewards and all the diamond 5 rewards, etc. The most you get is 5 AoO packs, 1 epic and a bunch of rares for hitting legend.

  • Why should I play anything that it isn't a yasuo deck?

I mean that deck has to many things that can be or apply elusive, stuns, recall, more easily than any other deck and for every stun that it applies yasuo deals damage to that card sure you can try to kill him but if the user recalls yasuo than is all for naugh or if he doesn't just blocks the spell not to mention that spell that eliminate units are more expensive to use so early use of the cards 7-up are a none unless you get lucky and accumulate the necessary mana.

  • Season Rewards

same here...got the same two 3 times each

  • Sometimes I can't block it just skips it with no indication why.

Swain has fearsome, so he can only be blocked by enemies with three or more power. If you only had a 2/2 and 2/3 to block with then you have a answer.

  • Budget Hearthstone Decks to Round Out Your Ladder Climb

Hey, no problem. You got your own happiness, there. May your firstborn live bright.

  • Season Rewards

I had double rare cards as reward, but since I already had all the blue cards, it didn't matter, but it looked a bit odd, getting the same cards over and over again.

The the three horsemen of the apocalypse : Tempo Demon Hunter , Res Priest and  Secret Galakrond Rogue . If they decided to just delete those 3 deck archetypes nobody except the spastics that play them would be sad. Can't say I feel sorry to hear that you got your ass ran over by Demon Hunter when the whole shtick of your deck is to be as cancerous as possible .

Meh, I just play it because I have fun pushing the button.

I'd rather pay for an auto-squelch check box in the game's Options menu.

With Hearthstone Deck tracker you can do that already!

Just install the "Autosquelch" Plugin and you will never get tilted again :)
