Ok. I played alot of games today. I only play one class (shaman), because I had alot of fun with it the last 2-3 years. Shaman had its time I know. And yes, Galakrond Shaman was broken as hell, but what I saw today from Demon Hunter is, that you can get him very good under control. But this class doesn't care in the end. 5 Mana refill AND in the same turn he plays a bunch of cheap minions. You have a board? Meet my Priestess of Fury. Aaah dude, you got Taunts? Here Kayn Sunfury AAAND FACE. Dude why you don't heal? Oh right my HP does 5 damage for 1 Mana and i got my 8 DMG into your face spell in the hand.
I don't know how other classes work against Demon Hunter, but as a shaman you have like 0 chances to win this. I won a game against Demon Hunter. He didn't play Skull of Gul'dan, Metamorphosis or Priestess of Fury. Yeah pls nerf these 3 cards. Or just 2 of them. I will play wild till DH got nerfed into the ground.
Hearthstone not being prepared includes bugs. I tried Odd Demon Hunter in wild and when the last game started, Baku didn't upgrade my hero power. The two games before that it worked fine. Didn't change anything in between, checked for even cards afterward. No idea what happened.
So I noticed something weird the first game I played Odd DH. If you start the game with an Eye Beam with Outcast active in your hand, Baku doesn't trigger.
Was that the case for you?
Yes, that's it! Thanks a lot, now I can play around it. I hope they'll fix this soon.
Thanks for the feedback! I slept over it and reconsidered the drawback of my card. As you pointed out, it is too similar to Darkshire Librarian and Discard feels wrong in hunter. So here's my second try (self damage) with the version (discard) for comparison.
What do you think? Is self damage better than discard? Is 5 damage too much?
They were probably afraid playing DH would be underwhelming. Now we either have to find some hard counter, or they can start nerfing after 2 days.
The new ladder system rewards playing DH because you don't even have to win 50% to climb anyway. I mean, with the old system it would be pointless to play DH when everyone else does the same, now not so much.
I'll put my 2 cents in. Yes, it's clearly too early to tell what needs a nerf, but I think most of us are here just to comment on what we've seen so far. What I've seen is that Priestess of Fury and Imprisoned Antaen are an entirely nasty combination. Their ability to both clear boards AND deal face damage, combined with their stats and cost (Priestess is reasonable, Antaen is absurdly cheap) make them extremely hard to manage. During card reveal season, I wondered if the tempo loss of dormant cards would make them unplayable. In the case of the Antaen, definitely not. The tempo you bank by "doing nothing" on turn 5 usually just wins you the game on turn 7 or 8.
Hearthstone not being prepared includes bugs. I tried Odd Demon Hunter in wild and when the last game started, Baku didn't upgrade my hero power. The two games before that it worked fine. Didn't change anything in between, checked for even cards afterward. No idea what happened.

First non DH decks is in the middle of the second page.
This is insane. I kept all cards I opened to get full dust value for them after the much needed nerfs.
EDIT: Also, for those who says that the high winrate is because everyone is playing DH: if a DH meets DH, one wins and one loses, so winrate in the same class is always 50%.
Doomhammer from zephrys is super situational, the boys Forevat, Zalae and Gallon yesterfay tried to pull off doomhammer on 5 mana left with opponents ooze and 1/1 on board. They were offered tirion instead.
This is way worse than Galakrond Shaman was. Also, bonus points for ruining Arena, where basically every DH class card is either good or broken. I am sticking to Wild and BG untill DH gets nuked with nerfs.
And everyone who says "this first day blah blah blah", "meta will adapt blah blah blah", "got to salt thread blah blah blah" will either play DH or apologize for being mistkaen soon enough. I heard it all last time when Gala Shaman arrived with full power. Good luck with having fun, just like then.
Maybe we will see some "answers" to The Ruination in the new set of 120+ cards later this month...or see a "the ruination 2.0" card to talk about ^_^.
Just some wild ideas of cards:
-Reveal enemy X or Y card or whole hand.
-Trade cards from hand.
-Discard enemy X or Y card or whole hand. (similar to She Who Wanders)
-Make enemy draw more then what he can use (too many high cost cards) and "burning" the 10+ excess (accelerating his out of card loss condition, and let's throw some mushrooms in the mix for free burn damage...)
Having played only a little, I'm already getting fed up with Demon Hunter. You just can't experiment even a little bit because even a good deck gets demolished before turn 10. You must play Demon Hunter. Instead of 10 classes, we have 1.
This.
Trying Dog's Control Shaman... We'll see how it goes.
Overwhelm goes through phantom blockers, meaning that if a unit that blocked and Overwhelm unit dies the full damage from the Overwhelm unit goes through
Hi, there is something "wrong" with how blocking enemy units works in this game.
sometimes everything works normal, sometimes i can't find a reasonable explanation...or maybe I'm just missing some "basic" information.
-i block an enemy unit, the player use Whirling Death on my blocking unit, killing it and letting his unit hit face (even when i already "confirmed" the blocking)...same scenario using different removal like Get Exited!BADCARDNAME my unit still blocks the enemy unit.
-the player is attacking with Anivia "2 damage to all" + another unit, i block the other unit with a 2hp unit, the player use Might on that unit, Anivia kills my blocking unit and his Might boosted unit hit face...again same scenario with different enemy interaction and i manage to block the units even if they die to Anivia's AOE.
I was a freebie for this expansion and only managed to gather 1300 gold since I started playing again. However, I got 3 legendaries in 13 packs which is a premiere for me. Got Lady Vashj, Reliquary of Souls and Zixor, Apex Predator. While not the ones I wanted, I kept all but Lady Vashj and crafted (using the dust from the rotation too) Lady Liadrin (and all the cards for Pure Libram Paladin), Evocation (and all the cards for Spell Mage), Kayn Sunfury and a couple other DH cards.
II've disenchanted the legendary pheonix (5 mana 7/3 elemental bird) and another golden one. However, I can't wait to disenchant 3200 dust of Golden Kayn Sunfury if the nerf demands it.
EDIT: Pre-ordered 90 packs, I got many legenaries now (9 legendaries from 1 big pre-order packs), I deserve this for having last 2 horrible pre-order packs, had way too low amount of legendaries.
I find it pretty silly to be upset about reaching legend "too easily." Why on Earth are you upset about it being easier and more relaxed? Some kind of elitist attitude? Or have you just been conditioned over years of playing to believe that only the very, very best, who grind for hours and hours, should be allowed to get to legend?
Under the old system, there were hundreds of thousands players (maybe millions) who stopped playing at rank 5 because the grind to legend was sooooooooooo absurd. They had the skill to do it; they just didn't want to invest the minimum of 10-hours needed to actually grind it out (assuming roughly 6 minutes per game and roughly 62% winrate). And of course, most people will not manage a 62% winrate from rank 5 to legend, so it will be (a lot) longer than 10 hours for most. I did it once, almost by accident, when a deck I was playing turned out to be way more successful than I expected it to be. Got to rank 2 with it, and decided to just keep going. But even that was a grind, and I had to switch decks, because the meta caught up with the deck that got me to rank 2.
I would NEVER, EVER have done legend again, EVER, under the old system, same as the vast majority of the playerbase, because the grind was beyond absurd. I welcome a system that is less absurdly grindy. I might even try to hit legend again.
Please quote the part in my previous post, where I critisized the ladder for being relaxed. I've specifically stated that this was an "undeniable positive of the ladder's recent overhaul", which I enjoyed.
Anyway, your reaction to my post is more than understandable. Maybe I'm really an elitist jerk and I'm just too stubborn to deny it. I won't deny the fact, that the old rank5-Legend grind was horrendously time-wasting (I even agreed with another user about it in the previous page) with no true rewards other than getting a shiny digital brown gem and for those reasons I was never interested in participating in it unless I played a deck I enjoyed or the meta had a lot of variety in it. I remember the time before the first ever change to the ranking system (i.e. before the implementation of the so-called milestones). That was a true nightmare, people were discouraged from playing something off-meta or unrefined and I am glad we never have to experience that thing ever again. A few years later the devs gave us the 4-ranks rollback, which also saved a lot of needless grind (people weren't placed at the very bottom anymore). If I had reached rank 5 or rank 4 in a certain season, I would have been placed either on rank 9 or 8 in the next one, so the grind for the golden epic was shorter, which I also enjoyed. And the win-streak bonuses also shortened the path to that threshold.
So it's not like I'm a masochist, who wants to have everything rough. But the thing I don't like in the new ranking system is, like I've stated multiple times before, the size of the multiplier. When a new season starts and I'm placed at the bottom, I get a huge multiplier than gives me a big chunk of stars per win. This is implemented, so that we can reach our previously reached milestone quicker and continue our journey from there, which sounds good on paper, but if you think about it our losses become meaningless. Those aren't the things anymore, that make us consider our actions or decklist and incentive us to improve ourselves/the list we are using. I've managed to hit rank 5 Diamond by using an unrefined, win-conditionless semi-casual deck and I didn't get punished for it, while I'm sure some people are still struggling in the Golden or Platinum leagues, yet alone in Diamond. I guess I could consider this the "4-rank rollback" we had in the previous system, but it feels so weird for playing something weak and get rewarded for it needlessly. It felt like the game was constantly holding my hand. And the system is still somewhat grindy, because at the start of each season we get placed at the bottom and have to repeat the whole process all over again. Before you say it - yes, my MMR matched me with opponents on my level, but it didn't matter, because the extra stars I got nullified the occasional losses.
So, yes, maybe I am an elitist jerk, but I truly believe that a ranking system should reward more dedicated players. I haven't played Starcraft 2 or Overwatch competitively, I also didn't play 2v2, 3v3 or 5v5 arenas in WoW, but I am sure that the ladder there is way more challenging. If a player wants good rewards or to be considered as part of the best, they have to put effort in achieving it. Competitive hs became too casual to my taste. But I guess that's only my opinion and I am part of the minority, who thinks like this. If the majority of players are happy with the state of the new ranking system, then, congratulations, the needed changes have finally arrived and you can all enjoy the ladder to the fullest.

Btw in another forum I've linked the following video. I don't consider myself a hardcore player, but I guess I still show some character traits of an "achiever":

Me too. 8 legendaries, two of them in golden. From 84 packs.

I had 90 packs from the preorder and 24 on top from gold.
Got golden Maiev Shadowsong from the bundle and then opened Lady Vashj, Reliquary of Souls, Metamorphosis, Kargath Bladefist, Evocation, golden Shadowjeweler Hanar and Magtheridon. So 7 out of 114 which is already great. I day 1 crafted Kayn Sunfury and Baku and am still considering both hunter legendarys.
