I apologize if I sounded rude, that was not my intent. I do think that my comment does contribute to the discussion by pointing that these HoF threads are always the same, implying that the chosen cards are not HoF worthy
As for more story lines I would love if they introduced new heros and villains instead of always using the same ones over and over. There is lots of lore to dig into and they could even invent their own characters again.
But it seems like it will probably be some time before we get another story arc. And thats totally fine by me! It was fun for a year.
Generally I agree with Meisterz' logic on this one, as noted above. However, I would say there's nothing wrong with giving Finales Funkeln Final Spark a different keyword so long as that design space is subsequently used - the main issue with it right now is honestly just that it's unique and using what feels like a borrowed keyword.
Well, I'm playing Gwent mostly for the sake of lore. It's quite interesting to see characters that you have encountered in the Witcher games itself and books.
It can totally go either way, but she's certainly a star of the deck with all the Barriers. The Vanguard Bannerman are really good, but I was actually surprised how many times they whiffed (for me). You would think you'd nearly always trigger the buff, considering there are only 6 Ionian cards in the entire deck. I would say a big advantage to this deck is the Relentless Pursuit. I've been able to bust through quite a few games that would have otherwise been losses due to that card alone.
Honestly: I actually like him if he intentionally is "whenever" instead of "only if before summoned". With the latter, he feels nonviable (how often do you play a 6+ spell before Round 5?), but with the former I could see playing him early and hoping for an opportunity to enable him later.
if they do new spells that work this way i can see them doing a new keyword to clarify better but with final spark as the only case i dont see a point, besides HS is so inconsistent with keywords that i think your point about the other card games is only half right if it was so important HS team would make it right for the get go, i think you are being a little hard on riot on this it is a beta and a keyword just for one spell would feel superfolus IMO.
I don't think they need to do a new keyword - in fact it would be pretty over-the-top to make a keyword for one card. What I think they need to do is change the text of Final Spark so that it doesn't use a keyword. Keywords are for common interactions, and this is very plainly a one-off interaction. To BlueSpark's point, if it just explicitly mentioned that the Nexus is an automatic secondary target for the spell, it wouldn't need Overwhelm and the lack of fizzle would be entirely consistent with other spells (e.g. "Deal 4 damage to a unit. If that unit dies, deal excess damage to the enemy Nexus").
I certainly don't mean to be overly harsh to Riot, and it's true that this is in beta. However, Legends of Runeterra has been in development for years and years (see https://www.pcgamesn.com/legends-of-runeterra/nine-year-development), and this kind of consistency is really important for helping new and experienced players learn the game. There's a reason that modern MTG cards are so well-templated - their years and years of experience have made them very good at it. Riot should be able to take some of the learnings from these other games and their inconsistency snafus and apply them to LoR.
With respect to your criticism of Hearthstone, I actually think their keyword consistency is very good lately, and they've made major strides in retroactively fixing inconsistencies in old cards (e.g. Druid of the Claw's former lack of a transform keyword). I did mention above some of the problems they faced with inconsistent "whenever" vs "after" triggers, but they've laid out clear rules for how those should work, and tried very hard to fix any inconsistencies there. Moreover, there are clear expectations for what they should do, so players can easily know whether a card's behavior is intended or a bug.
Ultimately I don't mean to sound angry about any of this. I don't expect Riot's work to be perfect - there are examples across all CCGs of inconsistencies that make the game harder for players. But the framework/point of view I set forth is what I think they should be trying to do/striving for, and Final Spark is a clear example of where they can improve on this.
It has 3 Fiora, 6 burst-speed barrier spells, 7 barrier-giving units, and 3 Single Combats. It may not be as "all-in" as the original Fiora decks you're referencing, but that's more than enough to threaten an insta-win.

Except this list seem to be more about buffing your minions and have more ressiliance to losing fiora or not drawing her, the deck seem to feature vanguard banner.
I thought at first it was weird the deck didn't run shadow assassin which is draw on a combo deck..
This deck is less about fiora than the original alpha deck and has her as a secondary win condition rather than a primary one, this deck seem to win more via tempo rather than fiora, that's my read about the list, cause of the bannermans instead of key Ionia cards to ensure fiora's survavility and availability (card draw).
I like this card, but I think that you could get away with changing the damage to just the card's cost instead of double. Looking at Molten Reflection a 4-mana straight clone is fair.
True but molten is just a friendly on board clone while this allows for battlecries of all minions. I figured it should be higher total cost
Quote From meisterz39To your second point, don't think it's really possible to just let Runeterra be Runeterra. It exists in a highly saturated CCG marketplace, with lots of people coming to it after years of playing games like Hearthstone and MTG. These kinds of preconceived understandings and comparisons exist for a reason, and I think Riot knows they're operating within them. In fact, I think they said they were highly inspired by those games, and so these comparisons are in many ways built in.
But that raises the question of keywords that are already inconsistent across different games. Is there a consensus about which is the "master" game, whose template other games are expected to follow? You might be tempted to say that should obviously be Magic, but there are plenty of players who have never played that, particularly in the PC and mobile markets.
I think, perhaps, I've done a bad job of explaining my point of view. Here it is at a high level:
Templating and keywords are extremely import to making a CCG comprehensible - both should be entirely consistent in the way they're applied within a game. No template or keyword should be used only to approximately match the intended behavior - instead, different templating and/or keywords should be used to make sure there's no ambiguity about what a template or keyword means.
People are natural pattern matchers, and will try to find ways to conform new information to preconceived notions about similar information. In this case, that means looking for similar templating and keywords to previous CCGs. This is entirely unavoidable when you're creating a new product in an existing marketplace.
Riot doesn't need to treat any game as the "master CCG," but when it draws inspiration from MTG, Hearthstone, or any other game, the designers should be aware of how players who know those games will react to the templating/keywords that ultimately describe those inspirations.
With a marketplace as heavily saturated as the CCG marketplace today, leveraging similar templates and keywords to the most commonly played games in the marketplace (MTG and Hearthstone) makes it easier for folks looking for a new CCG to start playing LoR
I like this card, but I think that you could get away with changing the damage to just the card's cost instead of double. Looking at Molten Reflection a 4-mana straight clone is fair.
This version of Gauntlet is already making an appearance again, starting on March 6th.
Back from its December debut, the Hexagauntlet is here to test your skills! With up to six copies of a card allowed, what strategies will make the cut?
Hexagauntlet: March 6 – March 9 In this event, players can include up to six copies of a chosen card in their deck. (Unique Legendaries are still only allowed one copy per deck.)
Furthermore, the minimum deck sizes will be like our Micro Gauntlet event, specifically 30 cards for one- or two-attribute decks, and 45 cards for three-attribute decks. Don’t have six copies of your favorite cards lying around? For this event, the full collection will be unlocked for all players, so brew to your heart’s content!
The Hexagauntlet begins Friday, March 6 at 12pm ET and closes at 12pm ET on Monday, March 9. Events in The Elder Scrolls: Legends change regularly, so check in often to see what new challenges await!
Ok, I've adjusted the mana took the wording advice the art still sucks but oh well. I set it at 4 since seance costs 2 and Zola costs 3 but this gives a free copy that is compensated with the blood price
I think hall of fame prediction threads should be banned, or at least have their own category in the forum so we don't have to see them. They alwasy offer up the same cards, with the same sub-par reasoning.
If you don't like them, then don't click the link, and don't add your completely useless 2-cents to the conversation. The thread was meant to start a discussion and theorize what changes might be coming. If you don't like someone's "sub-par reasoning" then add something to the discussion instead of trying to derail the discussion by being insulting.
Just because you don't like something, doesn't mean it needs to be banned. You have the option to not read it.
You cant reroll legendary quests, i mean you can reroll, but they dont work in a same fashion as when double gold or dust event is up for example, sou you cant reroll your regular quests into them, nor can you reroll to duplicate. Just do the ones you have ;-)
With that in mind, I can only really see Divine Spirit, Malygos and [Hearthstone Card (Leeroy) Not Found] being considered. Divine Spirit because of it limiting design space and being an unfun card to play against, Malygos for limiting design, and [Hearthstone Card (Leeroy) Not Found] for being in every aggressive deck.
Of these, I think only Divine Spirit is worthy of being pulled from Classic, as it would allow new options for Priest, which are desperately needed.
Remove Leeroy and decks would just use Reckless Rocketeer, and be only slightly worse.
I think they've learned to build round Malygos to an extent that it's no longer a problem.

DoD Pack Stats
Just like you, I like to data my pack stats too. (the only pain is to write it every time I opened 1 pack)
Lucky you getting 233 packs. Until today I've just opened 79 packs (including B'day event). So here goes.
Total Legendaries : 6. (1 golden), No Duplicate ------> 1 / 13.1 packs
Total Epics : 17 (1 golden), No Duplicate ---------------> 1 / 4.64 packs
Total Rares : 94 (7 golden), 32 Duplicates (640 dust) (EDIT. I may missed something, because I also craft it from dust).
Total Commons : 280 (9 golden), too many to write (920 dust)
Missing 10 Rares, 34 epics, 16 legendaries. (Need at least 40200 more dust to complete it all)
Complete Common cards at pack #72
The only bad side is not coming from DoD, but SoU Pack Stats. from 110 packs, I ended up with fewer Legendaries & Epics.
I got so mad getting so many standard cast from packs (4 Coms and 1 Rare, 4-5 packs consecutively and repetitive)

Generally, they only resort to Hall of Faming a card if is is either an overused Neutral (Azure Drake, Ragnaros the Firelord), limiting design space (Conceal) or generally unfun to play against (Coldlight Oracle, Power Overwhelming)
