Skyweaver cards are eternal. Cards are never banned nor rotated out of play. This means the time you invest building up your skills, card collection and decks is never lost. All cards will always be relevant. That’s a guarantee.
This sound like something what cannot be achieved, especially with all card will always be relevant part. Most of the cards is and will be irrelevant. Look at MTG, HS etc.
As of November 2021, LoR had 180 million monthly players. Let's just suppose that its numbers have been cut in half since a year ago. That would still be 90 million monthly players.
Let's further suppose that only 10% of those players play on a daily basis.
That's still 9 million daily players. Extremely far from a dead game, even with extremely non-generous estimates.
Bottom line- You have GOT to get over the Twitch fixation. Just because major streamers made major mistakes and jumped ship to Snap (a fundamentally flawed game that is only going to force them to switch jump ship again to yet something else) - that doesn't say anything about LoR. It says much more about them.
The most recent LoR championship was so good that my CHILDREN (who are 8 and 10) were begging to watch it.
Competitions are still something we've talked about. We know that people have wanted to see changes to them for a really long time and we've ended up having to put them off for multiple seasons because of work around the site, and this time, we really want to actually change something before we start the next season up. We are still deliberating on getting new comps up as we speak.
Shadows has also been pretty busy with his personal life, which has limited his time on the site pretty significantly. This has affected the timing of the next season since he's pretty important to getting the ball rolling. Only he has the templates we use, unless we were to try to MacGyver our own. Speaking of which, updating the way competitions work is much more complicated than it sounds like it would be. There isn't always a good time to be able to actually talk about it, which is something that MotLK, holidays, Shadows not being here, and just general work on the site has affected.
As for huge comps. We know that people want them, but there's never been a very good time to talk about how we would actually go about doing this. We would need to build a whole new system for them, which takes a lot of time and testing (much, much more than we when we did this for the normal competitions). A lot of time-consuming technical work is needed when that work is instead used for something that's generally more important. We would love to do this eventually, but (and as disappointing as this will be) don't anticipate it happening any time soon.
Its funny how the topic of this thread makes it look like LoR is dead, like artifact, when in reality its probably second only to hearthstone as an online card game.
I dont play LoR but I watched some of the games. So I did a quick search and would you believe it, there's always at least one article calling the game dead every year. So I read the 2022 article of that and all I can surmise is that LoR's PvE is unpopular but was the focus for Epicgames at one point, but now they are backtracking back to PvP , probably because they just realised that most people dont play card games for a casual, PvE experience.
There was also some kind of controversy with LoR worlds, but I didn't notice it nor have I followed through the story deep enough. I can't say watching LoR is an easy experience because as a casual who's trying to watch for fun, there are times I cant follow the game at all. Someone would be at 15 then suddenly die out of nowhere, its like watching pre-nerf stormwind quest mage.
I will say though. The LoR reddit is so minute it almost looks like the game came out yesterday. Cant even go there for a laugh.
As for what I can make out of your comments, there will always be more 'bad' or netdecks that are efficient, and there are those 'cool' decks that dont work as well, aren't consistent, or just plain garbage. Happens in all card games. This does not make a game good, bad, or dead. Ironically I feel LoR can take a page off hearthstone and make their games more approachable or, for lack of a better word, 'easy'. Artifact wasn't necessarily doomed by its pricing structure, its more likely everyone couldn't follow the game well enough to want to play it. LoR to me is just an easier artifact, but its a 10 turn convoluted mess compared to hearthstone, a game where even a 10 year old can figure out whats happening within 2 minutes.
Like it or hate it, if it takes a galaxy brain to play a game where people supposedly play for fun, then that's just narrowing down the playerbase, something both gwent and artifact attempted and took to the grave with them.
I would be interested to read the perspective of actual LoR players on the pros and cons of the game, in comparison to hearthstone or any other TCGs.
Vexallus and Blood Crusader. Love Vexallus and Blood Crusader has a great pose standing over the zombie.
and if we include Path of Arthas: Lady Deathwhisper and Frostwyrm's Fury. Deathwhisper is just my favorite boss from Icecrown and Fury is just amazing art.
After nearly a month into the March of the Lich King expansion, I am checking in with you again to see how we are progressing on the latest rewards track. I hope you all had a prosperous start!
To kick things off, I only purchased the Tavern Pass this time. Since I dislike the looks of the signature cards, I decided to skip the welcome bundles altogether which saved me quite a few bucks. After opening 221 packs, my collection is not complete yet. Currently, I am missing 4 legendaries, so I have to wait a bit longer to obtain the other new coin. Having closely monitored how my gold and arcane dust levels changed for this new expansion, I think there is no more need for me to buy pack bundles in the future and still keep my reserves on par, unless the HS economy changes for the worse.
I am currently at level 130 and I have completed all the new XP achievements. The toughest achievement was Rogue's Imminent Demise. Team 5 was kind enough for us to make a few of the annoying ones completable against friends which was very helpful indeed. Not sure if this was intentional though.
In anticipation of the still to be added Death Knight hero portrait, I have not claimed the level 100 free reward yet. My main goals now are to reach a 1000 wins with the Death Knight class and to complete my last two non-XP gameplay achievements: Corpse Husbandry and The Reborn Identity. A long ways to go still, since I only recorded 158 wins with my new buddy, Darion Mograine.
How about you? What is your current RT level? How did the expansion launch treat you? Share as much as you like ☺️
Since the last event (don't know if that has influence) battlenet is constantly disconnecting when trying to start playing hearthstone. And more annoying it does it while playing the game, when you finally managed to get in.
Uninstalled and reinstalled it. Modem and router unplugged for half an hour.
I have a good connection, and i don't have disconnections with anything else. It's pretty frustrating not to be able to play in a normal way.
Anyone has this as well? and/or Someone having a solution for this?
Freljord is definitely a thing we have to consider when we write clues for Christmas events since it's where all the snow is, but focusing exclusively on one region is incredibly predictable (and incredibly lame), so we have to try to get creative at times with non-Freljord clues.
Oh, yeah, you said expansion in another comment. That clears things up. I've noticed myself that they often use cards from the snowy region, but I think there have been some exceptions so I haven't been limiting my searches there.
I've brute-forced all of Mythgard before since there are very few cards compared to others, but I think even during the first one of these I felt there were too many Runeterra cards to just click them all. Now imagine someone clicking every Magic card.

Custom Card Competitions?
What are these changes? Personally, I don't want any. I just want new competitions.

Battlenet issues
Sorry to hear that, because somewhere early in 2022 I had the same problem.
Its likely a server, region specific issue. I haven't encountered a bunch of this problem throughout this month.

Evolve Shaman
you tend to build wide boards yourself as well, so he is often going to be 4-5 mana 8/8 which ain't bad

Cool. We had an interaction a couple weeks ago about your space themed set :)

Yeah, my bad. I realized just now that I meant region instead of expansion all along. Goes to show I know very little about Runeterra.
For Magic this strategy would be nigh impossible especially considering how many reprints that game has.
Good luck with the clues of the upcoming two weeks and enjoy the holidays! ☃️

Is There Any Reason Not To Play Silver Surfer Right Now?
So what you just said is that silver surfer isn't the best card in the silver surfer deck
Do you see the problem with that?
Aka yes obviouy mystique into patriot is better because you are stacking a 3 location buff for less mana then captain marvel.
And youre stacking it twice
How to Obtain Hearthstone's Alternate Death Knight Heroes
Perhaps I missed the news, but did they already announce whether a Death Knight portrait would be added as a level 100 rewards track choice?
I am inclined to wait for this and refrain from claiming my next portrait in a few more days.
