  • New cards as arena rewards?

    that's a bug thing.

The unreleased adventure cards showed up both from random effects as well as arena rewards for some reason. It's not intentional

  • anyone hyped for the wc3 remaster?

My condolences to all those who played old WC and now can't even do that anymore

  • Vault reward

Are rewards linked to the active Region or are they random? Tks

  • Rewards after 3 expeditions?

Okay so I just played an open expedition and I've come to the conclusion that this is actually a great way to earn a lot of experience and/or to try out crazy stuff you would normally be too hesitant to try out in expeditions.

In my run I picked almost every poro card I was offered and I ended up with a deck with 5x Mighty Poros, 5x poro snax and 3x iceborn legacy to buff my mighty poros even more. I had some crazy games, got to 4 wins, and gained 900xp next to the normal amount of xp you get after each expedition game. So if you're in dire need of more xp, I'd definitely suggest playing some open expeditions.

So you need to have enough to enter three times, then you can farm up xp, right? I might be able to do that next week after i get my token from the vault. I can then lvl up some regions via expeditions, sounds like a plan! :)

    Yes, exactly!

  • New cards as arena rewards?

I don't know about obtaining them as rewards. Perhaps a good check would be whether anyone ever got adventure cards as rewards years ago for past adventures. I don't recall seeing that ever happen.

Certainly the new cards can be drafted and played before they are obtainable, so maybe someone mis-read that and spread misinformation that way?

In any case, the number of arenas you would have to do to have a tiny chance of getting them makes it a horribly inefficient way to get them, especially if you aren't normally an arena player. Better just to spend the gold on the adventure at that point.

  • New cards as arena rewards?

I heard a rumor a while ago when the first wing came out that you could get the exclusive cards as arena rewards instead. And personally i don't play arena, but i would rather play arena and randomly get a chance to get these cards, even if it's low, than pay money for something i would only end up playing once and never touch again...i don't know why people like this format of locking cards away like this...

  • Group Therapy! Need to blow off some steam? Mega salty? Here's the place!

Rogue is just broken af right now. They posses way too many answers to nearly any situation through nearly infinite discover effects, and the ability to reduce the cost of any card to zero Mana. So tired of facing Rogues who can keep their hand full while playing four or five cards a turn or more, draw through their entire deck only to shuffle thirty copies of one OP card back in, destroy almost any minion and any copies thereof anywhere they happen to be, build a full board of big minions from nothing, propagate deathrattle effects again and again and again... The only thing Rogue really lacks is class healing, and they can generally get that from any number of their ridiculous amount of discover cards. So sick of nearly half the decks I face on ladder being Rogue. I hate the class now. Wish they'd nerf it into the ground so far it'll never see the light of day again.

Now that hat the cat is out of the bag, I sure am glad for my pessimistic initial take because things are so much worse than I'd imagined.

Apparently the PR department completely overhyped what reforged was going to be, setting unrealistic goals for the devs and making promises to fans that couldn't be met with how many resources Blizzard actually invested into this remake. But even if we set that aside, like I said in my first post, I think the rot goes all the way back to the core concept here: remaking a beloved game 18 years down the line. There's no way that game could ever have lived up to the fond memories and nostalgia of the original WC3. Hell, I would argue that even the idea of "improving" the graphics was a giant misstep: WC3 characters were designed for low-poly models and the two go together perfectly. Keeping the character designs but improving the visual fidelity turns these characters into misshapen nightmare fuel, much like turning Sonic from a cartoon into a 3D CGI creature made him a monstrosity.  Adapting any design to a new medium is tricky, and this is one of the worst examples in recent years. For a game that does very little besides "update" the graphics, it's a crying shame that even those came out looking WORSE than the game that's old enough to drive and enlist at this point.

  • "The Ruination" is a horrible concept for a card. Balance issues.

Ruination is something every card game needs. There's nothing wrong with the concept, never.
You can discuss about being it over/under-costed, but I think it's fine tuned at 9 mana, meaning that you can't generally cast it until turn 6 at least.

The concept is simple and impactful, zero issues about it. You can argue that makes a strong value advantage, but it's not that easy, for example:

    - If you clear 4 enemies, how many of them were really threatening?
    - If you clear threatening enemies, how did you survive until then? You should at least have lost some blocker or other disadvantageous trades to survive
    - If you're dying and it's opponent's turn, you're probably super dead, being it a slow spell
    - If you clear advantageously in your turn, then opponent has 6+ mana to restart

Every other situation makes it a good/strong card, but as far as I remember good/strong cards always existed in every card game. And they usually are far stronger than a 9 mana spell.

Blizzard  has lost its mojo. Will they redeem themselves with diablo 4?

  • Rerolling event quests

Thanks for the replies, guys. I was worried the number of event quests was limited and rerolling would esentially lose you a quest.

  • anyone hyped for the wc3 remaster?

WC3:R isn't worth playing. I mean, it's the same engine from 17! Years ago with nothing but graphical updates.

Blizz has lost everything they stood for in the past. They don't even try to be innovative anymore.

Hence they don't deserve my money.

Well. I'll stick to diablo 2 then..

  • Beast Taunt Druid

Is it actually worth it having beasts alongside Hadronox even though Witching Hour could revive something else that is not Hadronox?

From my experience yes, reviving a winged guardian and cubing it can seal a number of games much earlier than with the setup required for hadronox. Maybe Da Undatakah can be included for an additional refill, but so far it wasn't necessary against control decks.

  • anyone hyped for the wc3 remaster?

Honestly had they just reworked the cut scenes like it was shown before release, instead of the watered down bs that is currently, maybe most people would have just shrugged and enjoy the game like it used to be 18 years ago. I guess they were pretty much copying what was done to starcraft 1 remastered: graphical improvement, no change to UI, no change to cutscenes, somehow managing to make some characters looks even worse than the original. Its instructive, perhaps, that because there were no backlash to starcraft remastered they thought they can get away with this bs too.

Ever since the founders of blizzard moved on, I guess we were pretty much 'well informed' as to where blizzard is heading towards now. I just hope they don't screw Diablo 4 too much, but judging from the demos I guess that's more than enough information on the subject.

  • Expeditions reward

    They are random. :)

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

    Stonehill Defender?

Broken card in Odd Warrior/Paladin that can generate random powerful defensive or aggressive taunts.

are they linked to the "active" Region or are they random? Tks

    Pro

They shouldn't have a cap next time. That way they will manage to rise the preispool even more, thus making it more and more attractiv for the pro players to play and compete, which in turn will make it even more exciting for us, the viewers and fans.

Now the meta score is at 0.9 by over 4k reviews. Seriously, it can't be that bad, can it?

    https://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/warcraft-iii-reforged

It got worse 0.5 from 15k negative ratings..

Wow blizzard how hard you can screw up.. Seriously releasing the same game with slightly better graphics, and *removing* features.

Anyway people are losing interest in blizzard which is good since maybe they will change their greed policy.

    Quote From Tox

Tbh, i've never understood the idea of a "cap" to add to the tournament prize winnings.

If i remember correctly, Dota 2 has a system, where a percentage from each purchase within a set time goes towards their large tournaments, which has traditionally resulted in enormous prize pools.

    Greed.
