  • cheaper method for packs/expansions

Probably why many players find hearthstone so expensive. Its mostly due to the exchange rates between different countries.

As was mentioned, amazon coins (in certain countries only) is the only method to give yourself a discount.

Wish blizzard start expanding the regional system of costs to their products, so its more appropriately costed (I believe this is the case for South America, where its objectively much cheaper to get packs, but no where else for some reason), in the same way steam does it now.

Its always sad, but hearthstone is moving towards its 6th year now, so changes in the organization charts is expected.

All the best to Mike and his future endeavors.

A little curious to see what a mech-murloc design would do in battlegrounds. Seems a little too OP in my opinion.

So let me get this straight, they are piling another task on to the card design team? Not a smart move Blizz....

Did you manage to try that elemental mage list with Book of Specters and Elemental Allies? I havent tried it yet, but now we got two new elementals in Arcane Amplifier and Hailbringer maybe there's some mid range elemental deck that isn't garbage.

Certainly going to try something like this before the month ends.

  • Accelerated Purrsuit

For anyone else who was scratching their head about this card: its the non-collectible, Expedition-only version of Purrsuit of Perfection, since the smaller decks of this format make the original 20 card requirement nearly impossible.

  • So, how long is Deny gonna stay at 3 mana?

Maybe Deny should only be able to counter spells that cost 5 or less Mana? That way it wouldn't cause huge swings based on whether or not the opposing player had a Deny. Deny could also have "If the spell costs 6 or more, refill your opponent's Spell Mana"

Not sure what game you're referring to since you're posting in off-topic chat.

Assuming it's hearthstone, the only legitimate way you can get them cheaper is with amazon coins. I haven't used it personally myself so I can't give you full details.

There is a post in this forum that can give you the info you need.

This is very interesting but having all of these vastly different ideas and gamemodes in one place is super cluttered, and clutter is something Blizzard is trying to avoid at all costs.

I think it's better if we start 1 at a time, tournament mode would probably be the first one we should go for in my opinion.

Another problem is splitting the playerbase, the game already has issues with wait times in Wild Legend. Adding this many extra gamemodes and ways to split up the game will do nothing but exasperate that problem.

We just got Battlegrounds as well, that's a full gamemode with its own team and updates. It'll probably be a while before they can consider adding a new one.

It's not a perfect UI design, but I work with what I got. It could definitely be improved.

One game mode at a time would work since it gives people enough time to adjust to and understand the rules of each mode.

So I'm aware of the Wild wait times, and I get it. I often ask myself why that is, it could be from the lack of support on Team 5's side letting OP decks/combos exist for so long before balancing them. Or sometimes I think that people just don't like it because of the samey-ness. Once a card is there, it's there forever, it doesn't rotate anywhere. Whatever OP strategy is plaguing the Wild meta will continue to do so until either a balance patch or an even more OP combo comes out after a new expansion. But that paragraph doesn't address your point, it's just how I try to think of it at a different angle, and that's not fair to you.

So splitting the player base is something I'm kind of fine with for the time being, if we had an accurate player count from Blizzard I'd reconsider based on the data. The reason I'm okay with splitting the player base is because people want options, let's use WoW and WoW Classic. Back in Warlords of Draenor players were talking about being able to play in classic servers, Blizzard just refused and didn't take them seriously. At the same time fan projects like Project Nostalrius were beginning to become a popular alternative. With the decline in player numbers (Data is old but still relevant at time of this all happening) for official WoW servers becoming a real thing, and Private Servers starting to really get attention and players (not more than what WoW had but still nothing to sneeze at) it was obvious what Blizzard needed to do. They shut down Project Nostalrius and lo and behold Classic WoW released not long ago. Unfortunately we don't have access to the current numbers (I can't find them) so we don't know how well any Blizzard title is really doing. But we can assume that those players have returned for a little bit longer.

With all that above being said, that's my way of thinking on the matter of splitting/diluting the playerbase. They may not be playing Standard, Wild, Arena, or Battlegrounds, but they are playing Hearthstone.

  • Elemental Mage

It kinda looks like he threw in elementals just for the sake of calling it Elemental Mage. You don't need this many elementals to make a couple of Elemental synergies work

  • Piltover Spell Decks

Let´s get straight to the bussiness.... Piltover sucks. It´s extremely slow and dependant on drawing very specific cards to win AND 90% decks you will play against have 3x Deny in their decks, as Ionia is completely broken region with elusive units, aggro, control, spells ... well , pretty much anything.

Piltover is supposed to be THE spell control region, but it has almost the worst spells in the game ( For example, Piltover is the only region without hard removal spell like Vengeance, Culling Strikes and Noxxian Guillotine , the best thing you get is 3 damage for 7 mana in Piltover :D )

Deny needs it´s cost increased to atleast 4-5,  so Ionia decks won´t be allowed to counter anything for 3 spell mana. And Piltover cards like Assemly Bot needs buff ( for example, decrease it´s cost to 2 ) ,  Piltover has no viable 1-2 cost units except Eager Apprentice so your deck becomes viable at turn 5+, where you can start comboing with Heimerdinger etc. , but in this meta there is no way you survive that long.

  • So, how long is Deny gonna stay at 3 mana?

    Quote From OldManSanns

My personal take: I do like that it can be used to counter combat tricks, but I agree that cost of needing to bank 3 spell mana for the reward of canceling almost any spell or effect is probably too much.  Even with MtG control decks, they were at least limited in what they could put on board if they needed to reserve mana for counterspells.  Maybe if they limited its effect on spells to those that cost 3 or less?  Or if it they made it so it only works on Fast spells--right now Slow spells aren't especially popular, but I could see that potentially changing if they didn't need to worry about Deny.

I like the idea of them being useable on everything besides slow spells. Or maybe it only works on your turn? Idk if I want the card to be nerfed mana wise, I think 3 mana is fine.

  • So, how long is Deny gonna stay at 3 mana?

    Quote From FortyDust

The developers will look at statistics first, then if it's on the borderline, they may factor in player sentiment.

There are plenty of other denial cards and tactics in the game (represented in every faction) that are just as strong, but because they are not worded as straightforwardly ("stop certain effects"), players tend not to think of them as unfair.

Playing around cards like Deny is simply part of the game. Watch some streamers if you need to see how it's done. If you're just too impatient to wait for an opening, I don't know what to tell you, but I don't think that's a good reason to change a reasonable card.

As for "solo winning certain match-ups," that is actually OK, too. Every deck and strategy has bad match-ups. If Deny is your deck's only weak point, that is all the more reason to keep it as it is.

I have played Magic for quite a while, I have no problem with playing around a counter spell. Deny is not a problem because it is overpowered, I dont care about it when I'm using an aggro or midrange deck. The problem with the card is that it makes playing control or combo decks somewhat suboptimal. I use two Denies in my Jinx deck, and the card is too strong vs certain decks. It needs to be changed unless you want to see only aggro or high tempo decks every single game. I have noticed my opponents on ladder almost always using Ionia as a secondary just for this card. It's already getting old in a game that's brand new.

  • What is the Shen emote supposed to convey?

    Quote From Marega

i guess we found the braum emoter when things go his way. thoroughly explains why emote isnt bad and defends it with his life. yeah im not surprised if you are that kind of guy that doesnt use the emotes as a way to acknowledge your opponent but rather to upset him

Sorry to see you prefer ad hominem attacks over actual logic. You must get super-triggered by the Heimerdinger emote.

  • The Elusive problem and solutions

    Quote From Demonxz95

I believe that Elusive would probably be easier to balance if it was more accessible to all regions. The reason Flying works well in MTG is because every color has at least a little bit of it, and there's specific counters to them. Even if Green has the fewest Flying creatures, they're also the best color at countering them.

Kinda like Demacia and Freljord have lots of Challengers, and Shadowed Isles is good at removal in general?

  • Are we OK with decks having no champions!?

You see each Champion at the start of the match, and at any time you can click on your opponent's deck to see it again.

Oh, right. I did forget about that.

Still, it's a weird thing to be bothered about!
