  • whos good idea was it to make those puff cards

I beat it more then not though The mechanic itself is unhealthy

  • whos good idea was it to make those puff cards

The issue is it adds way more then it should and unlike spells they themselves can not be counterspelled(deny)  and you can only deny the puffcaps so many times before it becomes an issue.  Keep in mind most removal spells have hefty mana costs as well. so while im wasting my turn hes putting more on board as well.  It actually does a lot more damage then y'all give it credit for.

I actually beat the deck most of the time im specfically talking about how unhealthy there mechanich is.I eiehter use shroud or spammy spiders

  • What is the Shen emote supposed to convey?

    Staff Pro

Shen's emote is a hold palm salute which originates from Chinese culture. It is a greeting / sign of respect so no, you're in the clear on that!

The Shen emote is the only one of the bunch I can't see being used for bad-mannered play.

  • The Galakrond's Awakening Hearthstone Adventure Week 2 Cards - Clash at Wyrmrest

I am not so sure since discover has always generated cards. One exception is Master's Call, that discovers a minion and draws all 3 if a beast. Whether it is 1 or 3, the cards are removed from the deck.  I am still not sure what happens, but it seems more likely the spell is actually drawn.

  • What is the Shen emote supposed to convey?

I'm worried that I might be breaking etiquette using emotes...  I get that Braum is like "greetings", Jinx is surprise/amazed, Darius is face-palm/mistake, Heimerdinger is thinking, and poro is sad/disappointed, and I think  Shen is well-played, but I don't know.  Is he supposed to be more like a threat?  Have all my attempts to respectfully acknowledge my opponents at the end of the match actually been misconstrued as childish taunts?  Am I just overthinking all this?

I'm running a similar list.I dropped fresh offerings and some skitterer in favor of Rhasa the Sunderer. He just end games and its easy to trigger in this deck. I also like Ravenous Butcher bc it helps triggering most of the deck and it's a not bad bodie.

  • My first impressions playing LoR

I was pretty hyped before release, and honestly I'm enjoying it even more than I thought I would. The only part of OP's "cons" I agree with is that the UI can be a little weird to navigate. The buttons are definitely way too boxy and bland.

I love Expeditions, whereas I never could get into Hearthstone Arena or drafting in Magic no matter how I tried. The bucket approach to drafting and the back-to-back loss rule just make it so much more approachable.

I love the progression system; any game with randomized packs is going to feel like a huge ripoff after this.

I love that the "classes/colors" are region-based and so deeply rooted in lore. I also love that they plan to add more over time.

I love that Champions are the true centerpieces of most decks, and getting them into play is so baked into the overall game design.

I also love that Champions level up, and that there's a whole extra level of strategy surrounding that.

I love how the Champions' abilities so vividly reflect their lore and personalities. This is true of most followers, too. In other games (and I'm sure this gets harder over time), it very often seems like an ability was imagined first, and then slapped onto some random minion with a very contrived-sounding name that only vaguely relates to the mechanical part of the card. I hope Riot can keep making their cards seem as organic and unforced as this first batch.

I love that there's no land, and I love how spell mana smooths out the curve so elegantly. (Seriously, guys, this tiny thing is a major work of genius!)

I love the combat. I love that the defender assigns blockers, but there's no gang-blocking and most units don't regenerate.

Besides the tiny UI issues, I'm honestly having trouble coming up with anything to complain about. Little balance things, maybe, but those would not be a critique of the game itself.

awesome not even 24h needed before the first i lose to a deck so i gonna complain topic is made

  • Please help me understand the economy

I've been totally ignoring my rewards and just grinding XP, but I figure at some point I'll need to understand and optimize my consumable resources.  From what I can gleam:

    • "Coins" are the in-game exchange for real-world cash; they can be converted into other resources
    • "Wildcards" have a corresponding rarity and can be converted into any desired card of that same rarity
    • "Expedition Tokens" can be redeemed for 3 Expeditions runs, which in turn reward shards, wildcards, and random cards
    • "Shards" are the baseline currency which can be converted into Wildcards and/or Expedition Tokens.

Is that all of it?  Are "capsules" not a thing any more?

darkest hour odd rogue and even shaman are also slowly creeping up again.

Now that you mention it, I do think that Explosive Evolution may replace Earthen Might in some less Totem-focused Even Shaman lists. Any thoughts?

Most minions in EShaman are overstatted for their base cost, bad targets for Evo.

The only good target is Thing from Below.

And Might generates Tempo on play turn, while Evo cannot do that.

At that point you're better off with Ancestral Spirit.

The Tempo argument is quite solid: I didn't think about it. You're completely right on this one.

It's literally the 7th most-played list on HSReplay, your anecdotal evidence is worthless.

Ok ok, I was going to ignore all the stuff I don't agree with in this thread because people can have opinions different than mine, but this is too much lol

    1) If more than half of the meta is split between Rogue (Highlander, Galakrond) and Hunter (Highlander, Face) it doesn't take much playrate to be the 7th list, even more if it contains one of the few new viable cards released literally 3 days ago. Everyone wants to play with the new toys.

    2) A deck's playrate doesn't indicate its strength: remember how many people played Galakrond Priest in December despite it being an absolute pile of garbage? Everyone knew but still insisted to make it work. That deck was at best tier 3 but it was so popular on ladder.

    3) Imagine quoting HS Replay as a valid meta report source. In Vicious Syndicate and only in Vicious Syndicate we trust.

That dude said the deck isn't popular, I referred to data that shows it is popular and you're saying I'm wrong because... you don't think it's strong? Nobody said anything about strength. In your first two points you're literally saying that the deck is popular, and you're last point is just wrong since HSReplay has a lot more data than VS, being able to show popularity more accurately.

The user you replied said that "it can't be popular enough to complain about", to which you answered substantially stating that no, it's quite popular [and therefore complaints about it are justified] (I'm not making words of my own y'know).

Therefore I replied to you saying that popularity doesn't mean strength and therefore it isn't necessarily a problematic deck. Do you see the pattern now?

On the HSR/VS side, the former shows the popularity of a deck spread through all the ranks, while the latter breaks ladder into samples, one of which is 4-1 and tells a lot about meta's hierarchies.
A deck can be really popular at Rank 18 but almost non existent at rank 2: how can HSR show it to you without paying and, in the end, which one gives you the most valuable information?

Is there no way to add recent opponents?

It seems a bit...let's say "odd"...if the only way to add friends is to have 2 pieces of information, one of which could only be distributed outside the game client.

Using Hearthstone as an example, I can understand why they would not enable such a thing.

Considering how the emotes in Runeterra are completely nonverbal, I suspect they are actively trying to minimize opportunities for toxic behavior.

  • Explain Nexus Damage PLZ

I don't know of any basic strategy videos specific to Runeterra, but until someone makes some, it might not be a bad idea for people new to the genre to check out basic strategy videos for Magic and Hearthstone. The rules may be slightly different, but the core concepts of board control translate very well.

When I first started Hearthstone, Trump's Teachings changed my life. (Trump the streamer, not the other one.)

  • whos good idea was it to make those puff cards

    Quote From Bystekhilcar

    - To the person who suggested healing was a counter - healing is actually quite poorly handled in LoR in my view, at least in this early stage. Healing from spells seems to be valued phenomenally highly, judging by the cost of spells with healing built-in (and the low values of those heals). It seems significantly more efficient to play a lifesteal minion and then buff it, even if that minion only gets a single hit off - and that has the potential to stick around and continue to heal.

For what it's worth, I think a lot of people consider lifesteal to be a form of healing. I certainly do!

@OP: You keep saying it's uncounterable. It is not. The counter is to remove the units that are putting puffcaps into your deck. If you are talking about spells that give you puffcaps, it's no different than a spell dealing direct damage to your nexus -- it's just slightly delayed. In the end, damage is damage. The only concern is the amount of damage in comparison to the mana cost required to inflict it.

A puffcap deck generally doesn't deal egregious amounts of puffcap damage per mana unless you leave a leveled-up Teemo unchecked. If that is how you are dying, I don't think it's fair to blame the game design.

Duplicate thread, though I can't find the other one so it may have been in a weird section.

Regardless, this is a temporary thing and will be resolved in a future update. I agree, it sucks. Forums just need to become "game aware".

  • Explain Nexus Damage PLZ

    Quote From Destero

To confirm with the scenario above.  Is the only way to deal damage to the enemy nexus requires you to have more cards on the field than the opposing team so the "extra" cards attack the nexus directly with the attack/defense only localized to the opposing card?

As others have pointed out, technically there are other ways to damage nexus (overwhelm, spells) plus ways to make your allies harder to block (elusive, fearsome), but realistically most games will come down to board control and value-trading.  For instance, in the scenario you described, you still have a 5/3 in play while your opponent has lost his ally.  Now on the next round, he has to be careful who he attacks with, because you can trade very favorably.  Say for instance they attacked with a 5/5 without quick attack: you could block it with so that both died, and then your opponent lost 2 allies for your 1.

In general: try to focus the combination of making your army strong and their army weak.  If you do that, you'll whittle away their resources to the point where they don't have anything left to block with, and then you'll just crush their nexus.

    Agreed.

I suggest putting some buttons directly below "From the Forums" to filter what a person wants/doesn't want to see..

MTGA, LoR, HS. Just simple abbreviations, no need to get all fancy.

Also, is there a way to disenchant cards or it's not permitted ? I usually focus on a narrow set of classes (here regions) but I'll be unable to do such a thing if I can't scrap the cards I'll not play :<. This can come awkward if your favorite tailored deck is nerfed (wanted to try Karma Braum first but the nerfs...).

It is not possible. Allowing you to disenchant would speed up the process of building finely tuned decks, and Riot wants to keep it slow.

I think the idea is that it will help keep the meta fresh longer if we don't all copy-paste the three "best" decks in the game after one week of play.

I wouldn't worry too much about nerfing. Even when they make balance changes, they don't seem to nuke any deck or strategy into oblivion. Their goal is to make things fair, not completely remove a deck from play.
