  • Independent Games Highlight

The more I see what other digital CCGs are out there, the more I appreciate Hearthstone's art style. Though these ideas sound unique and toothsome, the only game board I could stand to look at for a while is Tales of the Deck (and maybe Mythgard).

It's surprising to me that no other card games have emulated Blizzard's style, really. Even something so simple as round cards, rather than blocky ones, looks more natural. But most other CCGs I see, these included, don't have round cards. These boards are cluttered and dark, too. it's like they put the least importance on making it look smooth and pretty, when I think that the art style is nigh more important than what the cards actually do. You want to be interesting to new players; the art is what they'll see first.

Amazing, thank you for sharing. Looking forward to playing Tales of the Deck.

  • Has the dust settled from the Shaman Nerfs?

I haven't played that much since the nerfs, just daily quests basically, but I pretty handily beat quest/galakrond shaman with Lackey Zoolock, so yeah, even with a small sample size, I have to say the nerfs were effective. I expect the meta to evolve quite a bit now that there's room to experiment without one S-tier deck warping the entire field.

Thanks for the post, mate! These games seem interesting..

  • Biggest Disappointment: No (Good) Dragon Decks in DOD

Am I the only so, so disappointed by the lack of a viable mid-range or even tempo based Dragon Deck in DOD?

I was expecting to see Dragon Paladin, Dragon Hunter, and maybe even Dragon Druid be at least moderately competitive.

Instead we have Face Hunter, Deathrattle Rogue, and maybe Galakrond Shaman (post-nerf; unclear.)

I barely see any dragons being played most of my games on the ladder.

I do see the occasional Highlander Deck use the new 9 mana dragon. Still, so disappointing.

Seems like a very cool idea mixing buffs with the recruits ! Does it work well tho?

I haven't been able to try it out for myself yet ^^"

  • Has the dust settled from the Shaman Nerfs?

I find Galakrond Shaman just as good as before the nerfs, a little slower, but just as good. Kinda dumb really. Oh well, 3 months of this then rotation season! lol

  • Has the dust settled from the Shaman Nerfs?

Rogue and Face Hunter are really popular right now. Galakron Shaman is good but I don't think it'll be Tier 1 again. The nerfs really hit its tempo.

  • Has the dust settled from the Shaman Nerfs?

This is sad. Guess I'll keep playing Battlegrounds until nerf round 2

  • Murozond the Infinite

    that flavor text though

  • Galakrond, the Nightmare

I have yet to make a deck that I like with this Galakrond.  It's Lackey generation for the invoke is pretty solid, but the replacement hero power seems lackluster compared to the warrior, shaman, and warlock decks.

  • Galakrond, the Tempest

Still busted.  But hindered by the recent nerfs

  • Galakrond, the Unbreakable

I use this SOOOOOOOO much in Wild. Dead Man's Hand with Kronx Dragonhoof is amazing.  I set up a Dragon Deck that I have a little draw, but mostly it is control and having something continually able to give me "weapon" damage with me hero in addition to drawing minions that get +4/+4 id amazingly ridiculous.

  • Galakrond, the Unspeakable

I am still feeling that this is the weakest of the Galakronds.  I have seen some "good" usage of it in Wild formats, solely because of the expansive minions that you can get... but it still feels generally weak for a legendary hero card.

  • Galakrond, the Wretched

I have thoroughly been enjoying this Galakrond lately.  There is so much synergy with card draw and continual minion generation that it helps Zoo deck flourish

  • Deathwing, Dragonlord

why would this guy be in whispers of the old gods? I don't see how they are related

  • Has the dust settled from the Shaman Nerfs?

The dust has settled from the recent nerfs to the Shaman cards that seemed to be the reason the class in the current standard meta was so broken.  In my experience, it doesn't feel like the class has really felt the impact of it.  Sure there are a couple of cards that are a little slower now, but overall the class still feels the same to me.

The only real difference for my versions of the Galakrond, the Tempest decks is my inclusion of Corrupt the Waters and Electra Stormsurge.  I have found that playing Electra and then Dragon's Pack is mega dumb.

But aside from Shaman, I've actually really started to enjoy the Warlock Galakrond decks and the variants that people are creating.  So my question is this... Now that Blizzard has "neutralized" Shaman Galakrond, what are you playing now?

  • Highlander Decks That Actually Work

Highlander rogue is apparently a legitimate deck too according to some pros. Haven't tried it myself yet though.

  • Dame Hazelbark and the Winter Veil Wonder Bundle Available Now

I wonder if she's a prelude character to the next year-expansion, given the video...

  • Zephrys - not that great?

I hope they don't optimize Zephrys until it always provides you with the perfect card in any situation. This would be seriously op.

It already prevents so many decks from being played since he is so versatile and offers highlander decks counters for many strategies without using up tech slots.

Otherwise it would reduce the disadvantage of playing highlander decks, their inherent inconsistency and make them too strong.

  • December Card Nerfs are Live, More Changes Possible in the New Year

Merry Christmas and a happy cancer rogue meta!

  • Nightmare Amalgam Removed from Battlegrounds in Today's Patch + More Updates

What more could you ask for, you asked? Was that rhetorical or you simply decided to omit the last game mode I mentioned?
What more ? a Wild re-balance-update instead of a card dumpster would be great
How many game balance update did Battleground had so far in its short existence ?
Now compare that to how many time Standard been balanced over the course of 6 years
3-4 times in a quarter vs Once per set launch, starting late 2018 (?)

  • Group Therapy! Need to blow off some steam? Mega salty? Here's the place!

By far the biggest bullshit I have ever seen so far in Hearthstone....and I have survived Mean Streets of Gadgetzan.

What a fucking bullshit expansion. Now only IQ40 aggro decks everywhere after a joke of a nerf for shamans, that literally destroy everything countering the aggro fucktards that hopefully won't see christmas eve.

And the arena rotation? Not only is Descent of Dragons completely broken arenawise, the overall rotation is such a big pile of crap.

Nice catering for fucking dumb casual people. At least battlegrounds is tuned better with every patch.
Looks like they let the Trainees design the expansion and the real team, that did a great job this year so far, fully concentrated on battlegrounds.

  • King Mukla

Pro tip for whoever has been brave enough to come here: if your opponent has 8 or more cards in his hand and you play Zephrys the Great with 3 mana left, he'll almost always offer you King Mukla for some milling shenanigans.

Kind of a neat interaction that has won me a game or two.

  • Card Nerf - Corrupt Elementalist

    Quote From Hydrafrog

Combined with the Shaman Quest reward, it will have minimal impact, AND makes it a better target for mutate and lackey transformations

    Totally agree.

    Shaman still being OP.
