Priest's invoke was probably balanced with Dr. Boom in mind, not to mention the fact that the class has Princess Talanji. That said, it's the least scary Galakrond invoke by a wide margin because it rarely has any impact on early/midgame tempo, which is really when most Galakrond decks want a leg up from their invokes.
I like the idea of stealing cards from the opponent's (starting) deck, but I feel it'd probably still be way too gimmicky to be playable. Generating dragons instead of priest minions would also be a slight improvement, but again too slow. The only way I see the HP be playable at the moment is if it discounts the minions it generates by 1-2 mana so the invokes actually generate some tempo, not just value. In all probability that'd still mean the discounted card comes down a turn later, but at least it'd be overperforming compared to what you paid for it.
Nice post! I tinker mostly with galakrond warrior and warlock and happily found success. The E.V.I.L class are so much fun (well maybe except shaman for some people LoL).
Great und fun deck and article. I am 4-0 at rank 10. Even won a value match against control shaman with a ton of board clears. THX. UPDATE now 15-5 not too bad...
Personally, I really don't like twilight princess.
For one, the graphics are kinda bad. There isn't any texture so the whole game feels kinda weird.
I don't like the dungeons, they are way to linial. They all feel the same, find the new treasure, go off to the left and grab one key and also unlock the middle door. Go through the middle door and find the second key and also unlock the right door. Then go through the right door and find the third key and fight the boss. And all of the boss fights feel the same also. Memorize the attack pattern until you find an opening to hit the super obvious weak spot.
Midna is very annoying. I am sorry.
I will admit though that the fights are pretty interesting. My one plight though is that all of the enemies feel too easy, they all seem to just kinda let you walk in and kill them. The truth is, Legends of Zelda isn't a combat game, it is a puzzle game. And, as I mentioned above, the boss fights are all very systematic and repetitive.
All in all I think that the whole game is just too systematic. Every dungeon is planned out the same way, all of the fights go the same way. The whole game just feels too linear. I think a lot of Legends of Zelda games are like this, they have stayed from the path of the origional
Wow, you're the first guy I talk to who doesn't like Midna! But as long as you're not in Team Phi, I can live with that! ;)
Yeah, the Graphics aren't this games strongest point, especially of the Remake. I personally though love the look of the Wii-Version. In combination with the music, the washed-out, somewhat blurry style made it feel like some kind of weird, non-realistic dream.
The fights against normal enemies are pretty simple, that's true. What I meant were the fights against the Lizalfos, Darknuts and Minibosses. If you try to beat them with all the secret arts you've learned and without taking damage, they become really fun and challenging. Zelda might not be about combat, but that doesn't mean you can't have great combat!
The one point I completely disagree on though is that the Dungeons and their Bosses are all the same. The Dungeons might go with the old Zelda-Dungeon-Formula (get Key, get another Key, get Item, get Bosskey, hit boss 3 times), but they still have some good puzzles and more than enough character to be memorable. One has you save a group of Monkeys, which later on will help you in the Bossfight; In another one you meet a Yeti and his Wife, who you have to collect Soup-Ingredients for and later becomes corrupted through the twilight; etc... And, Imo, the Bossfights in TP are some of the best and most epic/cineastic in the whole series! The music, the different stages, they way you finish them -- It all feels so satisfying! Like you're an Adventurer and they are huge Monsters that have to be slayed!
... but forget about about the Water-Dungeon. That one's total BS. And the one that gives you a LITERAL BEYBLADE.
Blizzard won't change it for sure but I can think about many solutios: change it to "add a random dragon to your hand" that way you can easily use dragon synergies and get better cards.. You lose tempo anyway so the payoff better be.. Better.
Discover a minion wouldn't be too broken I think.. It's currently beyond terrible so..
Another option would be a card from opponen't deck at least it would be a good card..
My favorite series is borderlands, so I play a ton of borderlands 3. When I get bored of HS and BL3 I like to play fallout 4.
Borderlands is my favorite as well :D
That being said I think my favorite individual game is now Hollow Knight: I absolutely love it. The atmosphere, the challenge, the music; for a game made by at-most four people, everything about it is near-perfection.
I also absolutely love borderlands, but 3 was a huge disappointment for me :( I still have about 400 hours in bl2
I think the best way to run Galakrond Warrior is as an aggro deck. Basically port over most of the old Aggro Warrior that has Redband Wasp and Bloodsworn Mercenary, but put in Galakrond, the invokes, the Scions, and Kronx. It's been working pretty well for me anyways.
Yeah even with Magic, as much as I do love the game, the aesthetic of Arena just isn’t that great for me.
Part of what hearthstone does well is making everything bright and cheery. Most other games instead go for a much darker look to it. Maybe it’s because they’ve heard the few people that complain about hearthstone’s look, or maybe it’s because they want to try and look distinct from it, but it really doesn’t help them with drawing people in
What about simply changing it to "Add a random Priest minion to your hand. Give it +2 Attack". This would make some of the worse outcomes a lot better, Test Subject, for example, becomes a 2/2. If +2 Attack seems like too much +1 Attack could be fine, but I think that buffing the random minion could make it much better and more consistently good
It certainly makes things slightly better, but it doesn't solve the inconsistency issue. The problem with random minions is not just synergy with the deck. Timing matters as well. You don't want to be spending 2 mana in the late game to get 1 drops even if they come with a buff. A 1 mana 2/2 doesn't provide any real value at that point in the game. Some 1 drops you don't want at all. Northshire Cleric's card drawing ability becomes troublesome against classes that can heal because they can force you into fatigue by healing your stuff. Your suggestion isn't bad, but the randomness of the hero power is too much of an issue.

Great article, I've been experimenting with my own Galakrond Warrior (running the Into the Fray package) to moderate success. I'll definitely try out your version!
Also, TLoZ: Twillight Princess is my fav Zelda. Awesome Dungeons, Midna is the best and great Fights!

It's been a long time since I played other Games, but I played lot of Batman: Arkham City/Origins and Bayonetta 1/2. I spent so much time chasing High-Scores I probably still have the muscle-memory for critical free-flow hits and some Wicked Weaves Combos!
Also, TLoZ: Twillight Princess is my fav Zelda. Awesome Dungeons, Midna is the best and great Fights!
I believe they could have given him something like: "Lifesteal: Deal 2 damage to a minion". That way it would provide board control and sustain without moving it away from a more control oriented playstyle.
Galakrond's hero power can't be targeted since Invoke can't be a targeted effect (otherwise it gets weird with Time Rip).
Yeah, i suppose. Then i really don't have many ideas. It just sucks that they went something as bad as "Add random stuff to your hand"

Yeah, Priest-Minions rn just suck, but I think if they would have better Invokes it would at least compensate for the Tempo-loss. Disciple of Galakrond is pretty good but that's about it for good Priest-Invokes. Shield of Galakrond and Time Rip are mediocre at best and Devoted Maniac is just terribly bad in Control-Priest.
I think instead of attaching Invoke to a below average Removal-Spell, they should have gone with HEALING. You know, the Thing that Priest is supposed to be good at.
Meta Breaker - Getting Buff for a Post-Nerf Meta
Very nice article as always, thank you for taking the time to write these.
Kibler's Legend Quest Priest (66% WR)
Love to see that non-DoD deck is on Top! ^_^

Rippy Highlander Face Hunter
Thank you :D
When they see Dinotamer Brann it's always too late lol
Rippy Highlander Face Hunter
A little bit..
You can play it for tempo at T6. But the damage isn't guaranteed to face, so it's too risky.

Call of Myth's cardstyles, arts etc. seems like TES:Legends so much, even same.
Is this a clone of it or has different playstyle ?
Favourite non-card games thread!
Pcs currently out of order but me, my little brother and one other friend are playing a mobile game called Identity V.
It's basically Dead by Daylight for mobile with slight differences.. It's fun in group.

Really cool selection! If you want to add another to the list World of Myth has a really interesting combat system.

All those seem like good replacements to me! The mech package lost effectiveness over time as the meta evolved

Restore 2 health to all friendly characters
I think this would have fit the Priest class identity better and have enabled some priest tempo deck.
