  • [DoD] ResidentSleeper Awards

    Quote From KANSAS

Embiggen, Dragonbane, Mana Giant, Nozdormu the Timeless, Grave Rune, Dragon's Hoard, and Faceless Corruptor Aren't Sleepers. All of them have an average rating of above 3.5. And that means a lot when there are so many opinions, I really don't know how you are deciding what is a sleeper or not.

I've read and heard so many opinions about these cards. But I've rarely seen full positive thoughts about them...
These cards may not be too flashy, and a lot of people are considering them MeMey_

That's why I consider mostly of them Sleepers.

p.s Faceless Corruptor isn't a sleeper, but it will be nerfed 100% imho. I should replace him with Evasive Wyrm lol

  • Descent of Dragons

    Quote From Alfi

They should switch the images to match frame as they match in Warrior and Shaman.

Or maybe you should revised your theory when confronted with contradicting evidences, maybe ^^

  • New Mage Minion - Chenvaala

Hard to evaluate in some ways,  as it's hard to judge the extent to which Mages will be able to get off lots of small spells in a small space of time. Definitely works well with the new cards Violet Spellwing and Cobalt Spellkin, though, and even just summoning one 5/5 elemental is really great value - 3 mana for 7/10 in stats!!

  • Lightforged Crusader

I am gonna name decks featuring that card "racist paladin" :-)

Neat concept, but needs far more support.

  • New Mage Minion - Malygos, Aspect of Magic

A powerful card, and an auto-include in any Dragon Mage deck I would say. Personally, though, I think that dragons will be weaker in Mage than most other classes this expansion. The low-cost spell support is very strong, however, so there will definitely be viable decks - will just be interesting to see the extent that dragons feature in them.

  • New Paladin Minion - Lightforged Zealot

".. and that's how I ended up playing 4 Truesilver Champion that game"

  • New Shaman Spell - Storm's Wrath

I thought they were concerned early this year with Class Identity / Strenght vs Weakness for a given class ...

  • Embiggen Dragon Druid

Hmm, I didn't even think of the potential of Flooping your Frizz!

  • How many Invoke cards should you include?

How many do you think you should usually run in your deck 4,5,6? I've just been putting four but now that im thinking about it with how slow draw can be some games that might not be enough and I probably should put 6 in some. Shaman probably only needs 4 since it has a card that invokes twice. Thoughts?

  • New Hunter Minion - Dwarven Sharpshooter

Definitely well-statted and a great tool for controlling the board early on. If you go first and play this on turn one, your opponent faces a dilemma. They probably have to either remove it (difficult on turn 2 and even turn 3), or play multiple minions. Even later in the game it could provide a handy tool for removal. Will be interesting to see how people use this.

  • New Paladin Minion - Dragonrider Talritha

If played turn 3, the value is immense, but it's still really good even if you play it later assuming you have some dragons.

  • Corrosive Breath

Based on the cards that seem to fit into Dragon Hunter, it looks like a midrange deck. In which case, I'm not sure where this would fit. 2 mana is definitely a reasonable cost and the effect is strong. But for a midrange deck, why not just run the rush package with Diving Gryphon?

  • New Paladin Minion - Lightforged Crusader

Imagine playing Wyrmrest Purifier as Paladin and getting this. As for the archtype, it's probably too young to be good, but in time, it might just become something.

  • Primordial Explorer

Definitely an auto-include in any Dragon Hunter decks. Poisonous is tricky to deal with, discover a dragon is an awesome battlecry, and if you play it on turn 3 it sets you up very nicely for the mid-game. If Dragon Hunter is good, this will be a defining card in that deck.

  • New Paladin Spell - Sanctuary

It's bad versus the very thing it's supposed to be good against - aggro. That's not a good sign.

  • Diving Gryphon

Such a strong card. Draws a card (which also has rush), provides removal, has the beast tag, reasonable mana cost. Also great synergy with the Clear the Way sidequest.

  • What Inspires You To Build A Deck?

    waifus

  • New Paladin Minion - Lightforged Zealot

Is it too much to call this deck Nazi Paladin? Seems balanced.

  • New Paladin Minion - Sky Claw

Microtech Controller but much better, great card for Mechadin, Standard and maybe even Wild.

  • What Inspires You To Build A Deck?

I like to build decks myself at the very beginning of a xpack, then I try to refine them by playing and internet search for something similar.

There is one thing that is of utmost importance to me to like the idea of a deck - it MUST be build around 1 (sometimes more) cohesive and important for a given xpack theme. Also I play almost only shaman and mage as I don't like other classes that much.

So, since atm DoD is incoming I'm interested only in the following themes:

    -singleton/dragon and elemental/tempo for mage

-galakron/whatvere works with him and elemental/overload for shaman.

I will try these and keep playing whatever works. I avoid many meta/teck picks as they often don't follow the theme of a deck.

  • New Hunter Spell - Toxic Reinforcements

I get why this card exists with the support for Face/Aggro Hunter builds in this expansion. But for a deck that's trying to be aggressive, it's a very slow card. There's no way you'd play this on turn 1, and on later turns I don't see how you could justify this when you're trying to strengthen your board and finish your opponent off.

  • New Paladin Spell - Righteous Cause

Good in any aggro deck, especially Odd Paladin. Will be interesting to see.

  • [Day 1] DoD - Quest to Unleash the Tempest

Probably, it's a Day 1 deck that hasn't been tested yet. Are you expecting T1 without any play testing?

What do you find "terrible" about the deck? Constructive criticism and sharing ideas is what this site is about. If you don't have anything of substance to add to the discussion, then why bother saying anything?

  • New Hunter Weapon - Stormhammer

Surely an auto-include in any Dragon Hunter decks. I'm interested to see how Hunters choose to build their Dragon decks with this card in mind. For example, turn 2 Faerie Dragon and then this on turn 3 could be a really strong play. Smaller dragons alongside this weapon could create space for a decent midrange deck, but even in decks with bigger dragons this is still super strong.

  • New Paladin Minion - Amber Watcher

Ironically, such an antique design. Really good card, great heal you can even use on a minion if you want to!
