[Day 1] DoD - Quest to Unleash the Tempest

Day 1 - First thoughts:
So Far: 5-0 with this deck
Faceless Corruptor is broken (save you extra copies of this one lads. This card is going to get nerfed. 10/8 in stats on T5 is ridiculous. If your opponent leaves a single minion on the board for you on T4, the game is over)
Dragonmaw Poacher is going to make this a Big Game Hunter meta
Nithogg is probably going to receive the axe very quickly. If the eggs hatched normally as well if broken by the opponent, it would be good. But I played him in both my games (with double battlecry) and not a single egg hatched. UPDATE: I finally had eggs hatch, and it was game ending. If your opponent can't clear the eggs, you basically win. Plus he is a good Mutate target.
Dragon's Pack is very powerful, but so far, I think it's good at running only 1 copy.
Mutate continues to be problematic. There are more good targets for it now too. Try and hit: Mogu Fleshshaper (obviously), Nithogg or Corrupt Elementalist
Changes:
Made some changes due to interest in the deck and people's suggestions.
Removed: Invocation of Frost, Devoted Maniac and Shield of Galakrond
Reason: Corrupt Elementalist should give us enough Invoke. Will test and see if more is needed.
Added: Faceless Corruptor, Dragonmaw Poacher and Lifedrinker
Reason: Faceless Corruptor should be really power in this deck with lots of token targets. Dragonmaw Poacher will be useful for early meta that is full of everyone playing with their new dragons. Lifedrinker to add healing and one of the main damage dealers for quest shaman.
Removed: 1x Dragon's Pack
Added: Bloodlust
Reason: This deck NEEDS Bloodlust. 2x Dragon's Pack seems too slow. 2nd Dragon's Pack will probably be swapped for 2nd Bloodlust. But I want to play with Dragon's Pack first because it looks like a fun card.
Other Cards Being Watched for Possible Changes:
Sandstorm Elemental - I'm thinking this might not be needed. Might be better to have more Lackey generation with EVIL Cable Rat
Questing Explorer - while an amazing early game play while completing the quest. It's a dead vanilla stat minion in the late game. If card draw is an issue, I will replace this with Novice Engineer
Mutate + Mogu Fleshshaper - cheating out an 8 mana minion is always a powerful play. With this combo on Blizzard's "watch" list, this could be out last chance to abuse this combo. Need to watch and see how the power of this combo plays out in the new DoD meta.
Nithogg - I'm not expecting great things from this card, but it's a new Legendary that needs to be tested. This very well could turn into the 2nd Bloodlust. If you don't unpack Nithogg, don't craft him. There are plenty of cards that will work as replacements.
Possible Additions:
Vessina - 2 card 5 mana combo that is better than Bloodlust. Storm's Wrath + Vessina = Bloodlust for 2 turns + 1 Health on your minions. This might be better than a 2nd Bloodlust.

I have tried to replace Nithogg with Vessina and it acted better than Nithogg for sure ! You should absolutely consider to replace them with each other.
While Vessina helps you press more, Nithogg only works for a protection so I think Vessina fits better.
And Weaponized Wasp + EVIL Totem also can be replaceable with something in my opinion. They slow you down most of the time. That's not a must. They can stay too.
I just wanted to share my opinions and experiences with the deck. :)
Yeah, I've made the switch in game to Vessina already, just haven't updated the list on here yet.
Plus I've been busy playing/refining a Dragon/Highlander/Quest/Galakrond Shaman deck, which I am having a lot more fun playing than the normal list.
If you enjoy Highlander play style, I highly suggest you try it out.
will probably so fun to play for me because highlander archetype one of my favorite style but sadly I don't have Barista Lynchen, do you have any suggestions to replace her ?
btw, Don't have Swampqueen Hagatha either for replacing Barista Lynchen. :(
Well, maybe I can use Big Ol' Whelp for more resource.
Does Shudderwock repeat the updated Galakrond's battlecry?
I would assume so, I honestly haven't had to play Shudderwock yet. Games over before he is needed.
After a couple of games, I can say this deck is a lot of fun. Needs some refinement, but I am enjoying it greatly. I will have more time to play and test later today. (DAMN YOU CAPITALISM FOR MAKING ME WORK!!)
First thoughts after a couple of games
Looks pretty fun, but I am still very skeptical about Galakrond and Quest together in the same deck. Who knows? Maybe the board flood strategy from Galakrond may end up being better than a “regular” Quest Shaman build.
My gripe is that Quest Shaman usually wins with endless pressure to your life total via Lifedrinkers, Lackeys and maybe Cumulo Maximus. This deck does not really have any way to win outside of hoping your opponent does not have enough removals.
I'm skeptical about bringing Quest and Galakrond together too, but it looks like a lot of fun! At least something to play around with until the meta settles. Plus double Devastation with Kronx Dragonhoof? Sign me up! (even if it's hard to pull off delaying completing the quest until after you're Galakrond.)
I had the same thoughts on Lifedrinker and had been debating putting him in. I actually just made a few changes to the list, and added Lifedrinker back in for that usual Quest Shaman playstyle.
I think the deck now has a few more ways to win. As always, only testing will tell for sure!
are Devoted Maniacs necessary in Galakrond Shaman ?
I mean you can add Bloodlust or something instead of them. You have already great tokens with rush, I don't think Devoted Maniac are good enough to be a part of this deck.
Yeah they are #1 on my list of first cards to be traded out. Figured try out the "new" cards first. Both Neutral Invoke cards look like they're going to be pretty bad.
Have you considered Faceless Corruptor ? For me it's one of the best addition to quest shaman, I'm also thinking about a Dragonmaw Poacher at least to counter overgreedy dragons decks that will be tested on the first days
Yeah I have considered both of them, and will probably put them in to replace the Neutral Invoke cards.
Nice deck :) In my opinion Corrupted Elementalist is all you need to upgrade Galak to its final form (given that you use one of them with quest hero power) and I'm not sure how well Nithogg will fare. Good luck!
I agree. Some of the Invoke cards will most likely get removed. I figured Devoted Maniac would at least be another ok target for Mutate.
Nithogg will probably be cut pretty quickly. But have to try him out and play with the new cards! I'm definitely not expecting great things from him.
This deck is terrible
Yeah, it is not a card, it is a deck and if you are writing a comment like "terrible" you need to say something about why you think like that.
You can call a card terrible without a reasoning, but that's not valid for a deck. We are a community here.
Probably, it's a Day 1 deck that hasn't been tested yet. Are you expecting T1 without any play testing?
What do you find "terrible" about the deck? Constructive criticism and sharing ideas is what this site is about. If you don't have anything of substance to add to the discussion, then why bother saying anything?
day 1 : I try for sure!
Battlecry can't enter Wild soon enough.
Bloodlust surely finds a place with all the tokens? Instead of dragon's pack maybe?
Great deck though! Will definitely give it a spin!
