Guys i'm f2p player, would you recommend crafting this awesome cards? Is there any budget friendly highlander deck out there?
I watch his action on YT and really want him myself..

    Thanks in advance.!!

Vandaren, it's a pretty awesome card, but  highlander is not a budget format. Includes many legendaries and epics, so if you have many options for hunter and mage (the biggest advantage of highlanders right now) go for it and you won't regret but if you have a small collection or not so many cards in those classses imo you should wait for the meta.

  • Tactician Custom Class (4/12/20 - Ashes of Outland)

Neat work.  I especially like how your expansion cards compliment the previous sets.  I'd like to see more cool eastern dragon synergies.  The rarity cards also make for fun deck building challenges!

What I'm not too crazy about currently, is the tactic keyword.  Is it essentially a conditional battlecry?  Seems like you're missing out on tying in with some cool pre-existing synergies by not just being labeled as 'battlecry'

Tactics work as both a Battlecry and an ongoing effect (like Addled Grizzly). As long as you have the Tactic minion on the board and another minion that fits it, the other minion gets a buff. It also means you can chain Tactics together. If you have Hozen Blademaster, Goblin Strategist, and a board with Shado-Pan Agents, the Goblin will give the Agents Taunt, which will trigger the Hozen to give them +3 Health. Suddenly your 1/2s are 1/5 Taunts. You have to plan around them, but they can really help build a strong board (which is critical for Tacticians).

I'm definitely planning more dragons, but I still want to match up with the themes of each expansion.

My biggest concern is that there are quite a lot of cards that scream weak for me like Firemaster or Shado-Pan Master. You just got to buff them, because they seem too weak. Some cards are also weird to include imo (like Cleansing Mist), but I guess you plan on adding stronger spells and you prefer them to have these more useless spells as emergency options or to balance out odds of getting certain cards.

Otherwise the class seems fine, but not that flashy and maybe slightly out of place. I do appreciate how you're trying to force players to position minions appropriately, and the rarity thing seems neat, but still not flashy for me. xd

Later effects will definitely be flashier, but I didn't want to make the early sets too powerful, more to just show off the flavor of the class and give ideas for what it can do. I was thinking of buffing the Shado-Pan Master though.

  • Invasion of the Legion! (New Set, WIP)

I think a good balance of demons to non-demons would be to look at GvG and Boomsday. Because these sets were largely tribal focused, I think they'd provide a good basis for how many of one tribe is enough.

Also sorry about the Eavesdropping; I completely misinterpreted that card. I don't know how'd you reword it to fix it. Love the idea though!

Also Im very against the “perfect card” phrase on the card... the card is a scam.

The card text says “wish for” the perfect card, and his summoning audio is “your wish is my suggestion” instead of the more familiar “your wish is my command.” This isn’t false advertising. (Perhaps what you’re feeling is buyer’s remorse?

  • Invasion of the Legion! (New Set, WIP)

Hey thanks for all the feedback guys.

One Eavesdropping, maybe it should be more clear. If you guess correctly, the card leaves their hand goes back into their deck. It's like a preemptive pyschic scream that makes you test your knowledge of your opponent's deck. Any suggestions on how I might word this better? I tried using Curious Glimmeroot as the model and that has confused people.

Too many demons. Possibly! Its my goal to add more non-tribe minions and minions of other tribes. Hunter is currently a 'good guy class' or maybe more anti-hero, its using demons to fight demons. Paladin is similar, with a redeemed dreadlord leading them and the shackled dreadlord being the only demons I plan for that class and lots of focus on silver hand recruits and various effects that interact with legendary cards.

Shaman I think will be based around the observers, the behold rip-off guys. Their crazy eye type stuff seems perfect for overload cards.

Warrior will be themed on Doomguards and also Fel Reavers (which are mechs). But it'll be part of the Legion invasion group.

I need suggestions for Priest! I've been thinking about Voidlords? But I also think priest is a good candidate for a 'anti-legion' class.

More tweaks and cards coming today and this weekend.

  • How to Play Zephrys the Great - The Perfect Hearthstone Card

Two times now I have been looking for Acidic Swamp Ooze and Zephrys has never proposed it to me. I had an 8/1 waggle pick facing me and I went down to 5 mana when playing Zephrys, and no Ooze. I saw it happened to a streamer too, but Zephrys gave him Harrison (although he didn't have the mana for it). So I'm under the impression that Zephrys is blind to Ooze.... Does anybody know what's up ? Is there a rule where he doesn't give Ooze unless the weapon has multiple stacks ?

I agree the card is not perfect, but it predictable enough to be extremely useful. In most games, I can create a scenario where I know I will get a certain card. My biggest issues have been inconsistency in getting Mass Dispel when I have enough mana and the opponent has several buffed/deathrattle minions on the board. For example, I was playing a Paladin who had just two Mechanical Whelps on the board, and it offered me Hex, a taunt and a board clear. Mass Dispel would clearly have been a better choice than Hex. It also seems to be not coded (or low priority coded) for health/armor gain. I almost never get healing or armor cards even when I'm really low on health. It usually gives me board clears or taunts instead.

I've found that when playing against Big Priests and you're looking for a Hex, wait until they get an Obsidian Statue on the board, and have at least 4 mana left over, and you're very likely to get it.

  • [Game] Create a Deck that is Out of Budget

Hey there, fellow members of OoC. I am Esparanta, an avid Wild deckbuilder who loves to try different shenanigans and tinker exotic decks. Recently, I created some decks under the name of "Out of Budget" and the rules are:

    • Create a deck consisting of only Free/Common/Rare cards. No Epic/Legendary cards are allowed.
    • Don't try to add freebie Epic/Legendary cards (Looking at you, Archmage Vargoth/SN1P-SN4P). If you do, just mention your freebie Epic/Legendary cards within guide.

This thread is to encourage you for creating budget decks that are as valid/solid as expensive competitive/casual decks. So, I will start with mine:

It's No Secret! You are Out of Budget!

    What's yours?

  • Tactician Custom Class (4/12/20 - Ashes of Outland)

More cards! Now that we're done with the starter sets, I feel like I can start printing weirder and more powerful cards since they're not evergreen (technically none of these are evergreen since they'll never be playable but you know what I mean). Gear Up in particular gives Tactician a win condition if they can avoid Flamestrike and keep a large board alive long enough. Let me know what you think.

The rest are in the main post!

  • How to Play Zephrys the Great - The Perfect Hearthstone Card

Im not a fan of this card, I think it has very limited use and its worth to be used on when you are 100% sure what it will offer. If you play it outside the usual Twisting Nether, Fireball, Shadow Word: Death, the card rarely gives you the card you want. Also Im very against the “perfect card” phrase on the card, I had 7 mana left, was at 2 health, there was a 5 health Shudderwock on board and this card offers me 3 bad choices instead of Holy Fire, the card is a scam.

  • Invasion of the Legion! (New Set, WIP)

I feel there are too many Demons overall. I agree with the idea of having a "good" side aside. Especially when it's an invasion. There have to be something that fights against the invasion.

Cool!!!  Please add that crazy Dragon Hunter of Pikatwo.  Yeah, he didn't make the day 2 cut but it looked fun as heck.

I'm going to link this post in my Highlander deck guides!

  • Pretty much. Even the name is a monster. :P

  • Invasion of the Legion! (New Set, WIP)

Can I ask, what's the point of Eavesdropping? You guess correctly and the opponent gets value? Also even if you corrected it to say 'your deck', it still would be massively underpowered. Curious Glimmerroot is a similar card and it comes with a 3/3 body and the card gets directly added to your hand.

Impstigator should say 'attacks a random enemy minion'. At the moment he's too random of an effect to see play and it he shouldn't allow the opponents face to get hit as it wouldn't feel good as the opponent when the rogue is playing aggro. I see Impstigator more as a less reliable and more inconsistent Supercollider.
