Is it possible to add Odd/Even archetype across all classes? Although rare, one would like to share her/his Odd Priest or Even Warrior so to say, which will help finding more unique decks. What do you say, fellow members of OoC?
P.S: I'm sure there is an archetype named "Minion Mage" which was started with Book of Specters. Or, do I have my facts wrong?
P.S.S: Let a topic be sticky for forgotten archetype suggestions.
Added Odd/Even archetypes to classes that were missing these. I could have sworn i did that before, but apparently not.
I dont think a "Minion Mage" is worth its own archetype, you can put it under tempo or midrange mage and be fine with that.
I changed the name of the thread, but i dont think making it sticky is worth it, not like we are gonna have new archetypes every day. Ppl can find this and request it here, on discord or via PM, if they feel the need a new archetype should be added.
Well so far i've crafted everything i wanted and did not get in my packs - so right now i do not have any crafting wishes.
Zephrys the Great is awesome (and fun) - one of the best cards (if not the best) in the Set - of course if you know how to play him :)
King Phaoris is pretty Good in Highlander Mage and the Deck itself is also pretty decent!
Highlander Hunter is also pretty good - way better than i expected - i personaly run a Highlander Mech Variant instead of the Secret Variant (i only run 2 secrets in the list) and it´s doing pretty good.
Not a bad deck, but I think bomb warrior is criminally underplayed right now. Everyone already knows bombs shit on highlader decks but bombs also shit on Prismatic Lens and Tortollan Pilgrim to an extent. They also stop freeze mages from drawing too hard, minimizing pocket galaxy value if not played very early. I'm 68% wr with it in dumpster legend
Idk man, i've save up about 6k dust but those fun decks are really way above 10k dust or something.. i got King Phaoris out of pack but i dunno where to put him (mage nerf incoming) and i dunno if Siamat is worth it.
The suggestions for improvement are actually necessary to make this deck competitive. Without the legendaries it's not worth bothering with it unless you want to use it in casual to complete quests.
This is proof about how the Wild format isn't a dumpster for all the broken crap. Wins my confidence. Next time they sell a wild pack I'm ready to pony up. LOL not
If only there was a minion that summoned a minion from your opponents hand. Oh wait there are several. If people don't want to put in tech cards, their choice. Just can't get mad when they get combo'd on.
I know! You have to tech for everything and have decks that only tech against every possibility! You must be one of those younger people that doesn't understand sarcasm
The move would provide more room for other Control decks to emerge on par with Warrior, Mage could still play the anti-Control role, while being worse at highrolling against faster decks.
Nobody loses too much, but the meta would be slightly less polarised.
As a Wild player, I would also call for a nerf to Ancient Mysteries and Totemic Surge (notice Even Shaman is my main climbing deck). By (1) mana each. They'd still be very powerful in Standard, provided enough Secret/Totem support, while not being insane in Wild.
P.S: I'm sure there is an archetype named "Minion Mage" which was started with Book of Specters. Or, do I have my facts wrong?
I'm not sure it took shape as a defined archetype. I guess it could be compressed either into Zoomage or Handmage (not sure if any of these types are already an option tho). "Minion Mage" sounds like a meaningless label, imo.
There would be more cards I'd like to try, like Anka, the Buried, or even just Zul'jin or Kazakus (for Warlock), but then I should also craft many more expensive cards, and I can't really afford that (if I want to save something), nor am I sure the move would turn into Wild-viable archetypes, and/or that they would fit my typical playstyle.

Right now I would say yes. I'm climbing consistently with highlander mage, but I'm not sure it will be viable in the long run.
Is it fun to play?
Yes
Is it worth crafting?
It depends on your card collection. This deck a 15k+ dust deck, so it all depends on how many good cards you are missing
As most others have already commented. Zephrys the Great is a must in any highlander deck, so without that card you should not really play highlander decks in standard right now. I would also add that Vulpera Scoundrel, Tortollan Pilgrim, Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron and [Hearthstone Card (Luna’s Pocket Galaxy) Not Found] are key cards for this deck. Both for the fun part, but they are also key in turning around games that you feel you are loosing. You mention that you are missing Siamat, but that is not a key card at all. I would also say the same about Reno the Relicologist.
You can see it as another sort of OTK (and not an easy one). And as any combo deck already existent, you can tech against them or lose if they manage to set it up.
Now that the meta's starting to settle, and the first vs report and kripp's crafting guide are out, I'd be interested to know what you're planning to craft, or have recently crafted.
For me, I'm planning to craft zephrys, dinotamer brann, plus one of snake trap, rat trap and masked contender, which will give me a good highlander hunter deck. Will also craft 2 x psychopomp for a combo priest deck. Gonna hold off until I unpack 1 more legendary though, in case I get anything I need from packs first.
Conjurer's Calling is just a problem. Dropping a Mountain Giant on turn 4-5 then multiplying it with this card is just too frustrating to deal with for non-aggro decks. And it's a twinspell, making it doubly frustrating. Maybe the mana cost will be upped, or the twinspell mechanic removed.
Agreed. I was pretty astounded that there were no understatted 8-drops released for uldum, as well as there being 2 broken 10-drops introduced. Imo, this would have solved the problem of conjurer's calling being a consistently busted play, without having to meddle with the card itself.
Does anyone know when these guys had to submit their decklists for this? Most of these decks seem super unoptimized or of archetypes that we've figured out are bad by now (and the tournament stats are already reflecting these issues)

True, pretty good against Warriors - defenitely not a weak deck

So i think i'm gonna craft Zephrys the Great (because he is SO FUN) and maybe a Quest with some cheap build around cards so i can join the fun, maybe like Bazaar Burglary or Corrupt the Waters.

If they find a smart way to nerf Dr. Boom, Mad Genius, without killing the card, they can also nerf Conjurer's Calling.

Well, after dropping Zephrys the Great and crafting Bazaar Burglary, I guess my expenses are mostly over already.

Loses to any deck with more than 2 board clears as well.

While I'm not a fan of Pandaren, I've found your class pretty charming! Can't wait to see more of it.
Bravo!

There should be a special circle of hell for people who play control warrior in casual. Why would you do that to another human being?

It's No Secret! You are Out of Budget!
But Goblin Blastmage works well with Mech decks and Jeeves is the only one to proc his ability. Also, why exchange Arcanologist with Ancient Mysteries? Having 0-Cost Secret will sure help to proc the ability of Cloud Prince on turn 5. No words for Babbling Book as it's a filler card in all honesty 🙄
I appreciate your feedback, however, and thanks for the compliment.
